Base Game & Features
Peppe’s Pepperoni Pizza Plaza is unlike your typical slot layout. Instead of individual reels, this game has a row formation of 6-5-4-3-2. There are 720 active ways to win, and bet sizes range between £0.10 and £250 per spin.
Wins occur when 2-5 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the bottom row upwards. This game consists of 5 High and Low-paying symbols, each producing payouts between 0.1x and 3x your bet. Wilds and Golden Wilds appear in the Free Spins round, substituting for all symbols except Scatters and Money symbols.
Peppe’s Pepperoni Pizza Plaza is classified as a Highly Volatile slot with an overall RTP of 96.55% and a max win cap of 6,000x your bet.
Money Symbols
Amongst regular paytable symbols are special Money symbols in the form of Chillis. With each spin, these symbols reveal a random value between 2x and 2,000x your bet.
Ante Bet
Players can choose to activate the Ante Bet Feature for an additional 50% of their current bet. Once active, there is an increased chance of landing Scatter symbols, meaning the Free Spins round is more likely to trigger.
Bonus Buy
Non-UK players can order a side of Free Spins with their order via a Bonus Buy option. This feature costs an additional 120x your bet and instantly triggers the Free Spins round in the next spin.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters anywhere on the grid triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10, 15, and 20 Free Spins respectively. Before the round begins, between 0 and 5 Modifiers are randomly applied to the Free Spins feature – these include:
- More Money Symbols: Money symbols appear more frequently on the grid.
- More Wilds: Regular wilds appear more frequently on the grid.
- More Golden Wilds: These symbols appear more frequently on the grid.
- Level 2: The Free Spins round begins at Level 2 on the progressive feature.
- Extra Spins: Awards an additional +2 Free Spins.
During Free Spins, each Wild symbol that hits is collected and stored within the Progressive Feature above the main grid, after they have collected all Money symbol values in view. When a Golden Wild hits, the grid size expands to a 6-9-12-15-18 formation. After expansion, the grid size will return to its original state.
Every 4th Wild symbol collected will result in a retrigger, awarding the following outcome:
- 4 Wild Symbols: Award 10 Free Spins and a Money Multiplier of x2.
- 8 Wild Symbols: Award 10 Free Spins and a Money Multiplier of x3.
- 12 Wild Symbols: Award 10 Free Spins and a Money Multiplier of x10.
Lastly, when there is only 1 Wild symbol in view, at the end of the spin, Money symbols can appear in random positions across the grid.
Our Verdict
Reel Kingdom can dress up Peppe’s Pepperoni Pizza Plaza as much they’d like, but it still remains a copycat of almost every Big Bass Bonanza title in their possession. Depending on your opinion of the Big Bass series, this game may just be a hard pill to swallow.
We appreciate the thought that’s gone into Peppe’s Pepperoni Pizza Plaza, specifically the grid layout and how the theme ties in beautifully with everything on offer here, however, it’s fallen prey to Reel Kingdom’s obsession with the Big Bass series. It’s surprising that they didn’t throw in a fish for good measure, being a food-themed slot an’all.
It’s difficult to find the words when a game has strong ties to many others without sounding like a broken record. If you’re a big fan of the Big Bass series, you’ll find yourself comfortable here. Otherwise, if you’re like us and fancy a change from the usual suspects, you’ll be better off elsewhere.
