Silver Coins Slot Review
Fruit and BAR symbols on a three-reel grid, with coins scattered among them and a magnet waiting to pull them in. Silver Coins is built by BF Games, the studio behind Honey Beast, and it makes an argument most three-reel games avoid: that a 3×3 grid can carry a four-tier progressive jackpot without the format collapsing under it. Fruit, BAR and coin symbols share the reels, and a jackpot ladder sits above the lot.
The old three-reel formula is a crowded field, and Silver Coins doesn’t try to win it with size. It wins it, or doesn’t, on whether a small grid can carry four jackpot tiers and a coin-collecting magnet without feeling thin. On the evidence of the format alone, the pieces fit: the coins are on the reels, the magnet is waiting for them, and the ladder sits above both.
Base Game & Features
The grid is three reels by three rows, the smallest format in common use. There’s no payline count to study and no ways mechanic to decode; wins line up across the short grid and that’s the whole arrangement. Nine positions, a handful of symbol types, and nothing between you and the result.
What the reels actually carry is a familiar mix. The symbol set breaks down like this:
- Fruit symbols – the classic filler of the three-reel format
- BAR symbols – the other half of that tradition
- Wild symbols – reels two and three only
- Coin symbols – printed values of one, two and three
- The magnet symbol – the collector at the heart of the game
The wilds stand in for other symbols to complete combinations, but their reach is deliberately limited. A wild on the first reel would make three-of-a-kind wins routine on a grid this small, so it stays out. Two of the three reels carrying a substitute is still generous for the format.
The coin symbols are where the character sits. Each carries a printed value, so a coin isn’t just a picture, it’s a stated amount waiting to be collected. The values run one, two and three, and each one lands as an individual symbol in its own position on the grid.
The magnet symbol is the other half of that idea, and the two belong together. The coins carry the values; the magnet gathers them. Everything the game pays beyond a standard line win runs through that pairing.
Double Chance
A Double Chance toggle sits below the reels, a simple switch rather than a buried menu option. Flip it on and the bet rises in exchange for better odds of the bonus features landing. Flip it off and the stake returns to its standard level.
The game keeps the exact mechanics of the adjustment to itself; the label states the offer and leaves it there. What the toggle gives you in practice is a choice between two postures on the same game: standard stake with standard bonus odds, or a raised stake with the features pulled closer.
It’s the kind of option that suits this format precisely. On a nine-position grid there’s no bet-menu gymnastics to navigate, so a single switch covers the whole decision. Players who want the magnet and the ladder arriving sooner pay for it; players who don’t, don’t.
Silver Coins Bonus Features
The Magnet Bonus
The Magnet Bonus is the game’s centrepiece. A magnet symbol lands on the reels and pulls in the coin symbols, collecting their printed values as it goes. It runs in the order the game lays it out:
- The magnet symbol appears on the grid
- Coin symbols on the reels are drawn in and collected
- Each coin contributes its printed value of one, two or three
- The collection feeds the jackpot ladder
One through three might read as small change on the face of it, but the coins are also the route into the bigger prizes. The collecting is the point, not the amounts being collected.
Because every coin on the grid counts when the magnet arrives, a single bonus can sweep several values at once. Three coins of three, two and one in the same round adds up to a six-value collection, and that’s before the ladder’s own prizes enter the picture. The mechanic rewards a grid that happens to be full of coins at the right moment.
The Jackpot Ladder
Above the coin collection sits a four-tier jackpot ladder, drawn as coin icons arranged around the magnet itself:
- Mini – the entry tier
- Minor – one step up
- Major – the second-largest pot
- Grand – the top of the ladder
The four tiers are drawn as one arrangement around the magnet, so the mechanic reads as a single system rather than two separate ones. Collecting coins feeds the ladder; the ladder pays the prizes.
Which tier unlocks at which point is the question every spin is quietly asking. Four steps is a considered number for a game this size: enough separation between the Mini and the Grand to make each tier mean something, few enough that the ladder stays legible on a three-reel screen.
Progressive Jackpot
The jackpot is progressive, which means the top prizes build over time rather than sitting at fixed values. A fraction of play feeds the pots, and the pots grow until somebody takes them down.
That structure suits a small-grid game unusually well. A 3×3 format can’t promise enormous line wins, so the ladder does the heavy lifting on win potential instead, with the Grand tier at the top of it.
Silver Coins states no maximum win figure. On a progressive, that’s honest arithmetic rather than evasion: the ceiling moves as the pots grow, so there’s no fixed number to print.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 6.9/10
This is a game you play with one eye on the ladder. Nine positions, a spin, a coin or two landing: the pace is quick and the base game exists mostly to keep the coins coming until a magnet arrives, and that single chase is why anyone picks it over the hundred other fruit machines on the shelf.
What BF Games got right is that the whole game reads in one glance; coins feed the magnet, the magnet feeds the ladder, and there’s nothing on screen that isn’t pulling in the same direction. What they got wrong is the opacity around it. The Double Chance switch takes your money without saying what it changes, and the return depends on which of BF Games’ three RTP settings (92.21%, 94.17% or 96.23%) the casino runs, which leaves a player guessing at both the price and the return of the one button the game puts in front of them.
It suits players who like their slots short, sharp and aimed at a jackpot, and it will leave anyone who wants elaborate bonus rounds or big line wins hungry. For the audience it’s built for, the coins and the magnet between them do the job.
