NoLimit City have returned with their newest volatile instalment, Buffalo Hunter Slot. This time we’re heading out West again to North America to venture the great plains in search of the mighty Buffalo.
Many Developers have used the mighty Buffalo as the figurehead for their games, but you can’t help but love them, no matter how many times it’s used.
NoLimit City have perhaps had the most impressive year out of any of the Casino Software Providers out there. We’ve had some cracking instalments such as Book of Shadows, Golden Genie and the Walking Wilds, Milky Ways, Harlequin Carnival and Bonus Bunnies.
Because of the praiseworthy titles released thus far, it’s hard not to get excited when NoLimit release New Slots.
Buffalo Hunter is of course, set in the plains of North America, but NoLimit didn’t seem to want to throw too much emphasis into the visuals of the game.
The background is simply long blades of grass with a backdrop of mountains and clouds at dusk. The music for the game however is interesting and sets the scene well, with music that sounds tribal and wild.
The reel design is simple, yet nice at the same time, with a sort of totem pole border.
NoLimit City have always been more than accommodating to players with the vast amount of betting options available to choose from. The bottom bet is 0.20, with the highest at 100.
Between these two, there are plenty of options to choose from, enough to cover the needs of every type of player.
Top symbols in the game are the Wild, and the Buffalo, with 5 of them in a line paying 50x your stake. Eagle, Jaguar, Coyote and Antelope are the next high paying symbols. Low symbols are represented by A, K, Q, J & 10.
Buffalo Hunter is a 5-reel video slot that has 40 set pay lines. These Pay lines are active at all times, regardless of the stake, and 3 or more matching symbols from left to right will form a win.
The game is eventful enough in the base game if you get some matching symbols, but most of the excitement is saved for the bonus feature, of which there are a few to choose from.
Buffalo Hunter does include Mystery Symbols, which appear randomly and turn into the same symbol. This adds a little bit of excitement to the base game and will be handy in keeping that balance steady as you soldier on for the bonus features.
Buffalo Horde is achieved when 3 or 4 Scatter symbols land during the base game. 3 will award 8 Free Spins, and 4 will award 10.
It’s said that the Buffalo holds the energy of the great plains. During the bonus, we’ll want to collect that energy by landing Buffalo symbols, which will contribute towards turning other high paying symbols into Buffalo.
Only the original Buffalos hold the energy, so once they land those same ones will not contribute towards the progress if they land again. +2 Spins will be awarded for each animal turned into Buffalo.
Buffalo Horde is one of two available bonuses to choose when 3 or 4 Symbols land, with Buffalo Horde being the less volatile of the 2. The other available to choose is Prairie Multipliers.
Prairie Multipliers is awarded the same way as Buffalo Horde and awards the same amount of spins. Collect energy from 5 Buffalo Symbols to increase the multiplier by 1x on one of the animal symbols and collect 2 extra spins.
The multiplier on the Buffalo increases +1x for each animal as well up to a maximum of 5x. This one might sound a little confusing but as a representative example…
5 Energy = Antelope turns into a 2x Antelope. 5 More energy will then turn the next symbol coyote into a 3x Coyote, and the Antelope will also become a 3x.
This continues up until the Buffalo is collected where all multipliers will become 5x.
Prairie Multipliers is the more volatile of the two, meaningless wins but with a higher chance of winning big.
Stampede Super Bonus is awarded when 5 scatters are collected. This bonus is a combination of both Buffalo Horde and Prairie Multipliers.
In this mode, you’ll collect energy to turn lower-paying premium symbols into Buffalo, as you would in Buffalo Horde, with the added extra that they will also accumulate multipliers like in Stampede Super Spins.
12 Spins are awarded during this bonus. This offers the highest potential of all and can be where the game really gets interesting.
The option to buy the bonus is not available for those playing in the UK. This is available for 100x your stake if you want to be guaranteed at least 3 scatters for the Buffalo Horde or Prairie Multiplier Casino Bonus.
You can also buy the Stampede Super Bonus, but this will cost you a whopping 600x your stake.
Both Bonus games are very viable options, and both are worth choosing, however, the real potential lies within the Stampede Super Bonus.
This new slot is available to play now on desktop or Mobile Casinos.
Sadly, bonus buys are not available in the UK, so it may not be something you see often, especially with its insane potential.
The game has a potential max win of over 12,000x, with would be huge if it came in, and a High RTP of 96.18%, which means that you might see a decent proportion of your bets back as winnings.
There isn’t a lot bad to be said about this game, apart from free spins can take a while to trigger.
