Reptizillions Power Reels Slot Review
Reptizillions Power Reels is a slot that pays you for patience before it pays you anything else: for long stretches its seven wide columns of jungle do almost nothing, and then a single locked dinosaur turns the whole board into a slow-motion stampede you can’t take your eyes off. That contrast is the game. Red Tiger have previously stretched this format across Mystery Reels Power Reels and Gems Gone Wild Power Reels, but here the wide grid isn’t just big – it’s directional, and every symbol on it is walking somewhere.
Winning dinosaur symbols lock in place and march one column to the left on every spin, collecting matching neighbours as they travel. The maths runs at 95.69% RTP with a hit frequency of 32.71%, stakes from 0.10 to 50 per spin, and a maximum win of 4,473x the bet. Whether a stampede can grow faster than it walks off the edge of the earth is what everything here turns on.
Symbols and Pays
Seven columns of differing heights make up the Power Reels grid, taller than it is wide and unlike anything a five-reel player is used to scanning. The columns don’t all show the same number of rows, which means the shape of the board changes as you read across it. Symbols pay for matches of three through to eight, and every value is a multiple of the total bet rather than a line stake.
With a hit frequency of 32.71%, a little under one spin in three returns something. The two headline dinosaurs lead the paytable, and their ladders climb steeply once you get past five of a kind.
- T-Rex pays 30.5x for three, 41x for four, 52x for five, 64x for six, 78x for seven and 815x for eight of a kind
- Triceratops pays 30.3x at three, 40.8x at four, 51.5x at five, 63x at six, 76x at seven and 812x at the full eight
That’s a steep curve. Three of a kind barely covers the spin, while a full eight-column run of either dinosaur is a serious hit. The gap between seven and eight is enormous: T-Rex jumps from 78x to 815x in a single extra column, and Triceratops does almost exactly the same. Because a Horde fills whole columns with one symbol, the eight-of-a-kind tiers aren’t decorative: they’re the exact outcome the whole game is built to chase.
Other symbols appear on the reels, including further dinosaur types alongside card-style icons, but the two ladders above are where the serious money sits. The smaller symbols fill the space between Hordes and keep the hit frequency ticking over.
Super Symbols and the Horde
The Super Symbol is the game’s centrepiece, and everything else on the board orbits it. It works as a sequence, and each step follows from the last.
- A Super Symbol lands and locks in place on the grid.
- On every following spin it moves one position to the left, staying locked.
- Any dinosaur of the same type landing vertically or horizontally adjacent to it locks and travels with it, forming the Horde.
- While the Horde moves, new matching dinosaurs landing adjacent to it join as well.
- The march ends only when the last symbol walks off the leftmost column.
Up to three Super Symbols can be on screen at once, but only of the same dinosaur type. There’s no mixing a T-Rex horde with a Triceratops one, so what you’re watching for is a single species taking over. A group that starts as two symbols can end up filling half the board.
Diagonal neighbours don’t count. A dinosaur has to land directly above, below or beside the Horde to lock on, which is why column position matters more than it first appears: a Horde travelling down a tall column has more chances to pick up passengers than one hugging a short edge column.
One detail worth knowing: locked symbols count as progress, and progress is saved separately at each bet level. Change your stake and you change which board state you return to, with different locked groups held at each level. A careful player can hold a promising Horde at one stake and come back to it later.
Free Spins
Landing three Free Spins symbols triggers the bonus round and awards 10 initial free spins. Before the first spin resolves, one dinosaur species is picked at random and as many as three Super Symbols of that type are dropped onto the reels, so the round opens with a Horde already forming rather than an empty grid.
The twist that makes the round work is the wrap-around. During Free Spins, any locked dinosaur symbol that exits on the leftmost side reappears from the rightmost side, so nothing is ever lost to the march. A Horde that reaches the edge simply comes back around and keeps collecting, and a big one can lap the board for the full round.
A Free Spins symbol landing during the round grants three additional free spins, stretching the collection window further. When the round finishes, locked tiles remain on the board, so the base game picks up where the bonus left off rather than resetting to an empty grid. The bonus round, in other words, is also a head start.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Most of your time here is spent watching a beautiful jungle do very little, and that’s honest, not damning: this is a game about waiting for one dinosaur to arrive and then watching a herd build around it. That’s the single reason anybody opens it, and when it works – a Horde swelling across seven columns – there’s nothing else in this format that builds tension the same way.
The Free Spins round is the strongest thing here, because the wrap-around means a big Horde never has to die while spins remain, and everything the round leaves behind carries back into the base game. The flat side is real, though. Outside a Horde the pays are small, there’s exactly one bonus round, and a run of Super Symbol silences can eat a session.
This is for players who like one mechanic, given room to breathe, and who don’t need a busy feature screen to stay interested. If a slow build across a gorgeous prehistoric clearing sounds like a good way to spend an evening, you’re who it was made for; anyone chasing constant action is better served elsewhere in the jungle.
