Trolls Frenzy Slot Review
Five shaggy trolls lean over the top of a mossy stone arch, watching the reels like they’ve got money riding on the outcome. Trolls Frenzy is a slot that remembers you: the progress you make towards its biggest bonus is banked between sessions, in a format that usually wipes the slate the moment you walk away. SpinOn set all of this in a lush cartoon glade of teal and purple light, blue crystal shards growing out of the earth, with the trolls themselves propped over the frame like a row of restless spectators.
It runs on a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines, stakes from 0.20 to 50, high volatility, and a GRAND jackpot worth 5,000x bet. Sister titles worth a look include Aurora Storm, Dr. Cranko’s Lab and Dream Diner Deluxe.
Base Game & Features
Wins pay left to right across the 20 fixed paylines, with a hit rate around one spin in four. The paytable pays for three to six of a kind, the six-of-a-kind values coming into play on the larger reel configurations used in the bonus round.
Symbol values at a glance, as multiples of your line bet:
- Trolls Frenzy logo – 0.25x, 1x, 5x, 25x for three to six
- Orange troll (pink hat) / Blue yeti – 0.15x, 0.5x, 2x, 10x
- Purple book / Orange amulet – 0.1x, 0.3x, 1x, 5x
- Gold pile / Green key – 0.05x, 0.15x, 0.5x, 2.5x
Wilds substitute for any paying symbol, and are added to the reels as part of the Avalanche Feature.
Avalanche Feature
Every winning spin triggers an avalanche. Winning symbols are removed from the reels, and before the gaps refill, an Extra Wild is dropped into the position of one of the destroyed symbols.
The remaining positions then fill from above, and any new win avalanches again. A single spin can chain several avalanches together, each one dropping a fresh Extra Wild into play.
Reel Multipliers
Each Extra Wild that appears bumps the multiplier on its reel by +1. A win using a symbol on that reel gets the multiplier applied, and if several boosted reels contribute to the same win, their multipliers multiply together rather than adding.
A x2 reel and a x3 reel in one win pays x6. The multipliers don’t reset between spins – they build for as long as the session lasts, which is what turns a modest paytable into something with real reach.
Fast Bonus Reel (Precious Gain)
A side meter cycles through four jackpot tiers, available in the base game and during free spins:
- MINI – x10 bet
- MINOR – x50 bet
- MAJOR – x200 bet
- GRAND – x5,000 bet
The Fast Bonus Reel doesn’t spin – when it pays, it pays. Tier values scale with your bet, and nothing is awarded from this feature during the Big Money Super Free Spins Bonus.
Trolls Sunstone Meter
The Sunstone is a base-game scatter that doesn’t pay cash – it feeds a collection meter. Progress is saved per bet level, so changing stakes doesn’t lose your build. If you’ve been collecting at a stake of 1 and switch to 2, the meter at 1 keeps its progress for when you return.
The meter runs 18 levels, with the requirement climbing by 50 scatters each time: level one needs 50, level 18 needs 900. That meter drives everything in the bonus section below.
Trolls Frenzy Free Spins & Bonuses
Free Spins
Land five or more Sunstone scatters anywhere in the base game and you’re awarded five free spins. The round doesn’t start from scratch: every reel multiplier you’ve built in the base game carries over, and each Extra Wild landing during the round pushes them higher still.
Multipliers stay live until every free spin and avalanche has finished. Scatters don’t appear during the round itself, so the only way to extend it is the Treasure Chest below.
Treasure Chest Scatter
Treasure Chests only land during free spins, on any reel. Each one pays a cash prize, or a prize bundled with extra spins. The possible outcomes:
- Cash prize – x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x7 or x10 bet
- Cash prize plus one, two or three extra free spins
The multiplier attached to a chest applies to the entire free spins series, not just the spin it landed on. A x10 chest late in the round is worth considerably more than the same chest early on.
Wheel Bonus
Clearing any non-milestone meter level spins the wheel for a cash prize multiplied by your total bet. The possible values are x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x9 and x10.
Some outcomes award a BOOST instead of cash, improving the odds of triggering the Big Money round and upgrading its parameters. Fourteen of the eighteen levels are wheel levels; the other four are the milestones.
Big Money Super Free Spins Bonus
Levels 3, 7, 12 and 18 – at 150, 350, 600 and 900 collected scatters – trigger the headline event: five free spins carrying every booster stacked up through the Wheel Bonus. The upgrades available include:
- Five extra free spins
- Increased win values, with each Treasure Chest adding extra wins multiplied by 2
- An extra reel or an extra row (6×3, 5×4 or 6×4 configurations)
- 100 Treasure Chest symbols added to the reels
The round plays at the bet that triggered it, and all boosters reset when it ends. If free spins and a wheel or milestone trigger land together, the free spins play first and any collected boosters carry into the Super series.
Bonus Buy
If 900 scatters sounds like a long way off, there’s a shortcut. The buy button costs x28 your stake and drops you straight into the free spins round at whatever bet size you choose.
It buys the standard five-spin round, not the Big Money version – the meter levels are the only route to the fully upgraded series. At the top stake of 50 that’s a hefty outlay every press, so it’s a button worth respecting.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
This is a slot you settle into rather than dip a toe into. Wins are modest and the volatility is real, yet almost nothing you do is wasted: reel multipliers stack, and the progress you build is saved, so coming back tomorrow starts where you left off. That persistence is the one reason to pick it over a dozen shinier games in the same lobby.
Its best idea is that the free spins round is earned rather than dropped on you. The more of the build you’ve done, the stronger it starts, and the wheel prizes pay along the way so the journey isn’t thankless. Without the grind, the round is thin: five spins, and the buy button only buys that bare version. Everything worth having sits behind hundreds of collected scatters.
It’s for players who enjoy a long build and can stomach high volatility in the quiet stretches; anyone after instant fireworks will find the glade too peaceful. The crystal shards at the bottom of the screen are a fair picture of how this one rewards you – slowly, then all at once.
