Top Cat Slot Review
Top Cat’s alley is still exactly as the cartoon left it: a battered silver dustbin with its lid askew, a red post box on the fence post, pale blue high-rises stacked behind the reels. Blueprint Gaming has buried this game’s most generous material in features that fire at random, leaving the paytable to do very little. It’s a bet that the licence and the surprises can carry a 20-line game its own line wins can’t.
Five features plus a progressive jackpot system sit on a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines, at a 94% RTP. The studio’s bench includes Ted and The Goonies, and the gang returned in Top Cat Dining For Dollars in 2026. The original stays the more feature-heavy of the pair.
Base Game & Features
Wins land the traditional way: two to five matching symbols on a played line, running left to right across consecutive reels. Only the highest combination on each line pays, and wins across different lines add together. Scatter wins, meaning the bonus triggers, are added on top of any line wins.
Line wins are multiplied by the value bet on the winning line. Stakes are set through a single total bet menu, and the options you see depend on operator configuration and currency equivalent, so the range varies by casino. Autoplay comes with its own settings panel, including session loss and win limits.
Symbols and Pays
All values below are multiples of the total bet.
- Wild: 1x for two, 25x for three, 100x for four, 250x for five
- Super-Stacked cards: pay 1x on a pair, climbing through 20x and 50x to 200x at five
- Top Cat character: from 10x at three up to 150x for a full line of five
- Lion character: worth 5x, 30x or 100x for three, four or five
- A / K: 2x at three, 20x at four, 50x at five
- Q / J: the smallest pays on the board at 2x, 5x and 25x
The wild tops the lot and substitutes for every symbol except one. The super-stacked cards are the richest regular symbol. Because they arrive stacked, they can fill whole reels at a time, and that’s where the bigger base game wins come from.
A full five-of-a-kind of wilds returns 250x the total bet. The card royals below them pay modestly by comparison. The gap between a top hit and an average one is wide, and the features carry most of the work of closing it.
Top Cat Bonus Features & Free Spins
The Masterplan
Bonus symbols landing on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the same spin award The Masterplan, the game’s headline feature. It hands you five Tip Top Bonus Rounds, and the plans you reveal inside the bonus determine which of those rounds you actually play. Five different bonuses can come out of a single trigger:
- Cash Picker Bonus
- Maharajah Heist Bonus
- Diner Free Spins Bonus
- Dibble’s Free Spins Bonus
- Construction Site Wilds Bonus
The reveal structure gives the trigger a pick-and-see quality that a straight free spins award doesn’t have. Two of the five rounds are free spins variants, one is a picking game, and one is a heist. So the outcome of one trigger varies quite a bit depending on which plans turn up.
Random Gang Features
Outside the Masterplan, four character modifiers can fire at random during any spin: Choo’s Piano Wilds, Benny’s Colossal TV, Fancy-Fancy’s Water Wilds and Spook’s Mice is Nice. Each is named after a member of the crew, and each sees Top Cat and the gang hatch a scheme to earn you some dollar.
There’s also TC’s Call or Nothing, where the gang can award all manner of prizes and capers on any given spin. Between these and the four named modifiers, a 20-line game carries an unusual amount of random surface area. On any spin, something beyond the paylines can happen.
Fancy Nancy’s Hot Dog Respins
Landing a full stack on reel five sets this one off. The reels then respin while the Hot Dog Wild steps one reel to the left on each respin, working its way across the grid as the round plays out. It’s a simple walking-wild format with a food-cart twist.
Jackpot King
The Jackpot King is Blueprint’s shared progressive system, and it can switch on at random during any spin. First you spin to collect crowns, and the more crowns you gather, the bigger the total bet multiplier you’re playing for.
Next comes a pick from the King’s Treasure to increase your prize, and the Wheel King round sits at the end of the sequence, offering huge wins and a shot at the progressive pot itself. A three-tier ladder runs continuously in the top bar: two Royal Pots flanking the central Jackpot King pot.
The pots are live progressive counters, reading 1,032.47, 929.66 and 5,000.96 at a stake of two. Those figures climb with play and reset when they drop, so nothing about them is fixed. Autoplay stops automatically on a jackpot win.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing Top Cat feels like waiting for the gang’s next scheme: the line wins are small change, the alley barely moves, and then something fires at random and the whole frame comes alive. That’s the reason to choose it over glossier licences. The cartoon is genuinely here, dustbin and all, and the crew’s plans give a plain 20-liner more surprises per hundred spins than it has any right to.
The Masterplan is the strongest thing in the game, because a trigger that can unpack five different bonuses never plays out the same way twice. The paytable is the weak one: a 250x ceiling on the wild and 200x on the best regular symbol means the base game can’t pay its own way, and everything above small change rides on features and pots landing kindly.
This one suits fans of the cartoon and players who like a slot that keeps dealing surprises from a modest frame. Anyone after a stated big-win ceiling or a paytable that rewards patience should pass it by. The alley’s still warm, and the gang are still in it.
