Wild Toro 2 Slot Review

Red capes at the ready, Wild Toro is back and he’s bigger and angrier than ever in Wild Toro 2 by Elk Studios!

It’s been a fair few years since we’ve seen Wild Toro in action. Wild Toro was released in 2016 and it quickly became one of Elk Studio’s most popular slots for a very good reason. The charming demeanour of the bovine bone breaker Wild Toro was hard to ignore, and many enjoyed seeing him stick it to a matador who was no match for Wild Toro.

It was only natural that Wild Toro would eventually get a sequel, and now it’s here and Toro has seen red once more.

Can Wild Toro 2 capture the hearts of those that loved the original? and will it reel in some new fans?

Getting gored by Toro certainly wouldn’t be a pleasant experience, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t want him to trample all over this matador once more.

We’ll be ‘grabbing the bull by the horns’ figuratively speaking in this Wild Toro 2 slot review as we wait in anticipation for Toro to show us what he’s made of once more.

Wild Toro 2 Base Game

Wild Toro 2 Theme

The very essence of Wild Toro has been kept very much alive in this sequel. If you’re very familiar with the first slot then one of the biggest changes you’ll notice is the background.

Wild Toro 2 gives a very in depth look at a stereotypical Spanish town in all its glory, with market stalls, buildings and even a castle. The original Wild Toro was quite good on the graphical front anyway, but Elk Studios has definitely taken it up a notch in Wild Toro 2.

Perhaps the most striking thing about Wild Toro 2 is the audio. The Spanish music sounds proudly in the background, and the stud and the star of the show Toro chimes in now and again whispering seductive sweet nothings to his beloved Maria. Quite sensual indeed, or maybe not? We don’t speak Spanish unfortunately, but it certainly sounds suggestive.

Overall, it’s great to see Toro back and he’s still smiling along side his adversary matador, but will he be smiling for long?

Wild Toro 2 Base Game and Features

Wild Toro 2 is a 5 reel slot with 259-502 connected ways to win. To form a win you will need to land 3 or more of the same symbols from left to right, starting from the left most reel.

The base game in Wild Toro 2 looks harmless enough, that is until you see the damage that can be done in the Matador Feature and Toro Goes Berzerk Respins!

Matador Feature

To trigger the Matador feature you will need to land one or more Matadors in view, once this happens each Matador adds an additional row of symbols onto the reel, up to a maximum of 8 rows.

  • 5 Rows – 259 Connecting Paylines
  • 6 Rows – 340 Connecting Paylines
  • 7 Rows – 421 Connecting Paylines
  • 8 Rows – 502 Connecting Paylines

The Matador symbols that are present will move to the left until they walk off the left-most reel, generating 1 respin for each step. All Matador symbols appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

There are three different Matador symbols up for grabs.

  • Black Matador – Walking Blocker Symbol
  • Silver Matador – Walking WIld Symbol
  • Gold Matador – Walking Multiplier Wild – Multiplier increases with every respin

During this feature you will have the opportunity to land more Matadors and possibly the Wild Toro symbols.

Wild Toro 2 Matador Feature

Wild Toro 2 Toro Goes Berzerk Respins

Landing a Toro symbol during the Matador feature, or landing one or more Matadors when the Toro symbol is in view will trigger Toro Goes Berzerk Respins!

The Toro symbol is a walking Wild that awards respins as he moves. During the Toro Goes Berzerk feature, Toro leaves Wilds behind as he rams into the Matador, knocking him off the reels and defeating him. Toro will continue to attack until all Matadors are removed.

If Toro knocks off any Gold Matadors, he absorbs their Multipliers and automatically becomes a walking Multiplier Wild.Toro’s Multiplier will then increase as he moves to the left, awarding Respins.

Additional Toro symbols that land will inherit the current Multiplier from the Toro already in play.

Respins will end when there are no Toro or Matador symbols left in view.

Wild Toro 2 X-iter Feature

Wild Toro 2 welcomes the return of Elk’s X-iter feature, which offers 5 different games modes to players who want to buy in. Unfortunately this is within Bonus Buy territory, so this feature won’t be available to players in the UK

  • 100% Win – Guarantees a winning game round for the cost of 5x your bet
  • Sticky Wilds – 1 Spin with a guaranteed Expanding Matador Respins feature at the cost of 25x your bet

  • Big Bonus – 3 Spins with at least 1 Expanding Matador Respins Feature at the cost of 250x your bet. All Wild Symbols during respins remain sticky
  • Super Bonus – 3 Spins with at least 1 Expanding Matador Respins Feature at the cost of 500x your bet. . All Wild Symbols during respins remain sticky. An achieved level of expansion remains persistent between spins and the highest multiplier value achieved in a spin is added to any Gold Matador Multiplier that appears.

Wild Toro 2: Our Verdict

It may not be that long since Elk Studios graced us with the first Wild Toro, but they’ve come a long way since then.

They’ve done extremely well in keeping the essence of the first one alive while opening up the world of Wild Toro even further in the sequel with improved graphics and an overall better experience. It doesn’t just stop at visuals either, gameplay has been significantly improved with features that trigger with ease when compared to how they worked previously, and the potential here far exceeds that of the original with 10,000x capabilities.

RTP is pretty much the only thing that makes you feel like you’ve been struck by the bulls horns here at 95%, but it’s forgivable given how good everything else looks.

Overall, If you were a big fan of Wild Toro, then the chances are that you’re gonna love what Elk Studios has done with the sequel.
