WizBang Brawl 10K Ways Slot Review
A wizard’s chamber at night, carved pillars and smoking cauldrons, braziers coughing green and turquoise flame beneath a glowing orb set into the archway over the reels. WizBang Brawl 10K Ways spends almost nothing on its base game on purpose: the regular paytable is thin even by 10K Ways standards, and every serious prize in the game has been moved into a single battle round that scatters can also hand you before a punch is thrown.
ReelPlay have built it on six reels with a top reel feeding extra symbols into the grid, up to 10,000 ways to win, running at 94.0% RTP with high volatility and a ceiling of 6,108x the stake. The studio has covered this ground before, from Atlantis 10K Ways to Hercules 10K Ways, but neither of those put a wizard in a fistfight.
Base Game & Features
Six reels sit inside the carved stone frame, each with variable row heights, and a top reel adds an extra symbol above the main grid on every spin. That extra row is what pushes the ways count up to 10,000 at the top of its range. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, and only the highest combination per way counts.
The symbols on the grid are a gang of rival wizards plus the usual royal run, and the top reel carries the same mix, portraits and letters perched above the main action. Stakes run from 0.20 to 40 per spin, and the game runs at a hit rate of 24.52%, so something lands on roughly one spin in four.
The Gold Wizard wild substitutes for all symbols except the scatter, and in the base game it only appears on that top reel. The scatter is a purple chest icon, and it pays its way into the feature rather than forming part of the standard paytable. Land five or more and the Battle Spins Feature begins.
All paytable values are multiples of the total bet:
- Orange Devil Wizard: 2x, 5x, 10x, 30x, 100x for two to six of a kind
- Purple Skull Wizard: 0.5x, 1.5x, 2.5x, 5x for three to six
- Blue Bird Wizard: 0.25x, 0.75x, 1.5x, 2.5x for three to six
- Green Wizard: 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x for three to six
- A: 0.2x, 0.3x, 0.6x, 1.2x for three to six
- K: 0.15x, 0.3x, 0.6x, 1x for three to six
- Q: 0.15x, 0.3x, 0.5x, 0.9x for three to six
- J: 0.15x, 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.7x for three to six
- 10: 0.1x, 0.25x, 0.4x, 0.6x for three to six
- 9: 0.1x, 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.5x for three to six
The shape of those wins matters more than the frequency. The Orange Devil Wizard is the only symbol that pays anything at two of a kind, and its 100x six-of-a-kind is the best the regular grid offers on its own. Everything above that lives in the feature.
Below it, the four wizard symbols step down gently: the Purple Skull Wizard tops out at 5x, the Blue Bird and Green Wizards at 2.5x and 2x. The royals are tightly bunched, with the 9 paying no more than 0.5x even at six of a kind. It’s a paytable built so the base game returns small change and the battles hold the money.
WizBang Brawl 10K Ways Bonus Features
The Battle Spins Feature opens the moment the fifth scatter lands, and every scatter that triggered it pays out immediately. Each one awards either a bonus prize or a non-bonus prize, as a multiple of the total bet:
- 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, 3.5x, 4x
- 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 12x, 15x, 20x
- 25x, 30x, 75x, 100x
That opening payout is already worth having. A five-scatter trigger with mid-range prizes can return several times the stake before a single punch is thrown, and the top scatter prize of 100x beats everything the regular paytable can manage.
Then the fighting starts. During the feature the top reel adds symbols to reels two, three, four and five, and the Gold Wizard takes on four opponents in turn: the Green, Blue, Purple and Red Wizards. Each duel plays out across Battle Rounds.
Every combatant carries a pool of life points. Gold Wizard symbols landing on the top reel chip away at the current opponent’s life, while Enemy symbols do the same to the Gold Wizard. The two symbol types trade blows round by round, and whichever side’s points hit zero first decides how the duel ends.
Beat an opponent and the brawl moves straight to the next one, with the challenge escalating through the colour order to the Red Wizard at the end of the queue. Defeating him awards a Victory Prize, and that prize is guaranteed to be one of the four jackpot bonuses. The ladder they sit on:
- Grand bonus: 2,000x the total bet
- Major bonus: 250x the total bet
- Minor bonus: 50x the total bet
- Mini bonus: 10x the total bet
The jackpot symbols can also be awarded directly through the scatter prizes, so the Grand doesn’t strictly require winning all four battles. A lucky scatter at the trigger can hand over the 2,000x top prize before the first opponent even takes the field.
The two-way life system is where the tension sits. The feature can’t be lost outright, but a run of Enemy symbols ends the battles early and leaves the Victory Prize unclaimed. It’s the 2,000x Grand doing most of the work towards the game’s ceiling, with a full sweep of scatter prizes and battle payouts on top of it making up the top-end results.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.5/10
Playing this is mostly a wait in a very pretty chamber, watching small ways wins tick past the cauldrons while you count purple chests. The reason to be here at all is the one round those chests buy: scatters pay up front, then the Gold Wizard scraps his way through four rivals for a guaranteed jackpot. Nothing else in the game comes close to mattering as much.
That round earns its place. The life-point duels can go either way, a Victory Prize that’s always a jackpot is a proper finish, and the 2,000x Grand stacking on top of the scatter payouts gives the feature real reach. The problem sits outside it: 94.0% is a thin return even for a high volatility game, and the base paytable is small change all the way down.
So it’s one for players who want a feature with momentum and a fight worth watching, and who’ll accept the leaner maths for it. Anyone after a base game that pays its own way, or a return closer to the studio’s usual figures, is better served elsewhere in the 10K Ways line. For the brawlers, the wizards deliver.
