Search for Anubis Fortune Map Slot Review
A golden cartouche stands in the sand at dusk, three stacked panels carved x4, x2 and x1, glowing against an amber sunset over distant pyramids and low mud-brick buildings on the horizon. Search for Anubis Fortune Map pays you before it ever pays you: every map pick, every block and every rung of that ladder is credit banked in advance against a free spins round that starts already loaded. Most Egyptian slots treat the base game as a corridor to the treasure. This one makes the corridor the treasure, and whether that’s enough to carry a Super High volatility profile is the honest question of the next thousand words.
It’s Reflex running their Fortune Map format a second time, after Hot Diggity Dog Fortune Map, swapped from kennels to tombs. The grid is a 6×3 with Infinity paylines, the RTP is 96%, the volatility is Super High, and stakes run from 0.10 to 100. Alongside sit Get Kraken and 2 Fast 2 Fruity as the studio’s friendlier faces; this one is the deep dig.
Base Game & Features
The 6×3 grid is an odd shape for a modern video slot: wider than it is tall, five reels deep on the count that matters for symbol placement. Wins pay across Infinity paylines, meaning any left-to-right run of matching symbols on adjacent reels counts, with no fixed line map to consult. Only the highest combination pays.
Winning symbols pop and drop fresh ones in behind them. It’s a cascade system, so a single spin can chain several wins together, and each link in the chain feeds the multiplier ladder standing to the left of the reels. The pop-and-drop engine is the base game’s whole rhythm: symbols vanish, replacements fall, and the ladder quietly ticks upward while the desert glows behind it.
A wild symbol appears on the reels and substitutes for other symbols in winning combinations. Beside the grid, a Map Awards side panel tracks what the map has gathered, so nothing you pick up vanishes quietly.
The Multiplier Ladder
That golden cartouche isn’t decoration. It’s a multiplier ladder seen running from x1 to x10 across the panels observed, carved into three stacked panels, and it increments as play develops. Each win pushes the marker one rung higher:
- x1 – the resting value, where every round starts
- x2 – second panel, lit once the chain begins to build
- x4 – top panel, the ladder’s brightest step
- x10 – the highest value shown in the panels observed
The ladder climbs, the panel glows, the maths gets warmer. It’s a simple bit of theatre, but it gives the base game a visible destination between bonus triggers.
Golden Bet
The Golden Bet is a toggle rather than a feature round. Switching it on costs you at stake level and buys you frequency in return:
- Boosted frequency of free spins triggers
- Boosted frequency of map triggers
- A higher stake per spin while it’s active
For a game this volatile, shortening the road to the bonus is a legitimate strategy rather than a luxury. The toggle sits in the UI throughout play, so the choice stays yours spin by spin.
Search for Anubis Fortune Map Free Spins & Bonus Features
Four moving parts make up the bonus structure, and they’re chained together rather than sitting as separate events:
- Fortune Map – two Bonus symbols open the map for searching
- Scatter route – two scatters also open the map
- Pyramid Build – blocks from the map stack into a pyramid
- Free Spins – three or more Bonus symbols in view award the round
The Fortune Map
Two Bonus symbols, or two scatters, unlock the map. This is the game’s centrepiece, a picking exercise dressed as tomb exploration, and everything else in the bonus structure feeds from what the map hands over. The blocks you pull from it aren’t just prizes. They build the pyramid.
Dual trigger routes matter more than they look. A game that opens its map on pairs, from either symbol family, is handing out more entry tickets than the usual three-scatter gate, and at Super High volatility every extra door into the bonus counts.
Pyramid Build
Pyramid Build takes the blocks collected from the map and stacks them into a pyramid. It’s the connective tissue of the design: map picks produce blocks, blocks produce a structure, and the structure carries forward into the round that matters. Nothing is won and discarded; everything is won and kept.
The pyramid also gives the map picks a shape you can watch grow. A partially built stack on screen is a running tally of what the bonus round already holds, which is a nicer piece of feedback than a number ticking up in a corner.
Free Spins
Land three or more Bonus symbols in view and the round begins. The pop-and-drop cascade engine stays live through it, so chains of wins stack the multiplier ladder while the free plays run. Everything the map gathered before the trigger arrives with you, pyramid and all:
- Blocks already banked from map picks
- The pyramid’s progress, carried into the round
- Map Awards collected in the side panel
- The ladder’s climbing multipliers, live on every cascade
That carry-over is the whole point of the format. The round doesn’t start from zero; it starts from whatever the base game has already assembled.
Bonus Buy
A Buy a Bonus button sits in the top-right corner of the play frame, offering a direct route past the base game. Given a Super High volatility rating and a 25.47% hit frequency on the standard reels, the shortcut will tempt plenty of players. Roughly one spin in four connects; the rest are fodder for the ladder.
The buy tiers aren’t published, so check the button in-game before committing. Whatever the price, you’re paying to skip a base game whose entire job is assembling the pyramid, which is worth weighing before you pay to miss it.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
This is archaeology, not treasure hunting. You spend long stretches in a beautiful, dim desert picking at a map two symbols at a time, watching a pyramid rise one block at a time, and the reward for that patience is a free spins round that arrives already carrying everything you dug up. That carry-over is the one reason to choose it: the round you get is the round you spent the whole session building.
The best thing here is that nothing is wasted. Map picks feed blocks, blocks feed the pyramid, the pyramid rides into free spins, and the ladder climbs through all of it. The worst thing is that the 10,000x maximum win sits at the bottom of a very deep tomb, and at Super High volatility you’re asked to dig a long way to reach it.
It’s a fine tomb for the patient, with a 10,000x maximum win to chase, and a poor one for anyone who wants a bonus that arrives fast. Anubis rewards the thorough, and has little time for everyone else.
