Time Spinners Slot Review 2022
Experience the ephemeral nature of time in Hacksaw Gaming’s latest release, Time Spinners!
The imagination behind Hacksaw Gaming slots are baffling. Some stick to certain tried and true themes, but providers like Hacksaw toy with the idea of many different concepts, and in this instance, they’re toying with the idea of time itself.
We’re on borrowed time in this exciting looking slot from Hacksaw Gaming, but will it be as compelling as some of their brilliant other slots? Time will tell.
Time Spinners Base Game and Features
Time Spinners is a 5 reel slot with 10 fixed paylines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol type land from left to right, starting from the left-most reel.
The minimum bet available here is £/€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £/€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Time Spinners has a theoretical RTP of 96.19% and a maximum win capacity of 10,000x.
In terms of symbols, the highest paying regular symbol in Time Spinners is the Gold Solar System Ball, followed by the Hourglass, Map and Book. Low-paying symbols fall to Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. There is also a Wild and Pocket Watch symbol present which substitutes for all High and Low-paying symbols.
During any random base game spin, Wild symbols in the form of a Pocket Watch can land in any position on the reel set.
Once this happens, the Pocket Watch Wild will reveal a Multiplier between x2 and x12. The multiplier will be applied to all winning combinations that it is a part of.
If more than one Wild Multiplier symbol is part of the same winning combination, their current Multiplier values will be added together before being applied to the win.
A maximum of 10 Wild Multipliers can land during any one spin in the base game or up to a maximum of 15 in the Bonus round.
Time Spinners: Borrowed Time Bonus
Landing 3 Ghost symbols in any position on the reels triggers the Borrowed Time Free Spins round. This round is split into 2 Phases, the Collect and Payout Phase.
During the Collect Phase, the reel set transforms into a Grid with only Pocket Watch, Sync, Echo and non-winning broken watch symbols in play.
The Collect phase starts with 3 Respins which reset if one of the above Special symbols land in view. When the Special symbols land on the Grid, they automatically lock into their position and remain there for the duration of the Borrowed Time Bonus round.
The special symbols all have an important part to play in determining your setup for the Payout Phase.
- Pocket Watch – Awards a Wild Multiplier between x2 and x12.
- Sync your Watches Symbol – Syncs all current Wild Multiplier values to the highest multiplier on the grid.
- Echo Symbol – Increases all adjacent Wild Multipliers by either x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10.
- Epic Echo Symbol – Increases all all Wild Multipliers by either x2, x3, x4 or x5.
During the Payout Phase, the grid returns to the normal reel set with regular paytable symbols and all awarded Wild Multiplier symbols from the Collect Phase are all present and locked into their current positions.
For every Respin Reset that occurred during the Collect Phase an additional +1 Free Spin is awarded, with a minimum of 3 Payout Spins.
Time Spinners Bonus Buy
For those outside the UK you may benefit from a Bonus Buy option.
Hacksaw Gaming has granted players access to the Borrowed Time Bonus round along with a FeatureSpins option.
- FeatureSpins – Activating the FeatureSpins option Doubles your current bet for each spin. With the FeatureSpins option active, each spin is 3x more likely to trigger the Borrowed Time Bonus, increasing the RTP to 96.24%.
- Borrowed Time Bonus – Costs a total of 100x your current bet, with an RTP of 96.2%.
Time Spinners: Our Verdict
Although the title doesn’t give much away, Hacksaw Gaming are showing us their darker side once again in Time Spinners and it doesn’t disappoint. Hacksaw Gaming have done a brilliant job so far at introducing darker slots into their colourful and cute slots collection, with Hand of Anubis, Gladiator Legends and Itero Echospins leading by example.
Time Spinners isn’t quite as dark as Hand of Anubis for example but it does have the odd element of darkness running through it, courtesy of the Ghostly figure and demonic growl which you don’t expect to hear during a big win. If like us you prefer Hacksaw Gaming’s darker collection of slots, then you will no doubt enjoy what they have done here.
Although Time Spinners has a darker theme, it still has plenty of Hacksaw Gaming qualities about it. Sound effects are exactly the same to all the others along with the Featurespins feature which we’ve seen before in Dork Unit and Fruit Duel, plus a cheeky Bonus Buy option (if you have access to it).
Time Spinners is probably the first slot from Hacksaw Gaming to actually tease on the reels for the 3rd Scatter needed, which was probably the most surprising of all given that you’re usually left staring at the reels in confusion as to how you missed the Free Spins round come in.
Like Warrior Ways, the Borrowed Time Bonus round is played out in 2 Phases which if you aren’t paying much attention or don’t read the fine print beforehand, can leave you a little confused as to what’s going on. Getting the right setup for the Payout Phase is crucial in order to hit some pretty decent wins.
All in all, Time Spinners is another impressive and well-thought out game from the brilliant minds at Hacksaw Gaming
