Relic Riches Slot Review
The sun is going down over the desert. A weathered sandstone sphinx watches from the lower edge of the screen, the sky burns out from dusky blue into peach, and the gold-framed reels sit in the middle of it like a carved inscription. Plenty of Egyptian slots have mood. Very few of them can also claim to be among the more generous games you’ll spin, and that, rather than the hieroglyphs, is what makes Relic Riches worth a look.
Amatic have built it on a 5×4 grid with 10 fixed paylines, and it runs at 97.85% RTP, a figure well above the norm and the single best reason to take the game seriously. Sister titles like Fortune Joker 20, Double Joker 20 and Mr Magic show the studio’s fondness for straightforward, classically shaped games, and Relic Riches follows that line with one twist in its bonus round worth the detour.
The Base Game and Its Symbols
Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels across 10 fixed lines. It’s a traditional setup with no surprises in its shape, which suits the game’s classical look. The reels carry a tomb-raider’s shopping list of symbols, headed by the most valuable relic of all.
The paytable, with values as the game prints them:
- Sarcophagus – 5 for two, 50 for three, 200 for four, 2,000 for five
- Treasure Chest – 30 for three, 150 for four, 1,000 for five
- Backpack – 20 for three, 100 for four, 500 for five
- Canope statues – 10 for three, 50 for four, 200 for five, with any combination of the different canopes counting
- A, K, Q, J – 5 for three, 25 for four, 100 for five
Every other symbol needs three from the left before it pays anything at all. The sarcophagus is the one exception, starting at two, which matters more than it sounds on a game this shape: it’s the only symbol that can rescue a screen where the first two reels landed well and the rest fell apart.
The canope rule is the other small print worth reading. Any mixture of canope symbols pays, so you don’t need three of the same statue; three different ones will do. It quietly loosens up the mid-tier of the paytable in a way the symbol list alone doesn’t advertise.
There’s no wild during ordinary spins. The Collector symbol, which does the substituting, exists only inside the bonus round, so in the main game the paytable is exactly what it says it is and nothing stands in for anything. That leaves the royals working for their money; a royal-heavy screen pays nothing unless three of them line up from the left.
The gap between the tiers is steep. Five sarcophagi pay 2,000 against the treasure chest’s 1,000, so the top symbol does most of the heavy lifting at the top end, while the royals are there to keep the spin count ticking over. On a 10-line game with no base game modifiers, that ladder is the whole economy of a normal spin.
The pyramid-shaped BONUS symbol is the other special, and it lands on any position rather than on a payline. It appears only in the main game, which matters for reasons the next section gets into.
Bonus Spins and the Collector Round
Bonus Spins
Three, four or five BONUS symbols anywhere on the reels award the bonus spins, and the count steps up with the trigger:
- 3 BONUS symbols – 10 bonus spins
- 4 BONUS symbols – 15 bonus spins
- 5 BONUS symbols – 25 bonus spins
Because the BONUS symbol exists only in the main game, the round can’t retrigger. What you walk in with is what you get, so the difference between 10 and 25 spins is the difference the trigger symbols make and nothing else. The round spends that budget on a second layer of mechanics built around the canope statues already sitting in the paytable.
Cashwins and the Collector
During the bonus, a CASHWIN value is placed on every canope symbol that lands. The canopes stop being ordinary paytable symbols and become carriers of cash prizes instead, which changes what you’re watching for on each spin. A screen can fill with them, and each one holds its own value until something collects it.
The COLLECTOR symbol is the other addition, and it lives only in this round. It appears on all reels, and each Collector that lands gathers every CASHWIN sitting on the canopes across the screen and adds them to the total win. One Collector can sweep a whole screen of cash values at once, and more than one can land on the same spin.
On top of the sweeping, the Collector also substitutes for all symbols, so it completes line wins while it works. That dual role is what gives the round its shape: every canope without a Collector behind it is a prize left waiting, and every Collector without canopes is still useful as a wild.
The timing between the two is where the tension sits. A canope that lands on an early spin keeps its CASHWIN on screen for the Collectors that may follow, so the round builds rather than resolving spin by spin. The best-case screen is a cluster of loaded canopes with a Collector arriving late to take the lot; the flat one is a string of spins where neither half of the pairing shows up, and the wild role is all the Collector has to offer.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing Relic Riches is a patient dig: long stretches of plain, classical spins under that lovely dusk sky, with everything pointed at the moment the bonus opens and the canopes start stacking cash values. That single building mechanic is the reason to choose it, and when a Collector finally arrives to sweep a loaded screen, it pays off the wait properly.
The round’s construction is the game’s real strength. Prizes that sit and wait, a wild that doubles as the sweep, and a stepped entry that makes every extra trigger symbol matter – it’s a simple pairing with genuine timing to it. The weakness is everything either side of it: the base game is bare, with no wild, no modifiers and a ladder so steep the royals barely register, and once you’re in the round there’s no way back in.
This suits players who enjoy an old-school structure, generous maths and one well-built idea, and who don’t need something happening on every spin. Anyone after constant modifiers or showpiece bonus rounds will find this tomb a bit too quiet. For what it sets out to be, though, it’s dug carefully and paid out honestly.
