Rampage! Slot Review
Two glass tubes feed a single glowing spot in an empty blue arena, and that’s the entire stage. Rampage! wagers everything on one repeated moment – a ball rolls into the light, you pay to break it, and its prize is whatever was inside – and it’s a better use of that idea than most five-reel games manage with a hundred symbols.
That’s the entire game, and it’s a bolder strip-down than it sounds: no reels, no paylines, just your wager against whichever ball happens to roll into the light. Gaming Corps have never been shy about odd formats, as anyone who has met 3 Pigs of Olympus 30,000 Extreme or Udder Carnage: Holy Cow will know. This one runs at 97% RTP with low volatility, which is a generous pairing for a game built on smashing things.
Each ball hides a prize or a feature, and the tubes keep feeding. Time to see what’s inside.
How a Smash Works
Four balls queue in each of the two side channels, with one active ball sitting in the middle. A wager attempts to smash the active ball, and whatever it reveals is yours. After every smash, a new ball is randomly chosen from the front of one of the two queues, rolls to the middle and becomes active.
Which queue the next ball comes from is random, so there’s no reading the layout or counting positions for an edge. The two slides simply feed the centre, and the game only ever asks one question: does this ball pay?
There are no wilds and no scatters here. Every ball in the game can carry any of the features, or the instant-prize award, and that’s the whole economy of it. Autoplay is on hand too: pick your desired number of automatic bets from the options, press play, and the game keeps smashing for you. It can be stopped at any time.
Your stake is set with the bet controls before each run, and each ball pays as a multiple of that bet. The top of the ladder is steep for a low volatility game:
- Magenta ball: 1x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 75x, 100x
- Teal ball: 1x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x
- Rainbow ball: 1x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 75x, 100x
- Orange ball: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x
- Grey ball: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x
- Green ball: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x
- Blue ball: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x
- Black ball: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x
Notice how flat each ball’s own ladder is. The magenta ball steps from 1x all the way to 100x across its range, while a blue or black ball never climbs past 5x, so the colour rolling into the centre tells you most of what you need to know before the smash lands.
A fixed prize ladder runs alongside the ball pays. It’s flat rather than progressive, so the figures don’t move:
- MEGA: 1,000x the bet
- MAJOR: 100x the bet
- MINOR: 25x the bet
- MINI: 10x the bet
Two smaller details are worth knowing. Cracks shown on a ball are pure decoration and change nothing about the odds. And the queues are saved separately for each bet value, so switching stakes puts you back on a different set of balls.
RAMPAGE
RAMPAGE can be awarded after any smash. It’s the game’s streak mode: the smashing keeps going automatically, with up to 10 balls broken in a run and a minimum of two guaranteed.
It plays out in a clear order. The feature triggers, the first ball breaks, and its revealed prize lands. The next ball rolls in from a slide, gets smashed, and pays whatever it was hiding. That cycle repeats, prize after prize, for as long as the run holds.
The run only ends when a smash attempt loses. Two balls is the floor, ten is the ceiling, and every one in between pays on its own merits. That floor matters more than it looks: even an unlucky RAMPAGE is never a single-smash dud.
MULTIPLIER and MULTI RAMPAGE
The MULTIPLIER feature can also follow any smash. A multiplier coin is awarded, an extra ball gets smashed, and that ball’s payout is multiplied by whatever the coin shows: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x.
The coin is its own symbol, separate from the eight coloured balls, and it only does its work inside the feature. A 2x coin on a 5x ball pays 10x; a 10x coin on the magenta ball’s top prize of 100x pays 1,000x, which is the same figure as the MEGA tier on the prize ladder.
MULTI RAMPAGE appears as a mode of its own as well, though beyond the name the game leaves its rules undescribed. Given what the other two modes do, the obvious reading is the two combined: a streak of smashes with coins landing along the way.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
Playing Rampage! is watching one ball at a time roll into the blue light and finding out what it’s worth, and the reason to choose it is exactly that: every single wager carries the same suspense as the last. There’s no reel-spinning filler between the moments that matter. The game is all moments.
The best thing about it is the value: 97% total return with low volatility means the tube rarely goes cold, and the ball pays reward the patience the game asks for. Its weakness is the ceiling. The top of the fixed prize ladder is a 1,000x MEGA, and once you’ve seen a few runs end at two balls, you know how the shape of a session goes.
This suits a player who wants steady, undemanding play with the variance kept on a leash – a warm-up game, or a wind-down one. Anyone hunting four-figure ceilings and layered bonus rounds will find the arena empty long before they’re satisfied.
