The results are in and the people have spoken.
In December, we asked you to have your say in the best that 2020 had to offer via a poll that would decide which of these incredible games would secure a place in the top 10 of the year, as well as feature in a huge LIVE slots battle that will take place on our Youtube channel later this month!
The releases in 2020 were fierce. Some New Slots pushed the boundaries with innovation, while others dazzled with pure potential. We had trusty games using tried and true formulas that have stayed immensely popular, as well as some unforgettable sequels to unforgettable games. All of this resulted in some tough choices, but the results are in, and we have a winner.
Here are the results on what YOU decided that the best online slot game of 2020 was….
Pragmatic Play didn’t miss a trick in 2020, and it was inevitable that one of the most popular games around would get a Megaways Makeover. This decision proved to be one of the best that Pragmatic Play made, having skyrocketed the popularity of a game that was already infamous.
Popularity wasn’t the only thing that skyrocked upon the release of The Dog House Megaways. With it, came a new level of potential that was previously impossible in the original game. The maximum win turned from 6750x to a whopping 12,305x, having almost doubled its potential, and the restrictions previously in place with a 5×3 set up and 20 pay lines disappeared in favour of the captivating and exciting Megaways Slots mechanic which had up to 117,649 ways to win.
It was a landslide victory for The Dog House Megaways. The Dog House Megaways got a vote of 53.72% which means that over half of the 564 participants chose it as one of their favourite games.
After being told the news that The Dog House Megaways had been voted as a clear winner, we spoke to Ivan Faulisi, Head of Affiliates at Pragmatic who had the following to say;
We’re truly honored to see that our very own The Dog House Megaways has been selected first by Fruity Slots’ amazing audience. The game was a huge success for us, and we expect it to stick in the tops for long whiles. It’s great to see that Big Bass Bonanza also received plenty of exposure, closely following the Top 3 games. Seeing so much appreciation from the iGaming community is truly rewarding, and we can’t wait to see how our future launches will perform. Thank you, Fruity Slots, for making this possible and looking forward to more achievements together!
A deserving win for this great game, and it’ll certainly be a game that nobody will forget even as we look forward to a new year and new games in 2021.
The Dog House Megaways may have taken the podium, but there are still 9 other exciting instalments that you decided were worthy adversaries in 2020, and while they may not have taken the top spot, they’ll still get to prove why they’re top 10 winners in the upcoming battle.
Taking top spot wasnt enough for Pragmatic Play, they managed to bag another slot in the top 10 list! Big Bass Bonanza was online released on the 14th December but proved an instant success with our audience. Taking on a very similar feel and concept as the hugely iconic Fishin Frenzy slot, this release added some extra spice with an increasing multiplier feature that gives users extra spins whilst juicing up the win potential!
They were the only provider to have 2 games in the top list, although Yggdrasil should get a mention as Cherry Pop was developed in collaboration with Avatar UX studio, so in some ways they also feature twice in the list as they took tenth place with the very fun and popular Multifly slot.
It’s not surprising in the least to see these games in the top 10. All of them have such immense potential and playability, and it was definitely a close shave between some of these games. Euphoria and Spartacus Megaways had only 1 vote between them, as did Hammer of Vulcan and Money train 2.
Thanks to everyone for voting, and stay tuned to see your game stack up against all of the others in a Slot battle that is measuring up to be a big one.
