Jamie: The Fire and Roses Joker™ series has grown across several releases. What do you think the original got right, and what have you carried forward from it?
Levon: The original gave the series a memorable host in Jolene and a fantasy circus world built around fire, roses and spectacular showmanship. It also gave players clear things to follow: J-O-K-E-R letters leading to Free Spins, jackpot values growing as symbols landed, and a Jackpot Wheel reveal.
We’ve carried forward expanding Jolene and those recognisable parts of the experience. Fire and Roses Joker Diamonds™ gives them an incredible upgrade with a new stage, Diamond progression, Expanding Wilds and three wheels adding fresh moments to the show.
Jamie: When developing another game in an established series, how do you decide which elements to keep familiar and where you can surprise people?
Levon: We start with the elements that make it feel like Fire and Roses Joker™: Jolene, the circus atmosphere, roses, J-O-K-E-R letters and the sense of building towards a feature.
Then we look for ways to make the next game feel bigger and more exciting, with upgraded features and fresh surprises that build on what the series already does well. In Fire and Roses Joker Diamonds™, Rose Coins still build towards the jackpots, while the Blue, Ruby and Gold Diamonds create another progression towards Diamond Free Spins. The three wheels give each feature path its own moment, so players can recognise the world and still discover something new.

Jamie: What was the starting idea for Fire and Roses Joker Diamonds™, and what does it bring to the series?
Levon: We wanted Jolene to raise the curtain on a bigger, more dazzling act: a Diamond extravaganza in her fantasy circus. Everything that made the original work is still on stage, but the show is built on a larger scale.
The original Jackpot Wheel expands into three distinct wheel features, giving Jolene more surprises to reveal and the series a greater sense of spectacle.
Jamie: Rose Coins build the Rising Rewards™ Jackpots, while the Gold, Ruby and Blue Diamonds feed a separate progression towards Diamond Free Spins. How did you want those two systems to sit alongside each other?
Levon: They give players two clear things to follow. Rose Coins add to the Rising Rewards™ Jackpots and build towards the Rose Jackpot Wheel. The Diamonds show the progressive spins and increasing multiplier values associated with each tier, building towards Diamond Free Spins.
Together, they keep two questions alive throughout the game: how high will the jackpots climb, and what could the next Diamond bring to Free Spins?
Jamie: The game brings together Expanding Wilds, J-O-K-E-R Scatters, Bonus Spins and three separate wheels. How do you keep that many features easy to follow?
Levon: The beauty of it is that each feature has its own moment in the spotlight. Jolene’s Expanding Wilds with multipliers create instant drama on the reels, the J-O-K-E-R letters build anticipation, and each wheel has a clear attraction: jackpots, a mix of rewards, or Diamond Free Spins.
There’s plenty happening, but players can enjoy each reveal as it arrives. It gives the game the pace of a circus show, with another act waiting just behind the curtain.

Jamie: Jolene is at the centre of the game, and the setting is a fantasy circus. How much does a character like that shape the design decisions?
Levon: Jolene shapes the whole presentation. She’s a dazzling host, and the fantasy circus gives her a stage worthy of that presence. The fire, roses, Diamonds and wheel reveals all contribute to the feeling that she’s introducing the next act.
And she gives the game an immediate identity – one striking character you recognise straight away, which matters as much for the series as it does for any single game.
Jamie: How do you see streaming and gameplay video influencing how new slots get discovered?
Levon: A slot launch no longer lives only on a game page or in a campaign. A streamer can bring thousands of people into the experience as it happens, and one extraordinary moment can become the clip that goes viral the next day.
That’s changing discovery across the industry: audiences encounter new games through the creators they follow and the reactions they want to be part of. For a studio, the most exciting question is whether the game delivers a moment people can’t wait to show someone else.
Jamie: If the FruitySlots team streams Fire and Roses Joker Diamonds™, which moment would you most want them to capture for viewers, and what feedback would you want from our streamers?
Levon: I’d love to see a J-O-K-E-R sequence lead into the Diamond Wheel and Diamond Free Spins, especially if you hit the biggest Diamond and then land three stacked Jolene symbols across the middle three reels that merge into one huge multiplier. That’s when Jolene’s Diamond extravaganza really comes alive.
I’d want honest streamer feedback on whether the Rose Coin and Diamond progressions are easy to distinguish, whether the three wheels feel meaningfully different, and which moments create the biggest reactions from viewers.
More than anything, I’d want to know whether the show lands – whether Jolene gets the same reaction on stream that she gets in the studio.
