Cocks & Robbers Slot Review
Dusk settles over a farm town, and the barn’s loft windows have been turned into a post office wall: a scowling fox mugshot in one, a wolf in a flat cap glaring out of the other, barbed wire strung across both, with a red carpet rolled out between brass rope posts onto wet cobblestones. Cocks & Robbers hides its best-paying symbols in plain sight, because the two wanted faces on that wall are also the richest symbols in the game. Most slots pay you to land wilds; this one pays you twice, since every fox and every wolf sweeps the board of its favourite animals on top of whatever the reels are already doing. The heist, in other words, is run by the robbers themselves.
The setup comes from Red Tiger Gaming: a 5×4 grid with 729 ways to win. A darker, sillier take on farm life than Farmtastic, and closer to the studio’s caper side, seen in Revolvero and Piggy Riches 2 Megaways. No RTP figure has been published, so the game answers for itself on the reels.
Base Game & Features
The barn crew is a mixed gang. Two pigs lead the payouts, one dressed as a bandit and one as the farmer, with a lamb, a duck and a turkey filling out the livestock, and A, K, Q, J and 10 bringing up the rear. Six-of-a-kind wins are worth chasing, because that’s where the values step up hardest.
Matching symbols pay anywhere on adjacent reels, running left to right, so symbol position within a reel doesn’t matter. The pay ladder, as printed cash values (no bet figure was visible, so these can’t be expressed as bet multiples) except for the two wilds, which are shown as multiples:
- Wild Wolf – 10x, 15x, 20x (top of the table)
- Wild Fox – 3x, 5x, 10x
- Pig (Bandit) – 1.00, 2.00, 3.00, 5.00 for three to six
- Pig (Farmer) – 0.70, 1.00, 1.50, 2.00
- Lamb – 0.50, 0.70, 1.00, 1.50
- Duck – 0.30, 0.50, 0.80, 1.00
- Turkey – 0.20, 0.40, 0.60, 0.80
- A, K – 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.50
- Q, J, 10 – 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40
The two wilds sit at the top of that ladder, which tells you where this game keeps its money. They don’t just substitute for paying symbols. Each one is a collector, and the whole design bends around them.
Wild Fox
The fox substitutes for all paying symbols and collects every Duck and Turkey on screen. Get to five or more of the pair in a single spin and he pays a cash value on top of any ways wins. The royals and the pigs don’t interest him at all, so his award only builds on a waterfowl-heavy board.
Because both of his targets sit in the lower half of the pay ladder, his collection award is the floor under a board full of ducks and turkeys rather than the headline of it. The ways win from those same symbols still pays, and the fox’s cash value arrives alongside it. One spin, two chances.
Wild Wolf
The wolf is the louder of the two. His reel fills edge to edge, every paying symbol in reach, and his targets are the Pig and Lamb symbols, again paying a cash value at five or more collected. Any spin he appears in that produces a win earns a respin.
Between respins he stalks the reels, shifting one position to the left. The exception is reel two, from which he jumps to reel five and starts the circuit again. That walking loop is the best idea in the game.
Full House
Full House can activate on any spin. It adds a random number of one symbol type to the reels, chosen from Pig, Lamb, Duck or Turkey. The additions arrive after the drop, so a thin board can fill with a single kind of animal in one motion. Stack the screen with ducks while the fox is standing on it and his collection meter does the rest.
It works both ways round. A pig flood feeds the wolf’s meter, and a board suddenly crowded with lambs gives the 729 ways plenty of adjacent-reel material to work with. Either collector on screen at the same time turns a random dump of animals into two awards at once. That’s the whole engine of the base game in a single spin.
Cocks & Robbers Bonus Features & Free Spins
Scatters unlock the barn. Three of them award 10 Barn Spins, and one Wild Fox is guaranteed to land on every spin of the round. With a collector locked into each spin, the Duck and Turkey awards stack up quickly.
Four scatters award 10 Super Spins instead. Here both a Wild Fox and a Wild Wolf are guaranteed on every spin, which puts the expanding, walking collector on screen for the full round. That’s the round worth waiting for.
The two collectors split the pay ladder cleanly between them, so a Super Spin always has both halves in play. The fox sweeps the low end while the wolf works the pigs and lambs, and each respin the wolf earns drags him one reel further through the round. Every extra spin is another guaranteed pass of both.
Retriggers work in steps. One extra scatter during Barn Spins adds a single spin, two scatters add two, and a full triple brings three more spins and converts everything left on the counter to Super Spins. A round that starts in the barn can end in the wolf’s company.
Bonus Buy
Two buy options skip the scatter hunt entirely, and each buys exactly one spin:
- Wild Fox Mania – one spin with a Wild Fox guaranteed to land
- Wild Wolf Mania – one spin with a Wild Wolf guaranteed to land
One spin, one guaranteed collector. Neither option touches the scatter count, so a bought spin can’t stumble into Barn Spins on its own; it’s a short punt rather than a full bonus round, and the wolf version is the one that brings the expanding reel with it.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Play this for an evening and the loop gets under your skin: fill the board, let the fox or the wolf sweep it, and hold your breath each time the wolf shuffles a reel left and the wins keep respinning. He’s the reason to walk into this particular barn. No other farmyard game gives its best-paying symbol the run of the reels like this, and the bonus rounds lean on him properly rather than as a garnish.
The problem is everything outside that loop. The buys sell you a single spin each instead of a round, which feels stingy, and the Super Spins upgrade sits behind three retriggers most sessions will never reach. It’s a thin menu around one very good idea.
If you like a base game where something is always ticking over, this is your sort of slot. Anyone chasing big bonus buys or a jackpot ladder will find the shelves here fairly bare. For the rest, the carpet’s out and the wolf is already inside.
