The Golden Touch Slot Review
Marble columns and a row of little golden temple doors frame a sunlit palace hall, with a deep red carpet running off towards the back of the screen. The Midas legend usually plays as a curse; TaDa Gaming has built it as a compounding machine instead. The interesting thing about this game isn’t the gilt on the walls, it’s that its wilds grow the longer a round lasts, which pushes the myth into the maths where it can actually pay.
The Golden Touch runs on a 5×3 grid with stakes from 0.2 to 200 per spin and a payout ceiling of 15,000x the bet. No RTP or volatility rating is published for it, which is unusual. The studio’s other recent titles, including 3 Bao Riches and Gold Mine Express, lean on respin-and-multiplier engines, and this one pushes that habit about as far as it goes.
Base Game & Features
The base game is built around two wilds, and the difference between them is where all the interest sits. The regular WILD appears on all five reels and carries a x2 multiplier. When more than one WILD forms part of the same win, their multipliers multiply together.
Two of them on a line pays at x4 before the symbol value is counted. That’s the whole of the regular wild’s job.
Epic Wild
The Epic Wild is the game’s engine. It starts at a x2 multiplier as well, but every Respin it survives increases that multiplier: by +1 in the base game, and by +2 in the free spins. On landing, it sticks every symbol that forms a winning combination, then respins the rest of the reels until no new winning symbols or wilds appear.
Each new win in that sequence locks into place and rolls the multiplier up again before the next respin. A chain of respins is therefore a chain of rising multipliers applied to a growing stack of held symbols. That’s how a single spin in this game turns into a round.
Gift of Midas
Each spin has a random chance to trigger the Gift of Midas, which resolves as one of two events. A Scatter Event adds between 1 and 5 extra Scatters onto the reels; a Wild Event adds between 1 and 5 extra WILD or Epic Wild symbols.
Either can turn an unremarkable spin into something. The wild version is the one that can set a respin chain running.
Paytable
There are eleven paying symbols. The values below are shown at a 0.6 stake, for five, four and three of a kind; the paytable is dynamic, so the figures scale with your chosen bet level. Only the highest win is paid on each payline.
- Top symbol: 6 / 3.6 / 1.2
- Second symbol: 3 / 2.4 / 0.6
- Third symbol: 2.4 / 1.8 / 0.48
- Fourth symbol: 1.8 / 1.2 / 0.36
- Fifth symbol: 1.5 / 0.9 / 0.3
- Sixth symbol: 1.2 / 0.6 / 0.12
- Seventh symbol: 0.9 / 0.36 / 0.12
- Eighth symbol: 0.75 / 0.36 / 0.12
- Ninth symbol: 0.6 / 0.18 / 0.06
- Tenth symbol: 0.6 / 0.18 / 0.06
- Eleventh symbol: 0.6 / 0.18 / 0.06
Extra Bet
Toggle the EX button and you get a choice of two side bets. Extra Bet 1 costs a 1.5x bet multiplier and highly increases the probability of triggering the free spins from the base game.
Extra Bet 2 costs a 5x bet multiplier and converts every WILD into an Epic Wild, in both the base game and the free spins. The two are summarised below.
- Extra Bet 1: 1.5x bet multiplier, boosted Free Game trigger chance in the base game
- Extra Bet 2: 5x bet multiplier, all WILDs become Epic Wilds throughout
Winnings in extra bet mode are calculated on the normal bet settings against the paytable, and feature rounds play out at the same bet as the spin that triggered them. A round ends immediately when the 15,000x payout multiplier is reached, with everything paid out.
The Golden Touch Free Spins & Bonus Features
Landing Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Game. The awards step up gently rather than dramatically:
- 3 Scatters: 8 free spins
- 4 Scatters: 10 free spins
- 5+ Scatters: 12 free spins
If Scatters land during an Epic Wild respin, the trigger and the spin count are decided by the total Scatters accumulated across that whole round, not just the final respin. It’s a generous reading of the rules. A respin chain can build a trigger that a single spin wouldn’t have managed.
Inside the Free Game
Every free spin guarantees at least one Epic Wild, and its multiplier grows by +2 on each Respin rather than +1. The bigger change is structural: all Epic Wilds in the Free Game share a single multiplier, which carries over from spin to spin and keeps accumulating until the round ends.
A multiplier built on spin 3 is still working for you on spin 11. That persistence is the round’s whole character.
Retriggers
Every Scatter that lands during any free spin or Epic Wild respin feeds a progress bar. Each time 3 Scatters accumulate, 2 extra free spins are added.
The bar doesn’t reset between spins; it carries on filling until the round ends. Scatters are never wasted, even when they arrive one at a time.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing The Golden Touch is mostly watching a palace and waiting for something gold to stick. The reason to pick it is the free spins, where one multiplier builds and builds across the whole round and never resets, so a good round keeps getting better the longer it runs.
That shared multiplier is the best thing here: it turns a bonus from a series of independent spins into a single escalating thing, which is rarer than it should be. The worst thing is everything outside it. The base game is thin, the Gift of Midas is a coin flip that does nothing most times, and nothing about the maths or the side bet pricing is published, so you can’t check what the Extra Bet is actually buying.
This one’s for players who like a long build and are happy to sit through quiet stretches for a round that snowballs. Anyone who wants frequent small wins or stated numbers to trust should look elsewhere. Midas had to wait for his gold too, and for the patient type, this palace eventually delivers it.
