Sleighin It Slot Review
Santa has traded the reindeer for a truck, the sleigh for a stack of mystery symbols, and the naughty list for a four-tier progressive jackpot. That’s the picture on the reels of Sleighin It, a Christmas slot from Betsoft that runs on a 5×4 grid with 30 fixed paylines and high volatility. The real money here doesn’t sit in the paytable; it sits on a linked jackpot ladder shared with select other Betsoft games.
It sits in familiar company for the studio, alongside titles like The King of Social Media Holiday and Golden Dragon Inferno. A festive skin with a serious ladder underneath it, then, and the spins have to say which half is doing the work.
Base Game and Symbols
The game pays left to right across its 30 fixed paylines, with only the highest win per line counting and coinciding wins on different lines combined into a single payout. The gift box wild substitutes for everything except the Bonus scatter.
Beyond that, the base game’s rhythm comes from the stacked mystery symbols, with a random wild reel feature waiting in the wings.
Stacked Mystery Symbols
Each reel carries stacked mystery symbol positions, and before every spin they’re all replaced with one random symbol drawn from the paying set. Every mystery position on the grid fills with the same symbol on that spin. A fortunate alignment can put a full stack of Santas, reindeer or trucks across several reels at once.
The mystery positions can turn into any of the paying symbols: Santa, the reindeer, the truck, the girl, or any of the five coloured ornaments. Which one arrives is decided fresh on each spin. There’s no way to influence it.
The paytable is modest at the top and thin at the bottom.
- Santa: 0.50 for two, 1.25 for three, 4.00 for four, 10.00 for five
- Reindeer: 0.25 / 1.00 / 2.00 / 5.00 for two to five
- Truck: 0.75 / 1.00 / 2.50 for three to five
- Girl: 0.50 / 0.75 / 1.50 for three to five
- Red and Green Ornaments (A, K): 0.25 / 0.40 / 0.75 for three to five
- Orange and Blue Ornaments (Q, J): 0.10 / 0.25 / 0.50 for three to five
- Purple Ornament (10): 0.25 for four, 0.50 for five
Payouts scale dynamically with the selected bet, so those figures shift proportionally as the stake moves. The Bonus scatter, a red sack, pays nothing itself but appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 as the ticket into the pick round. Three scatters in view at once is all it takes.
Progressive Jackpot Feature
No symbols trigger this one. It’s a mystery feature that fires randomly after the reels have stopped, and the chances of it firing rise with the size of the bet. When it hits, one spin of the progressive reel is awarded, and a Mini, Minor, Major or Mega prize is the outcome.
The jackpot is linked with select other Betsoft games and resets to its latest pool value after a win. If free spins and the jackpot trigger on the same spin, the jackpot takes priority and is played at the bet of the triggering spin. The whole feature resolves on that single spin of the progressive reel.
At a 1.50 stake, the four tiers read 9,500 for the Mini, 31,200 for the Minor, 52,500 for the Major and 75,000 for the Mega. Because the pool is progressive and shared across games, those figures move. The Mega in particular can climb well past its reset value before somebody claims it.
Mystery Wild Reels
Any base game spin can randomly award the Mystery Wild Reels feature. Between one and three full wild reels are granted, held in place until the reels stop and all winning combinations are evaluated and paid. It’s played at the bet of the triggering spin.
Three held wild reels across a 5×4 grid is a serious sight, since every payline they touch is effectively complete. Stack that on top of the mystery symbols filling the remaining reels with one symbol, and the ingredients for a full-screen win are all there. The feature doesn’t appear during free spins.
Pick Bonus and Wandering Wild Reel Free Spins
Bonus scatters landing on reels 1, 3 and 5 in a single spin trigger the Pick Bonus, which hands you a choice of four free spins packages:
- 20 free spins with 1 wandering wild reel
- 12 free spins with 2 wandering wild reels
- 8 free spins with 3 wandering wild reels
- Mystery Choice: 20, 12 or 8 free spins with 1, 2 or 3 wandering wild reels
During the round, the wandering wild reel moves position with each free spin, so the action shifts from reel to reel rather than camping in one place. More reels means more coverage per spin; more spins means more chances for the wandering to land somewhere useful. Stacked mystery symbols remain active in free spins mode.
The restrictions matter when choosing. Free spins can’t be retriggered, and neither the Progressive Jackpot Feature nor the Mystery Wild Reels feature is available during the round. Spins play out at the bet of the triggering spin, so the package you pick is the package you get.
Buy Feature
Anyone who’d rather not wait for the scatters can go straight to free spins through the Buy Feature button, picking whichever of the four packages suits them. Prices are shown in the buy panel at the point of purchase. Whatever the panel asks, it buys the round outright, with no random element unless you take the Mystery Choice.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
Sleighin It is a Christmas slot that keeps its best ideas in the base game. Stacked mystery symbols filling every position with one symbol, plus up to three held wild reels arriving unannounced, means an ordinary spin can turn into a full-grid celebration, and that’s where the game’s real energy lives.
The free spins round is the quieter half. The wandering wild reel is a genuinely good mechanic, and choosing your own spin-to-reel ratio is a proper decision rather than a fake one, but the round strips out the jackpot and the mystery wild reels and can’t retrigger, so it plays flatter than the game that surrounds it.
The strength is the linked four-tier ladder, whose Mega climbs well past a ceiling the paytable alone never suggests. The weakness is that paytable, so the line wins are decoration next to the jackpots and the wild reels. For jackpot chasers and seasonal players, this is one of the more interesting presents under Betsoft’s tree.
