Three Bao Riches Slot Review
Three bamboo steamers sit on lit gas burners above the reels, each ringed with pleated buns and topped with a little gold carry handle, dried chillies and corn cobs hanging on the pantry wall behind them. That warm golden glow is doing more work here than it should have to.
Three Bao Riches is a hold-and-win collect game dressed in its best kitchen whites, and the cooking is considerably more familiar than the presentation suggests. Tada Gaming have built the whole thing around those steamers: scatters collect into the pots and fire bonus modifiers.
The game plays on 243 ways to win at medium volatility, with stakes from 0.2 to 200 and a maximum win of 2,100x your bet. There’s no RTP figure published for this one.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay across 243 ways, so matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left form a combination regardless of position. It’s a standard ways setup, and it means the base game produces wins often, even when most of them are small.
A 1×3 expanding Wild lands only on reels 2, 3 and 4, substitutes for everything except the scatter triggers and the Golden Steamer, and always expands to fill its entire reel whenever it’s part of a winning combination. Two or three of them can land on the same spin, which keeps the balance ticking over between features.
The Steamer Pots and Their Modifiers
The three steamers above the reels aren’t decoration. Each one holds a bonus modifier, and landing the matching scatter on the reels collects it into its pot. From there, that steamer has a chance to trigger its feature.
- Extra Spins – starts the Free Game on four resetting lives instead of three
- Double Up – adds a second reel set that plays out alongside the first
- Boost – the third modifier, and the one our demo session never saw in action
A steamer can pop after a single collection or take a hundred; it’s completely random. They also fire individually or in combination with one another, so a single Free Game entry can carry two or even all three modifiers at once.
The Golden Steamer
The Golden Steamer appears only on reel 1 in the base game. When it lands alongside feature scatters on the same spin, those scatters are guaranteed to trigger, and up to three Free Games can fire simultaneously. It’s the reliable way in, and it’s how our demo session finally reached the bonus, with two modifiers attached.
Each simultaneous trigger carries its own modifier set, determined by the scatter combination that fired it. Three Free Games at once means three independent rounds playing out, each building its own tally. In practice the Golden Steamer usually delivers one or two, which is exciting enough when the pots have been sitting full for a while.
There’s no feature buy and no ante bet. The steamers are the only road to the bonus, which makes every scatter that lands worth watching.
Three Bao Riches Bonus Features & Free Spins
The Free Game awards 3 spins, and the scatter combination that got you in decides which modifiers come along: Extra Spins, Double Up, Boost, or a mix. The round plays at the same bet it was triggered with, and extra scatters landing inside reset the remaining spin count. The entry terms, in full:
- Entry is decided by the scatter combination that triggered it
- Modifiers awarded: Extra Spins, Double Up, Boost, or combinations of these
- Bet amount inside matches the bet at the moment of the trigger
- Up to three Free Games can run simultaneously
- No additional feature effects are awarded once inside the round
Inside, the round works as an accumulating collect feature. Reels fill with values, the steamers above them sweep those values into a running tally, and that tally is added to your endgame win. The ladder runs like this:
- Fill all three positions on a reel with values
- The dumpling steamer above that reel collects everything the reel holds and keeps it in a running tally
- The reel activates, lighting its indicator
- Light all five indicators and the grand jackpot pays
Double Up
When Double Up comes along, a second reel set joins the round and runs its own collection independently. Burn through the lives on one set and the other carries on accumulating, which works out close to an extra lifeline. Paired with Extra Spins, it’s the combination that carried our session’s single bonus round, and the pairing is the one worth hoping for.
The Steamer Jackpot
Collect three of a Steamer symbol within a round and the wins from all three are collected and unlocked, lighting that round’s indicator. Light every indicator across all five reels and the grand jackpot pays at the 1,000x mark. That’s the target the whole bonus builds towards.
The round ends immediately once the maximum payout multiplier of 2,100x is reached, a payout of 420,000, guaranteed within 100,000,000 rounds of play. No further feature effects are awarded inside the Free Game itself; what you trigger with is what you get.
Our Honest Verdict
A session here is mostly waiting in a very pleasant kitchen, and the waiting is the reason to sit down at all: watching the pots fill, wondering whether the Golden Steamer will land before your patience runs out. The kitchen itself is the best thing in the game. It’s glossy, warm and genuinely charming, and it makes a familiar engine feel like somewhere you’d happily linger.
The weakness is that the engine never surprises you. Every mechanic is one you’ve played a dozen times, the 2,100x ceiling is modest for medium volatility, and a full demo session produced a single bonus round.
It’s a good fit for players who enjoy a simple collect-and-hold round with modifiers stacking up, and who’d rather the charm come from the artwork than the maths. Anyone after real depth or a serious ceiling will find the menu here a little light, but there’s warmth in this kitchen, and it doesn’t run out.
Three Bao Riches FAQs
-
How do you trigger the Free Game in Three Bao Riches?
Landing scatter symbols collects them into the matching steamer above the reels, which can then trigger the Free Game at random. The Golden Steamer on reel 1, landing alongside feature scatters, guarantees the trigger, and up to three Free Games can fire at once. -
What does the Double Up modifier do?
Double Up adds a second reel set, and both play out separately. If you lose all your lives on one reel set, the other continues accumulating, effectively giving you a second chance at the round. -
How does the Steamer Jackpot work?
Collecting three of a Steamer symbol within a round lights that round’s indicator and unlocks the wins it holds. Light every indicator across all five reels during the Free Game and the grand jackpot, worth 1,000x, is awarded. -
Can the Free Game be retriggered?
Yes. Additional scatters landing during the Free Game reset the remaining spin count, and the Extra Spins modifier starts you on four resetting lives rather than three. -
What is the maximum win in Three Bao Riches?
The maximum win is 2,100x your bet, a payout of 420,000, guaranteed within 100,000,000 rounds of play. The round ends immediately once that cap is reached. -
Is there a bonus buy or ante bet in Three Bao Riches?
No. There’s no feature buy and no ante bet option; the only route to the Free Game is collecting scatters into the steamers or landing the Golden Steamer on reel 1. -
What are the three steamer modifiers in Three Bao Riches?
Extra Spins, which starts the Free Game on four resetting lives instead of three; Double Up, which adds a second reel set that plays out alongside the first; and Boost. They can trigger individually or in combination with one another. -
Where does the Wild appear in Three Bao Riches?
The Wild is a 1×3 symbol that lands only on reels 2, 3 and 4. It substitutes for all symbols except the scatter triggers and the Golden Steamer, and whenever it’s partially involved in a win it always expands to fill its entire reel.
