Golden Triad

Golden Triad Slot Review

An Egyptian temple rises out of desert haze, winged sun disk spread above a gold GRAND plaque, hieroglyphs running down the pillars either side of the reels. Golden Triad spends almost nothing on its base game and everything on the room behind that plaque, and the split is more extreme than most coin collectors dare – the symbol ladder tops out at 37.5x, which means the reels outside the temple are effectively a lobby.

Bitpunch built this one on a 5×3 grid with all-ways pays and high volatility, and the RTP is stated at 94%. Bets span 0.10 to 50 per spin. It sits alongside Coins of Cleo and Clash of Claws in the studio’s catalogue, with Cyber Doom for players who prefer their reels dystopian.

Base Game & Features

The game world does competent work around the reels. A pharaoh figure stands in profile on the left pillar, a cat-headed goddess on the right, and the ruins behind the roofline sit half-lost in dust. It’s warm, softly lit and unhurried – decoration rather than spectacle, but it never gets in the way of the reels.

Wins don’t follow fixed paylines. Symbols pay anywhere on adjacent reels, left to right, with each way settled on the highest combination it contains. That means a way holding two pharaohs and a wild pays on the three-symbol combination, not the two. It’s a standard all-ways setup, and it does the usual job of making five-of-a-kind wins feel more reachable than they are.

The five reels hold six paying symbols per stack to work with: two royalty figures, two gods, a skull and the four card suits. A spin lands roughly one winning way in four, at 26.08% hit frequency, and on a high volatility profile those wins bunch unevenly – a run of dead spins followed by a cluster of small pays is the normal shape of a session here.

The Wild replaces for any other symbol except the Coins. It can finish a line of pharaohs, but it can’t stand in where the bonus round is concerned – the Coins are their own thing and the wild has no part in it.

Symbol Pays

Pays below are multiples of the line stake.

• Pharaoh (orange headdress): 2 pays 0.5x, 3 pays 4x, 4 pays 7.5x, 5 pays 37.5x
• Queen (purple headdress): 3 pays 2x, 4 pays 4x, 5 pays 20x
• Falcon God (orange): 3 pays 1.5x, 4 pays 3x, 5 pays 15x
• Jackal God (Anubis): 3 pays 1x, 4 pays 2x, 5 pays 12.5x
• Skull/Mask: 3 pays 0.5x, 4 pays 1x, 5 pays 5x
• Card suits (Heart, Spade, Diamond, Club): 3 pays 0.2x, 4 pays 0.5x, 5 pays 1.5x

Only the Pharaoh pays on two symbols, and even then it’s 0.5x the stake. There’s a clear step down from the Queen to the Falcon God, and another from the Jackal God to the Skull, before the four suits share a single bottom rung. Five pharaohs at 37.5x is the whole ladder’s ceiling.

That ceiling is modest, and it tells you where this game keeps its real money. Base wins will move the balance in small increments; the amounts that justify high volatility live in the temple, behind the plaque.

Golden Triad Bonus Game & Coins

The Bonus Game

The Bonus Game plays out with different types of Coins, and it’s the reason the GRAND plaque sits over the temple entrance. Three coin types do the work, each with its own job once they start landing.

• Cash Coin – carries its own value and pays it
• Collect Coin – gathers the values of the other coins on the board
• Doubler Coin – doubles the value of the other coins

It’s the interplay between the three that gives the round its shape. A Collect Coin landing among ordinary cash values is a decent moment. A Doubler landing first, followed by a Collect, turns the same board into something considerably better – the doubling happens before the gathering, so both effects compound.

Board Fill & the GRAND Prize

The bonus board shows coins worth 2x alongside a single 20x coin, and filling the board is what awards the GRAND Prize. That’s the whole objective: land coins, keep the gaps shrinking, and hope the Doubler arrives while there’s still room for it to matter.

The 20x coin is the one worth watching. It’s the largest single value on the board from the outset, and any doubling or collecting that runs through it carries that weight with it. A board that fills around the 20x coin, rather than in spite of it, is where the round’s better outcomes come from.

The structure rewards patience within a single round, because a filled board is worth far more than the coins that make it up. Every coin that lands changes the arithmetic of the ones already there.

Bonus Buy

The round can be bought outright via a BUY button on the right edge of the screen, in the base game and in play. No price tiers are published for it, so what the shortcut costs depends on where you’re playing and at what stake.

The purchase drops you straight into the coin round. On a high-volatility game with the paytable weighted this heavily towards the bonus, that’s a shortcut worth pricing carefully before using – the base game’s 37.5x ceiling means the buy is where most of the game’s real potential sits.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 6.2/10

Most of a session here is spent walking the temple’s outer colonnade, waiting for the door to open. That’s the one reason to choose it: the pull of what’s behind the GRAND plaque. The base game pays little and knows it, and the bonus round is where everything interesting happens.

That round is the strength, and for a specific reason: the three coins actually talk to each other, so a late Doubler can rewrite a whole board rather than add to it. The weakness is everything outside it – the reels are decoration, and a long run of small suit wins gets old before the Coins show up.

This is one for coin-collectors who enjoy the build and don’t mind a front door that opens rarely. Players who want the base game itself to pay its way should walk past this temple. For the rest, the plaque is worth the wait.
