Joker’s Mega Multipliers Slot Review
A slot with no free spins round and a 50x top symbol has no business holding your attention, and yet this one does. Joker’s Mega Multipliers, from Mascot Gaming, does it by making every spin two results at once: a reel set that swells and shrinks between one and 3 rows, and a multiplier wheel that decides what any win is actually worth.
The stage is a sunny village-fair meadow behind red velvet curtains, a blonde jester leaning in from one corner and a cat in a matching hat from the other. Up to 243 ways to win, an RTP of 96.31%, and no bonus round anywhere. The studio’s Jokers Wild Chaos and Jester’s Coin Tricks run leaner set-ups too, but this one stakes everything on the spin itself. The old rituals are all it has.
Rockways: How the Reels Pay
Rockways is the pay engine, and it runs on every spin. Matching symbols pay left to right, may start on any reel, and don’t need to sit on adjacent reels at all. The number of winning ways changes from spin to spin, from a single way up to 243, as the reel set itself shifts between 1, 2 and 3 rows.
Only the highest win per way is paid, and payouts scale with the bet you’ve selected. There’s no configuration to manage and no bet mode that changes the mechanic – it’s simply how the game pays, on every spin, at every stake.
That variable layout is the game’s most interesting structural choice. A spin can land on a skinny single-row grid, and the next can open out to a full 3 rows with every way live. It gives the base game a rhythm that a fixed five-by-three grid doesn’t have.
The ways count on any given spin is genuinely up in the air. Nothing you do changes it – the reel set decides, spin by spin, how much of the grid is even in play.
The Paytable
It’s a classic fruit-and-luck line-up, and all values below are multiples of the total bet:
- 7 – three: 5x, four: 10x, five: 50x
- BAR – three: 2.5x, four: 5x, five: 20x
- Diamond – three: 1.4x, four: 2.5x, five: 8.5x
- Lemon / Watermelon – three: 0.7x, four: 1.5x, five: 4x
- Grape / Cherry – three: 0.5x, four: 1x, five: 2x
The top of the table is modest: 50x the bet for five 7s. There’s no wild and no scatter in this game, so nothing steps in to complete combinations or trigger a round. What the paytable shows is the whole of what the reels themselves will pay.
The Multiplier Reel
An additional multiplier reel spins together with the main reels on every single spin, and the value it lands on is applied to the total win of that spin. It’s the feature the game is named for, and it’s the reason a paytable that tops out at 50x can still produce respectable hits.
The wheel’s values change from spin to spin, and they climb into double digits – x15 is on the wheel, alongside smaller values in the x3 to x10 range. Because it applies to the combined win rather than to a single line, a busy Rockways spin with several small ways landing at once can get a meaningful lift from one multiplier.
A three-symbol Lemon win pays 0.35 at the 0.5 bet shown on the paytable screen, and a x3 multiplier lifts it to 0.70. Small numbers, but that’s the pattern at work on every winning spin – the reels decide the win, the wheel decides what it’s worth.
The Boost Feature
Boost is an opt-in volatility switch. When the reels aren’t spinning, you can toggle it on, and from then on a fixed surcharge is added to each bet as an ante. Turn it off again whenever you like, again only while the reels are still.
It’s a simple ante system rather than a tiered one – one fixed cost, one effect, which is to raise the game’s volatility. If you want the base game to swing harder without touching the gamble, this is the only lever the game gives you.
The surcharge applies to every bet while Boost is on, not just to winning ones. Over a long session that’s a real cost, and it buys a swingier ride rather than any change to what the symbols themselves pay.
The Risk (Gamble) Feature
Any winning spin can be taken into a card duel instead of banked. You pick a card and guess whether it’ll beat the one the game reveals.
- Your card is higher – the current win is doubled
- Your card is lower – the current win is lost
- Both cards are equal – the current win stays as it was
The ranking has one quirk: the Ace is the highest card, and the only card that beats it is the 2. A held 2 therefore beats everything an Ace would not, which turns the obvious guess into a genuine calculation when the game shows an Ace of its own.
You can collect the current win at any point before committing to the next guess, which makes the ladder a series of decisions rather than a single all-or-nothing flip. Doubling a 50x top-pay win repeatedly is the only route to the game’s ceiling: the most the Gamble game can deliver is 1,000x the total bet.
One restriction applies – the Risk feature isn’t available in Autoplay mode. Gamblers have to play manually, spin by spin, which is presumably the point.
What Runs When
The game’s four systems and their triggers, at a glance:
- Rockways – every spin, no trigger required
- Win Multiplier – every spin, applied to the total win
- Boost – player-enabled when the reels aren’t spinning
- Risk (Gamble) – offered after any winning spin, not in Autoplay
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
This is a game you play one decision at a time – spin, watch the rows and the wheel land, then choose whether the cards are worth it – and that’s the whole reason to choose it over something with a bonus round to wait for. The jester’s meadow never changes, but the grid under it does, and no two spins feel quite the same size.
The multiplier wheel is the best thing here: it turns a paytable that would be forgettable on its own into something with a bit of reach, because every win has a second number coming. The worst is that there’s nothing underneath it – once you’ve seen the wheel and the card guess, you’ve seen the entire show, and 1,000x isn’t a ceiling that keeps anyone dreaming.
It’s for players who enjoy the spin itself and like deciding what to do with a win rather than waiting for one to arrive. Anyone chasing free spins, wilds or a feature ladder will find the tent empty. For everyone else, the joker and his cat are decent company.
