Fortune Balloons Slot Review
Party balloons drift over a gold cabinet buried in drifts of dollar-stamped coins, under a soft violet sky. Fortune Balloons, from Amigo Gaming, spends all that gloss on a base game that doesn’t deserve it, and that’s the point: the fruit paytable downstairs is a lobby, and everything the slot actually has to say happens in the Pin Win grid above it.
It plays as a 5×4 grid with 25 fixed paylines, very high volatility, and a 10,500x ceiling reached through balloon-triggered collect rounds and a 1000x jackpot. Few games make the staircase this steep or the top floor this busy.
Base Game & Features
The main game runs on a 5×4 grid with 25 fixed paylines. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, and only the highest combination on each line counts. There’s no ways-to-win spread here; the lines are fixed and every spin plays all of them.
The wild appears on reels two to five in the main game only. It substitutes for every symbol except the Token and Random Bonus, which is standard enough, but its absence from reel one keeps the wild’s role to line completion rather than line creation.
The paytable is classic fruit-machine stock, topped by a balloons symbol and a 777:
- Balloons: 5x, 20x, 100x for three, four, five
- 777: 3x, 10x, 30x
- Watermelon: 2x, 4x, 20x
- Bell: 1x, 3x, 10x
- Grapes: 0.4x, 2x, 4x
- Lemon, Plum, Orange, Cherries: 0.2x, 0.4x, 1x
It’s a steep drop from the top. The balloons symbol pays 100x for a full line, while four of the five fruit symbols at the bottom pay a single multiple of the stake for a full house. Most of the time, this paytable is scenery; the money in Fortune Balloons lives in the bonus grid, and the base game exists to get you there.
Token and Random Bonus Symbols
Two symbols cover other symbols as they land in the main game: the Token and the Random Bonus. When a Token flies off the reel, the symbol it uncovers can complete winning combinations if any are waiting. The reveal works the other way round from what you might expect: the covered symbol isn’t lost, it’s delayed.
The Random Bonus behaves identically on departure, but it carries a guarantee: it triggers one of the Pin Win bonuses when it leaves. That makes it the most valuable single symbol in the main game, and the only one that always leads somewhere.
Tokens come in three colours, one for each balloon floating above the reels. Collecting more of them doesn’t improve the odds of anything; they’re delivery, not currency. The colour only matters for which bonus you get.
Fortune Balloons Pin Win Bonuses
The Three Balloons
Each Token may randomly activate its matching balloon: green for Collect, red for Boost, blue for Payer. One balloon alone triggers a Pin Win bonus containing just that special symbol type, a Single Pin Win.
Two or three balloons activating at the same time trigger a Mixed Pin Win, with multiple special symbol types in play together. The number of Tokens collected has no impact on the trigger odds. Activation is random per Token, so a long drought of green Tokens doesn’t make the green balloon any more due.
What the collected count buys you is nothing, and knowing that up front saves some confused watching of the tally.
The Pin Win Bonus
Once triggered, the main game reels are replaced by a 5×4 grid of positions holding Pin Win symbols, special symbols and empty cells. Pin Win and Collect symbols that land stay locked in place until the bonus ends, which is the hold-and-collect spine of the round.
You start with three attempts, and every spin of the grid uses one. Landing one or more Pin Win symbols or special symbols resets the count to its starting value. A single sticky symbol is enough to refill the tank, so rounds live or die on streaks rather than big individual hits.
The round runs until the attempts run out or every position is filled with Pin Win and Collect symbols. At the end, the prizes shown on all symbols present on the grid are added together to form the payout.
Every Pin Win symbol shows a prize equal to the total bet multiplied by one of the following:
- X0.4, X1, X2, X3, X4, X5
- X6, X7, X8, X9, X12, X14
- X16, X18, X20, X50, X100
Payer, Boost and Collect
The three specials activate in a fixed order when they appear together: Payer, then Boost, then Collect. The order isn’t cosmetic. Because the Payer fires first, the prizes it adds are already on the grid when the Boost multiplies one of them, and both are in place before the Collect sweeps.
The Payer adds its reward to every Pin Win symbol on the grid, at a multiplier of X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X7 or X10. A single Payer late in a crowded round raises twenty symbols at once, which is where the arithmetic turns serious.
The Boost multiplies one Pin Win symbol’s reward by X2, X3, X4, X5, X7 or X10. It’s the narrowest of the three specials, touching a single symbol rather than the whole board.
The Collect gathers the rewards from all Pin Win symbols already on the grid, and those symbols keep their printed prizes afterwards. That retention is what stretches the ceiling: the accumulated value leaves as winnings, and the symbols stay put to be gathered again by the next Collect.
Ultra Jackpot
Collect 20 Pin Win or Collect symbols during a single bonus and you’re awarded the Ultra Jackpot, worth 1000x the total bet. A counter above the reels tracks the remaining symbols, so the chase is always visible.
The bonus is played at the same bet as the triggering spin and can only be won in the main game.
Buy Bonus
The Buy Bonus button activates a Pin Win bonus at any time. The purchase works by running a main game spin that produces a Random Bonus symbol, which then triggers the bonus exactly as a chance trigger would. The cost depends directly on the total bet, and the round itself plays identically either way.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Playing Fortune Balloons is mostly waiting in a very pretty room. You come for the balloons, and the balloons are worth coming for: the Pin Win bonus locks symbols into place, resets its attempts on every landing, and builds tension the fruit reels never touch.
The best thing in it is the Mixed Pin Win. Getting a Payer and a Collect into the same round turns a steady fill into a proper chase, and the 20-symbol jackpot counter gives even a losing attempt something to watch.
The worst thing is that you’re betting blind. There’s no published RTP, the volatility is very high, and the base game pays so little that a bad session can feel like paying rent on the party. This is one for players who enjoy the climb itself, the ones happy to spin through thin pickings for a shot at a full grid. Anyone who wants regular wins along the way won’t find them here.
