Good Knight Fortune Slot Review
A many-turreted castle sits on a hillside at dusk, its blue spires lit warm against a purple sky, pines crowding in from the corners. It’s a lot of romance for a game whose real interest lies lower down: Good Knight Fortune, from Hot Rise Games, is one of the very few slots where the most important grid on the screen never forms a winning line.
Two grids are stacked vertically: a Symbol Grid up top for wins and a Grass Grid of characters below, talking to each other on every spin. It’s a structure you rarely see, and it’s the reason to care about this one.
The maths runs at 94% RTP, medium-high volatility, a 34.1% hit frequency and a maximum win of 8,200x bet on 40 fixed paylines. Stakes run from 0.10 to 30 per spin. Fair warning: the split layout takes a few minutes to read, and the symbols can be small. The effort pays off.
Base Game & Features
Wins form on the Symbol Grid, a conventional five-reel, 40-payline set-up where only the highest combination per line counts. Beneath it sits the Grass Grid, a courtyard strip of character symbols that don’t pay themselves. What they do is react.
The link between the two grids is the BONUS Moon. A Moon landing on the Symbol Grid drops to the matching position in the Grass Grid and strikes the character sitting there, and whatever gets hit fires its effect onto the reels above. It’s a simple idea once you’ve seen it, and it gives every Moon something riding on it.
- Wild Bishop – fires Wilds onto the reels when struck
- Multiplier Knight – fires Multipliers onto the reels when struck (Treasure Spins only)
- Trigger King – awards Treasure Spins when struck
- Prize Footmen and Prize Chests – carry instant prizes during Treasure Spins
The wild substitutes for other paying symbols in the usual way. Wilds arrive mostly through the characters below, which is where the base game gets its teeth.
Wild Bishop
A Wild Bishop struck by a Moon fires three to five Wilds to random positions on the Symbol Grid. Should one of those Wilds land on top of another, the entire reel goes Wild. A Bishop that lands without being hit still fires, but only a single Wild to the matching position. He’s active in both the base game and Treasure Spins.
King’s Ransom
When the King symbol appears on reel 1 and reel 5 at the same time, every other character symbol, the Queen, Knight and Footman, converts to Kings before pays are calculated. The trigger is evaluated after any Wild Bishop or Multiplier Knight effects resolve, and the wild doesn’t substitute for the King for trigger purposes. It’s the one feature that pays entirely on the reels, with no Moon involved.
Good Knight Fortune Bonus Features & Treasure Spins
A Moon landing on a TRIGGER KING in the base game awards eight Treasure Spins. During the round, the Grass Grid fills up, with all of this active:
- Multipliers – sticky, building through the round
- Wilds – fired by the Wild Bishop
- Prizes – carried by the Prize Footmen, topping out at 2.5x bet
- Prize Chests – feeding a jackpot ladder that includes a 100x Major
Multiplier Knight
The Multiplier Knight appears in Treasure Spins only. When a Moon hits him, he sends three to five Multipliers out onto the Symbol Grid. The first Multiplier to land on a position creates a 2x; any further Multiplier landing on an existing one increases it by 1x.
Multipliers stick to their positions until the feature ends, so the grid builds as the round goes on. Multipliers in the same winning combination multiply against each other, and because this is a paylines game rather than a ways game, a scatter of 2x markers does little unless they share a line.
Wild Reel
A Wild fired up from the Grass Grid that strikes a Wild already on the reels converts the whole reel. It’s the flashiest thing the game does, and it tends to arrive exactly when the multipliers need a line to land on.
Prizes, Chests and Retriggers
The Footmen’s prizes are pocket change rather than game-changers. The chests are worth more and seem achievable, and the jackpots add to the round without stealing the show. A Major can and does land.
A Moon landing on a TRIGGER KING during the round awards three additional spins. The Trigger King turns up often in the Grass Grid, so the eight starting spins stretch further than they sound, though a round can still finish just as the multipliers were getting somewhere.

Our Honest Verdict
Playing Good Knight Fortune feels less like spinning reels and more like watching a small court go about its business: Moons drop, characters react, and something is always being fired somewhere. That busy lower board is why somebody would choose it over any ordinary five-reeler, because even a losing spin can be the most interesting thing on the screen.
The Treasure Spins round is the best of it. Eight spins sounds thin, but the sticky multipliers, fired wilds and chest ladder all compound on the same board, and the Trigger King retriggers often enough that a good round keeps growing rather than peaking early.
The weakness is the entrance, not the party. The vertical split is cramped, the symbols are small, and the first ten minutes belong to the rule sheet rather than the reels. Anyone after simple spin-and-watch action will never get comfortable with it. For players who like a board that builds, though, the castle gates are well worth pushing open.
Good Knight Fortune FAQs
-
How do you trigger Treasure Spins in Good Knight Fortune?
Eight Treasure Spins are awarded when a BONUS Moon lands on a TRIGGER KING in the Grass Grid during the base game. The Trigger King appears regularly, and the round can also be bought for 40x bet. -
Can Treasure Spins be retriggered?
Yes. If a BONUS Moon lands on a TRIGGER KING during Treasure Spins, three additional spins are awarded. The Trigger King lands often in the Grass Grid, so retriggers are a realistic part of a good round. -
What does the Wild Bishop do?
When a BONUS Moon hits the Wild Bishop, he fires three to five Wilds to random positions on the Symbol Grid. A stack of two Wilds turns the entire reel Wild, and an unhit Wild Bishop fires a single Wild to the matching position instead. -
How do the multipliers from the Multiplier Knight work?
The Multiplier Knight fires three to five Multipliers onto the Symbol Grid when hit by a BONUS Moon. The first Multiplier on a position creates a 2x, further Multipliers add 1x, and all multipliers stay sticky until the end of Treasure Spins. Multipliers in the same winning combination multiply against each other, and they only count fully when they land on the same payline. -
How does the King’s Ransom feature trigger?
King’s Ransom triggers when the King symbol appears on reel 1 and reel 5 at the same time. All other character symbols, the Queen, Knight and Footman, become Kings before pays are calculated. The wild does not substitute for the King for the purposes of this trigger. -
How much does the Buy Bonus cost?
The Buy Bonus costs 40x your bet per spin and plays a spin that is guaranteed to trigger the Treasure Spins feature. -
What is the RTP and volatility of Good Knight Fortune?
The RTP is 94% and the game runs at medium-high volatility, with a hit frequency of 34.1%. In practice that matches how it plays: regular enough action between features, with the bigger results concentrated in Treasure Spins. -
How do the two grids in Good Knight Fortune work?
The Symbol Grid on top is a five-reel, 40-payline grid where winning combinations form. The Grass Grid beneath it holds character symbols such as the Wild Bishop, Multiplier Knight and Trigger King. A BONUS Moon landing on the Symbol Grid drops down and strikes the character in the matching position, activating its effect.
