The Good Farmer

The Good Farmer Slot Review

Roosters, sheep, horses and a tractor, all framed against a farmyard shed that does more than sit in the background. This is The Good Farmer, a Boomerang build where the shed is the whole point: land enough eggs and it becomes the stage for the game’s one real feature.

It’s a modest setup on paper. A 5×4 grid with 40 paylines, RTP of 96.05%, and medium-high volatility with a hit frequency of 33.33%, so roughly one spin in three connects. Stakes run from 0.40 to 24, which tells you where this one sits in the market: a mid-stakes barnyard slot, not a high-roller’s field.

Boomerang have a busy catalogue behind them, including 3 Wonders Catch, Chilli Super Stars and Knight’s Gold Rush 3 Cycle, and this one trades on the same instinct for simple, familiar setups. Whether the egg-collecting loop gives it enough character of its own is what the rest of this covers.

Base Game & Features

The reels carry a farmyard cast, each symbol with its own coloured border to keep the tiers readable at a glance:

• The farmer, who doubles as the wild
• A horse
• A rooster
• A sheep
• A tractor
• Egg symbols carrying cash values

The coloured borders matter more than you’d expect. Five reels and four rows give you 20 symbol positions to scan on every spin, and without the colour coding a mid-grid tangle of animals would be hard to read. As it is, your eye goes straight to whatever matters: the high symbols, the wild, or an egg drifting in from the side.

Wins pay left to right across adjacent reels on any of the 40 fixed lines. Only the highest combination on each line counts, so a line stacked with matching symbols pays once, not for every sub-combination inside it. On a four-row grid that’s a meaningful rule: there’s more room for near-miss shapes that look like wins and aren’t.

The farmer is the wild, substituting for other paying symbols to complete wins. Beyond that, the base game has no modifiers of its own. No random features, no collection meters, nothing ticking over between bonuses. What you see on the first spin is what you get on the thousandth.

The eggs are the ones to watch. They land on the reels carrying cash values tied to your stake, and six or more of them in view takes you into the feature. That’s the entire route in. There’s no scatter pair that pays a consolation, no partial collection that carries over, so a spin with five eggs is worth exactly the same as a spin with none.

The values scale with the bet. Individual eggs show amounts of 1x and 2x the total bet, so a single egg can already be worth double your spin, and the top-value eggs are doing more work than the paytable’s regular symbols. A full screen of them, with the top row adding multipliers on top, is where the money in this game lives.

With a hit rate of one spin in three, the base game pays often enough to keep the balance moving while you wait. Medium-high volatility means the sizes vary widely, though, and the 40-line layout puts a floor under how small those frequent wins can be. Plenty of them will come back below your stake.

The Good Farmer Bonus: Hold & Respin

Six or more eggs anywhere on the grid triggers Hold & Respin. The eggs that triggered it lock in place, each displaying the cash value it landed with, and the rest of the grid respins. Every new egg that lands locks too, and the sequence runs until a respin brings nothing new. That’s the standard shape of a hold-and-collect round, and The Good Farmer doesn’t deviate from it.

The shed is the structure at the heart of it. During the feature a sixth column opens up inside it, extending the grid beyond the five reels you see in the base game. That extra column is more than decoration: the shed holds symbols as well, including the wild, the farmer, the horse, the rooster and the sheep, so the collect can grow in more directions than the trigger screen suggested.

A top row sits above the reels carrying enhancement icons. Multipliers such as x2, a tornado and egg icons all modify the values on the egg tiles below, so a respin sequence can escalate well past what the eggs first showed. An x2 applied to a cluster of locked eggs doubles the total in one move, and the tornado can move values around the grid, which matters most in the late stages of a round when the remaining positions are few.

In short, the round works like this:

• Trigger: six or more egg symbols anywhere in view
• Lock: triggering eggs hold their cash values in place
• Respins: remaining positions respin, and each new egg locks in
• Top row: multiplier and enhancement icons modify egg values
• Tornado: an enhancement icon that reshuffles the values in play
• Shed: a sixth column opens, holding wilds and animal symbols alongside the eggs
• Collect: the round ends when no new eggs land, and locked values pay out

The Good Farmer’s maximum win is 10,000x the stake. That’s the ceiling on a feature sequence, however far the eggs and the top-row multipliers build. It puts the game in line with most collect slots, where a stated ceiling is normally part of the pitch, and the top-row multipliers are what carry a round towards it.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7/10

The Good Farmer is a single-feature game and it doesn’t hide it. The base game exists to land eggs, and everything else, the wild, the animal symbols, the one-in-three hit rate, is there to keep you spinning until six of them show up. Everything this game has to offer sits inside that shed.

The strength is the top row. Multipliers and enhancements turning a modest cluster of eggs into something bigger is where the real suspense lives, and the sixth column gives the round a shape most egg collectors don’t have. The weakness is everything either side of it: a plain base game with no modifiers, and a bet ceiling of 24 that limits the audience by design.

For players who enjoy a straightforward collect-and-respin loop without extra systems layered on top, this farmyard does its job. Anyone after layered features or high-stakes action won’t find them here. It’s an honest day’s work rather than a harvest festival.
