Equipped with a padlock, grappling hook, pliers, flashlight, and screwdriver, each Rascal has been given their very own disguises in the form of a trenchcoat, moustache, and fedora in order to keep their identities hidden.

Rascal Riches Base Game and Features

Rascal Riches is a 5-reel slot with 243 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.23% and a max win cap of 9,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Character with the Red background, followed by the Characters with Purple, Green, and Blue backgrounds. Low-paying symbols fall to the Grappling Hook, Pliers, Flashlight, and Screwdriver.

Rascal Wild

During any random spin in the base game, a fully stacked Rascal Wild can appear at random on one of the reels, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters.

Once it appears in view, it may also reveal 1 of 3 additional Bonus Features, as follows.

• Multipliers – Reveals Multipliers of x2, x3, or x5 that are applied to all wins for that particular spin. Multiplier values are added together and applied to all wins that occur during this time.
• Mystery Symbols – Adds 2 or 3 Mystery symbols to the reel set in random positions. Mystery symbols will reveal the same High or Low-paying symbol, excluding Scatters and Rascal Wilds.
• Row Splitter – Splits all High and Low-paying symbols on the same row into 2, excluding the Rascal Wild and Scatters.

Any of the 3 Rascals can deliver any of the above Bonus Features at any point when the Rascal Wild symbol is in play.

Rascal Riches Free Spins

Landing 3 Golden Trashcan Scatters on reels 1, 3, and 5 during the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 5 Free Spins.

During Free Spins, the Rascal Wild symbol is present on the reels for every Free Spin and may move to a new reel position between spins. In addition to this, the Rascal Wild may also deliver 1 of 3 Bonus Features at random as mentioned previously.

Before the final Free Spin, the Golden Trashcan Multiplier feature will award a Multiplier of x20, x30, x50, or x100 at random. This will then be applied to all wins that may form on the final spin.

If additional Multipliers are awarded via the Rascal Wild, they will be automatically added to the total Multiplier and applied to all wins. Retriggers are not possible during the Free Spins round.

Rascal Riches: Our Verdict

Play’n GO has created their fair share of animal-themed slots, some of which are better than others, but where does Rascal Riches fit in? Like the majority of Play’n GO’s slots, Rascal Riches is a well-designed game with quality graphics and a cartoonish design that tells a story.

Rascal Riches ticks all the right boxes in design, but what did we think of gameplay? Play’n GO are keeping us on our toes in the base game, with an exciting Rascal Wild feature that has a few surprising tricks up its sleeve.

During testing, we found that the Rascal Wild triggered frequently, giving us a glimpse of the Bonus Features and what they can achieve if they fancy it. Admittedly, out of all 3 Bonus features, the least thrilling was Mystery Symbols, but it’s certainly better than a kick in the teeth.

The Free Spins round is more of the same, but with a few adjustments that give Rascal Riches more of an edge. Here you will see the Rascal Wild in action on every spin, saving the best spin till last.

We’ll admit, we were a little hesitant about Rascal Riches being able to reach the maximum win cap of 9,000x, but the last Free Spin where you’re awarded a Multiplier of up to x100 makes it feel much more achievable.

Overall, Rascal Riches feels like an interesting instalment with a lot of appeal, but perhaps not long-lasting longevity.
