Dollar Vault Slot Review
Daylight pours through tall arched windows onto a polished parquet floor, flanked by pale stone columns, and a chrome-plated safe with a golden pig-snout dial gleams at either side of the reels. For all that gloss, TaDa Gaming have built Dollar Vault so that a single square in the middle of the grid decides whether your spin matters: the wild only ever lands there, and until it does, the reels are mostly decoration around a locked vault.
It runs on a 5×3 grid with 40 fixed paylines, with stakes from 0.2 to 200 per spin and a maximum payout multiplier of 10,000x. No RTP figure is published for it. If the vault imagery appeals, TaDa’s 3 Bao Riches and 3 Dragons’ Coin cover similar ground, as does Bison Fortune Coins.
How the Base Game Pays
Wins pay left to right across the 40 fixed paylines, with at least three identical symbols needed for a prize. Only the highest win counts per line, and wins on multiple paylines add together. Straightforward stuff.
The wild is a pig in a top hat. It substitutes for every symbol except the Bonus, and it only ever appears in the centre special spot, which makes that single position the busiest real estate on the reels.
It’s a dynamic paytable, so the symbol values scale with your chosen bet. Quoted at a stake of 0.6, the nine symbol tiers pay:
- Top tier: 1.8 for five, 0.72 for four, 0.36 for three
- Second tier: 1.5, 0.6, 0.3
- Third tier: 1.2, 0.48, 0.24
- Fourth tier: 0.9, 0.36, 0.18
- Fifth tier: 0.6, 0.24, 0.12
- Sixth tier: 0.6, 0.24, 0.12
- Seventh tier: 0.6, 0.24, 0.12
- Eighth tier: 0.3, 0.12, 0.06
- Ninth tier: 0.3, 0.12, 0.06
That’s a flat paytable. The values step down gently from tier to tier and none of them will move your balance much, so the base game’s line wins are pocket change by design, and the real money sits in the locked Bonus symbols and the features they feed.
Bonus Symbols and the Prize Ladder
Bonus symbols can appear at random on any spin: the Mega, Grand, Major, Minor and Mini badges, plus plain coins. They land locked. When a wild shows up in the centre spot, every Bonus symbol on the reels unlocks and pays out on the spot.
The prizes are fixed multiples of your bet rather than a progressive pot:
- Mega: 1,000x
- Grand: 100x
- Major: 50x
- Minor: 20x
- Mini: 5x
- Coin: 0.3x to 3x
The ladder is on show above the reels, sized to your current bet, and it’s available at every stake level. Bonus symbols can also trigger multiple times within a single game, so the payouts can stack across a spin sequence.
Free Games
In the base game, whenever a wild appears, coins are thrown towards one or two vaults, and each vault offers a chance to trigger six Free Games. Once you’re in, the wild locks into the centre special spot for the duration.
The row containing that centre position transforms into Expanded Spots, and any Bonus symbols landing in them after a spin set off the Expanded Wheel. There’s a chance to retrigger additional Free Games during the round, with no stated cap.
Two details matter. After Free Games trigger, the triggering vault resets to its minimum level, and the vault’s level has no effect on triggering again, so there’s no grinding a vault up to earn better odds. Free Games run at the same bet as the triggering spin, and their wins are added to everything else.
Special Coin
Special coins appear only on the grid, in both the base game and Free Games. On their own they do nothing. Land one at the same time as a wild, though, and it triggers: the coin scatters random multiplier prizes to other positions across the grid.
Once the scattering finishes, the coin itself transforms into a random multiplier prize. Because the wild only ever sits in the centre spot, every special coin on the grid is one spin away from paying.
Expanded Wheel
The Expanded Wheel is the game’s biggest round, and it begins from a 2×2 grid. Only empty spots and Bonus symbols appear on it. Each spot spins, and if the entire grid fills with Bonus symbols, the Wheel expands by one row and one column, and the new spots spin again.
The wheel can keep growing to a maximum of 5×5. Fill that whole grid with Bonus symbols and an additional Mega Bonus is awarded on top. If any spin leaves the grid unfilled, the round ends, and every Bonus symbol win on the wheel is settled to the Collect symbol.
Order of operations counts: if there are winning lines or other bonus symbols on the main grid, those pay out first, before the Expanded Wheel is evaluated. That means a big wheel never cannibalises the wins that triggered around it.
One housekeeping rule worth knowing: a game round ends immediately when the maximum payout multiplier is reached, with all winnings paid out. And the maximum payout multiplier can be won within 100,000,000 rounds of play, which is a frank way of saying don’t hold your breath.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
Playing Dollar Vault is a waiting game dressed as a bank. You spin, the piggy-bank safes gleam, the paytable pays pennies, and the whole session turns on whether that centre spot produces a wild. That’s also the reason to pick it: no other square in the game matters as much, and when it hits, everything opens at once.
The Expanded Wheel is the strength, and it’s not close. A grid that grows from 2×2 to 5×5, with a Mega Bonus waiting on a full board, is a proper climax, and the ladder resetting after every trigger keeps the round honest rather than grindy.
The flat paytable is the weakness. Nine tiers of symbols that never pay enough to notice means long stretches where nothing lands, and the game does nothing to hide it. This one suits players who enjoy a single-hinge build and the patience it asks for; anyone who wants regular symbol wins to carry a session will find the vault stays shut.
