Rainbow Bonanza Merge

Rainbow Bonanza Merge Slot Review

The sweetest-looking game in a lobby is usually the softest underneath; Rainbow Bonanza Merge is the opposite. Behind the candyfloss hills and the purple-corseted fairy, this is a slot built almost entirely on one hard piece of arithmetic: multipliers that add themselves together, spin after spin, until a cap calls a halt. The pastel scenery isn’t what’s doing the paying.

Clawbuster‘s 6×5 release runs on cascading wins at a 95.00% RTP. That figure is modest by modern standards, and the game doesn’t dress it up. What it does instead is hand the grid a multiplier system that adds itself up, spin after spin, until the numbers stop looking gentle.

It’s a sweet-looking build with something sharper underneath, and the gap between the two is worth understanding before you spin.

Base Game & Features

Play runs across a 6×5 grid populated by hearts, cherries, stars and coloured gems. Wins form when matching symbols group together, and every win sets the whole board moving.

Cascading Reels

Each winning combination pays out first. Then the winning symbols vanish, everything above them drops down, and fresh symbols fall in from the top to fill the gaps. If the new arrangement makes another win, the cycle repeats.

Cascades continue until no further winning combinations form. There’s no limit on the chain, so a single spin can keep paying for as long as the grid keeps delivering.

Because frames and multipliers ride on top of the cascade, a single spin isn’t really a single spin: it’s a sequence of boards, each one built from the wreckage of the last. A frame can sit untouched through several cascades while the symbols around it churn, waiting for a win to land across it.

Magic Frame Multipliers

On any spin, glowing frames can appear over random positions on the grid. Each frame carries a starting multiplier from the following set:

• 2x, 3x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 10x
• 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x
• 500x, 1000x

A frame’s multiplier applies to any winning combination that overlaps its position, and a single overlapping symbol is enough to claim the full value. Scatter wins are the exception: they pay their own way, untouched by frames.

No single frame can exceed 1000x, and no merged group of frames can exceed a combined 5000x. Those are hard caps, not soft targets.

In the base game, frames vanish at the end of the spin that created them. Whatever they added up to is gone by the next drop.

Frame Cluster Merge

The merge is what gives the game its name. Frames sitting on horizontally or vertically adjacent cells combine automatically into one cluster, and the cluster’s multiplier is simply the sum of everything inside it. Diagonal neighbours don’t connect.

The sums keep growing from there. If a new frame lands on a cell that already holds one, the values add together and the cluster recalculates. If a frame lands in a gap between two separate clusters, all three groups fuse into one and the combined multiplier is worked out again.

A worked example makes the scale clear. Frames of 5x, 20x and 100x landing on connected cells merge into a single cluster worth 125x, and every win that touches it picks up that full 125x. From there, a reinforcing frame or a bridge landing in the right gap pushes the figure higher still.

Two rules finish the picture. A winning symbol group that overlaps more than one cluster is multiplied by the sum of all overlapping cluster values. And a cluster applies its full multiplier independently to every winning group that touches it, so one well-placed cluster can boost several wins on the same cascade.

Rainbow Bonanza Merge Free Spins & Bonus Buys

Free Spins

Landing three or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels awards 10 free spins, with one extra spin for each additional scatter beyond the third. Scatters keep counting inside the round too, each one tacking another spin onto the total.

The crucial difference is persistence. In the base game frames are wiped every spin; in free spins they carry over and accumulate across the entire round. Every frame multiplier active at the time of a win applies to that win, so a long bonus can build a grid thick with merged clusters by its final spins.

One detail worth knowing: frames from the triggering spin don’t come along. When the bonus starts from a regular spin, the board is cleared first. Scatter payouts themselves are made after all cascades finish, and the round’s total is credited once the bonus ends.

Triggering the round through a buy follows its own rules, covered below, and the frames that arrive with a purchased bonus are there from the first spin rather than built up from nothing.

Side Bets

Two optional side bets are available, and only one can be active at a time:

• Ante Bet (1.3x stake) – doubles the chance of triggering free spins by making scatters more frequent
• Magic Frame Bet (10x stake) – guarantees one winning cascade and five Magic Frames on every spin; if the bonus triggers, those five frames are removed and don’t carry into the round

They aim at different things. The Ante Bet is about reaching the bonus at all; the Magic Frame Bet is about making every spin in between look like the bonus.

Bonus Buy Options

Three purchase options are listed, and all of them deliver 10 free spins. What changes is how many Rainbow Frames you start with:

• Free Spins – 100x bet, triggers 10 free spins with no active Rainbow Frames
• Rainbow Bonus – 200x bet, triggers 10 free spins with three active Rainbow Frames
• Magic Bonus – 400x bet, triggers 10 free spins with five active Rainbow Frames

Starting frames matter more here than they would in most games, because frames in free spins never reset. The Magic Bonus begins the round already five frames deep, with every merge from that point adding to a running total.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.1/10

Rainbow Bonanza Merge spends its base game teasing you. Every spin shows you frames building, merging, adding up, and then wipes them clean, and whether that’s frustrating or the whole hook depends on your taste. The reason to choose it is the free spins round, where all that arithmetic is finally allowed to stay on the board and grow.

That accumulation is the strength, and it’s a real one: a round that gets richer the longer it runs rewards patience in a way most ten-spin bonuses don’t. The weakness is the entry price, because a 95.00% RTP sits below the modern standard and charges you for the privilege of waiting.

This one suits players who enjoy a long game and don’t need the base game to be the entertainment. If you want steady returns while you wait, it’s less kind. For the rest, the fairy’s sugar-coated world hides a tighter machine than it looks, and that machine is where the fun lives.

Rainbow Bonanza Merge is made by Clawbuster.
• When is Rainbow Bonanza Merge released?

Rainbow Bonanza Merge’s release date is 24 September 2026.
• How do you trigger free spins in Rainbow Bonanza Merge?

The bonus needs three scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, which is worth 10 free spins; each scatter beyond the third adds another one. Scatters landing during the round extend it further.
• How do Magic Frame multipliers work?

Frames appear randomly over grid positions carrying multipliers from 2x up to 1000x, and a win only has to touch a frame with one symbol to pick up its full value. In the base game frames clear at the end of each spin; in free spins they persist and accumulate, with clusters capped at a combined 5000x.
• What do the side bets do in Rainbow Bonanza Merge?

Two side bets are offered, one at a time. The Ante Bet costs 1.3x your stake and doubles the chance of triggering free spins. The Magic Frame Bet costs 10x and guarantees one winning cascade plus five Magic Frames on every spin, though those frames don’t carry into a triggered bonus.
• Can you buy the bonus on Rainbow Bonanza Merge?

Three buy options are listed: Free Spins at 100x bet with no frames, Rainbow Bonus at 200x with three Rainbow Frames, and Magic Bonus at 400x with five. All award 10 free spins. No buy button appears in the base game’s own interface.

• How do frame clusters merge in Rainbow Bonanza Merge?

Frames on horizontally or vertically adjacent cells combine automatically, and the cluster’s multiplier is the sum of all frame values inside it, so 5x, 20x and 100x frames on connected cells form one 125x cluster. A new frame landing on an occupied cell adds its value, and a frame landing between two clusters bridges them into one.
• Do frames from the triggering spin carry into the free spins round?

No. When the bonus is triggered from a regular spin, all Magic Frames from that spin are cleared before the round begins. The same applies to the five frames created by the Magic Frame Bet side option.
