Blood Diamond

Blood Diamond Slot Review

Nolimit City has been on a rampage with sequels lately, rolling out Dead Dead or Deader, Home of the Brave, and Mental 2 with each of them pushing the boundaries of chaos, carnage, and potential. Now, they’re back with another high-stakes affair, where greed is the deadliest gamble of all.

Nothing in life comes for free – especially not diamonds. Deep in the desert, where the sun bakes the earth and the air is thick with dust, fortunes are made and lost in an instant. But when the temptation of the biggest diamond in the mine becomes too much, some men will risk it all.

With shades of Blood Diamond and a signature Nolimit City twist, this slot isn’t just about big wins – it’s about survival. So, is this a hidden gem worth digging for, or will you be left buried beneath the rubble? Let’s find out.

Base Game & Features

Blood Diamond is a highly volatile 5-reel, 4-row Video Slot with 1,024 ways to win and varying bet sizes between £0.20 and £100 per spin. Working alongside the high volatility rating is an overall RTP of 96.14% and a sizable max win cap of 14,780x your bet.

Wins are calculated when 3, 4, or 5 identical High or Low-paying symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. Upon evaluation, winning combinations award a fixed payout between 0.15x and 2x your bet. Lastly, xNudge Wilds substitute for all paytable symbols.

Stacked Symbols

All High-paying (Character) symbols can land in various sizes on the reels, with stacked symbols up to 4 positions high. A stacked symbol will be counted as the number of positions it covers on a reel.

Chained Reels

Chained Reels are randomly activated during any spin in the base game. Once active, 2 or more reels will link together, causing matching symbols to land adjacent to each other on all linked reels.

xNudge Wild

Stacked xNudge Wilds will always nudge until fully visible on the reels, increasing its active Multiplier by +x1 per nudge. When a partial xNudge Wild hits, it will begin to nudge up or down until it is fully in view on the reel. Multiple xNudge Wilds have their Multipliers added together and applied to the Total xNudge Wild Multiplier.

xNudge Desire

The xNudge Desire feature randomly activates during any base game spin. Once active, between 1 and 5 xNudge Wilds are added to the reels. If an xNudge Wild is added to a Chained Reel, all active chained reels will reveal an xNudge Wild symbol.

Nolimit Booster & Bonus Buy

• xBet: Each spin is guaranteed to land a Scatter symbol on reel 1 or 2 (3x your bet)
• Chained Reels Booster: Guarantees the Chained Reels feature (7x your bet)
• xNudge Booster: Guarantees 1 xNudge Wild on the reels (35x your bet)
• xNudge Desire Booster: Instantly triggers the xNudge Desure feature (500x your bet)
• Oppression Spins: 85x your bet
• Domination Spins: 200x your bet
• Enslavement Spins: 500x your bet
• Mystery Spins: 33% (Oppression Spins) 33% (Domination Spins) 33% (Enslavement Spins) 261x your bet

Oppression Spins

Landing 3 Bonus Scatters anywhere in the base game triggers Oppression Spins, awarding 5 Free Spins respectively. Once active, the third Bonus, which acts as a Big Bonus symbol, will award one of the following Feature Upgrades during the Free Spins trigger:

• Additional Spins
• Additional Win Multiplier
• Additional Chained Reels
• Guaranteed xNudge Desire on each spin
• Guaranteed xNudge Wild on each spin
• Max Win of 14,780x your bet

During this round, at least 2 reels will always chain together. Any Multipliers gathered from an xNudge Wild or Big Bonus symbol will persist throughout the feature.

Up to 3 Big Bonus symbols can land in a single spin, with each awarding one of the above-mentioned Feature Upgrades. Each additional xNudge Wild to appear from a Big Bonus symbol will guarantee to land on every spin.

Domination Spins

Landing 4 Bonus Scatters in the base game triggers Domination Spins, awarding 5 Free Spins respectively.

In addition to the features found in Oppression Spins, each of the 2 Big Bonus symbols will award an Upgrade Feature during the triggering bonus spin.

Enslavement Spins

Landing 5 Bonus Scatters in the base game triggers Enslavement Spins, awarding 5 Free Spins respectively.

Along with features found in Oppression Spins, each of the 3 Big Bonus symbols will award an Upgrade Feature during the initial triggering of Free Spins.

Our Verdict

It wouldn’t be a Nolimit City slot if it didn’t come with a touch of controversy, and Blood Diamond is no exception. Tackling themes of greed and exploitation, it shares undeniable similarities with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Blood Diamond.

As for the gameplay, it packs many of the signature features that fans love, including xMechanics like xNudge Wilds. The addition of Chained Reels – which essentially act as linked reels – adds a fresh twist, but the real highlight is xNudge Desire, which works in tandem with Chained Reels.

However, when it comes to raw volatility, Blood Diamond feels a little restrained. With a 14,780x max win, it’s on the lower end compared to Nolimit’s usual insanity. Some players might appreciate this slightly more moderate approach, but for those who seek out Nolimit City specifically for their extreme, high-risk slots, it may feel like a step-down.

Overall, Blood Diamond is a solid but unspectacular entry in Nolimit City’s catalogue. It delivers a decent experience, but compared to the recent heavy hitters like Mental 2 and Duck Hunters, it lacks the same level of excitement and innovation.
