Base Game & Features
Reel Rampage is a high volatility slot release from Slotmill, featuring 5 reels, 4 rows, and 20 fixed pay lines. When 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1, a winning combination is created.
The 4 highest-paying symbols are represented by the Purple, Orange, Green & Blue Character icons, followed by the A, K, Q, J, & 10 low-paying card suits. When a win is formed, a random payout between 0.2x and 10x your bet is applied, where applicable.
Additionally, Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except Scatters, appearing on all reel positions as part of a winning combination. Lastly, when 2 Scatter symbols appear in a spin, they will transform into Wild symbols on the reels.
Stacked Symbols
Throughout gameplay, Wild symbols & Character Icons can appear stacked on reel 1. If a stacked symbol appears partially in view in the base game, there’s a chance for it to nudge down until fully stacked on the reel.
Alternatively, in Free Spins, each partially-stacked symbol is guaranteed to nudge down and fill the entire reel. Each stacked symbol acts as 4 instances of its type, thus triggering the Nitrous Respin Feature.
Nitrous Respin Feature
During the Nitrous Respin feature, only high-paying symbols matching the stacked symbol can land on the reels, in addition to special Modifiers. The feature begins with 3 Lives, which decline with each spin, unless a new symbol appears in view.
When a new symbol hits, it will remain in its current position for the entire duration, resetting the Lives to 3 and increasing the active Multiplier Meter. When the Multiplier Meter is filled, it will increment the Stacked symbol’s Multiplier by +x1 each time.
Lastly, there are 3 Modifiers available in this feature – these include:
- Charge: Increases the Stacked Multiplier by +x1.
- Upgrade: Updates the current locked symbols to a higher-paying one, in accordance with the paytable.
- Add: Introduces a random number of locked symbols to the reels.
Reel Rampage Free Spins
The Free Spins mode will trigger when 3 Scatters land anywhere in the base game, awarding 8 Free Spins.
In this mode, each partially-stacked symbol is guaranteed to nudge down and fill the reel, thus triggering the Nitrous Respin Feature. Furthermore, the Multiplier Meter does not reset between spins.
Alternatively, players can trigger the Super Free Spins mode by landing at least 1 Super Scatter at the time of its trigger. During Super Free Spins, each time the Nitrous Respin Feature triggers, it will clone the stacked symbol to reel 5, including its active Multiplier.

Our Honest Verdict
If you fancy yourself a bit of a rebel in a dystopian world, you’ll find Reel Rampage to be right up your street. The apocalyptic scene is one we’ve found ourselves a part of frequently, but it has a whole new appeal in Reel Rampage.
The graphics and animations are very typical of a Slotmill release, offering a high-quality appearance. To expand upon the end-of-the-world atmosphere, Slotmill has also introduced a cutting-edge soundtrack and effects.
In the base game, you’ll find plenty of entertainment in the Nitrous respin Feature, which is very similar to the Respin Feature found in Crazy Crops. While this feature is great for topping up the balance and keeping players engaged, it can quickly become stale, especially if you fail to land any of the 3 Modifiers or connect the symbols all the way across.
Another small addition to the base game is the transformation of Scatters into Wilds, but this only occurs when 2 Scatters appear in the same spin. Finally, having a partial stacked symbol on the reel can be somewhat frustrating when it fails to nudge and trigger the Nitrous Respin feature, quite like Shady Lady’s Swoll.
More of the same gameplay can be found in the Free Spins mode; however, stacked symbols are guaranteed to nudge into full view, and the active Multiplier Meter does not reset.
UK players will be pleased to know that the Super Free Spins mode can be accessed in the base game, naturally, while players in permissible regions can purchase it directly for 400x their bet. In Super Free Spins, each stacked symbol is cloned on the fifth reel at the start of the Nitrous Respin feature for increased potential.
