Vaultrix Slot Review
A riveted steel vault door fills the screen: four heavy locking bolts at its corners, a long lever handle waiting on the right, a dark navy backdrop fading to black at the edges. This is Vaultrix, and it’s a slot built around one stubborn idea. Nothing here pays automatically.
Every win sits on the board instead of in your balance, and the ending is always yours to call. It’s a stranger construction than Mancala Gaming‘s Buffalo Goes Wild 2 or Coin Fusion, closer in spirit to a push-your-luck board than a conventional slot. No reels, no paylines, no symbol matches. The ceiling is 800x your stake, and everything between the first spin and that figure is a decision about how much you’re willing to leave on the table.
Charging the Wheels
Each round spins a single marker against six coloured sectors. Red, green and blue each fill one segment of their matching wheel: red on the outer ring, green in the middle, blue on the inner. The further a wheel fills, the higher its payout climbs, and each completed wheel pays out instantly before dropping back one step.
The three wheels carry the whole paytable, and they step like this:
- Red (outer): x3.5, x11.5, x26, x48, x84, x137, x215, plus an x140 Free Cash Out when full
- Green (middle): x2.2, x7, x15, x26.8, x43.8, plus an x23 Free Cash Out when full
- Blue (inner): x1.4, x4.5, x9.8, plus an x7.7 Free Cash Out when full
- Gold (bonus): x30, x100, x300, x800
So a full blue wheel banks 7.7x your bet immediately, then steps back a single segment rather than resetting to zero. A full red wheel pays 140x on the same terms, leaving you one step back with the final segment still to reclaim.
That step-back matters. A wheel that has paid once is never far from paying again, and the biggest prizes are always one completed lap away, never quite banked.
Violet and Black
Two sectors exist to make the build harder. Violet is the softer of the two: the spin is lost, the bet goes, but every filled segment stays exactly where it was. It’s a pause, not a punishment.
Black is the punishment. It strips one segment of progress from every wheel at once, active gold wheel included. A run of black sectors can undo several spins of careful filling, which is precisely what gives the cash out buttons their weight.
Progress is never erased outright, but it can be chipped back to almost nothing. That’s the whole tension of the game in one sector.
Bets and Auto Play
One restriction shapes every session: the bet can’t be changed while any segment sits filled on the blue, green or red wheels. Your stake is locked from the first useful spin until you cash out or bust, so the opening bet decision matters more here than in most games.
Holding the play button runs auto spins for as long as you keep it held. It’s a small touch, but a sensible one in a game where a single round can run to dozens of spins.
A round that outlives your balance simply pauses rather than ends: unfinished games and unclaimed winnings are stored for 45 days, so there’s a way back if a session stops mid-build.
Cashing Out
The cash out mechanics are where Vaultrix stops being a wheel you watch and becomes a game you play. Full Cash Out banks everything: your current winnings across all wheels, ending the round on the spot, ready to start again immediately.
Partial Cash Out is the finer instrument. It pays the difference between the last and penultimate segments on each filled wheel, so you skim the most recent step of progress without abandoning the run. On a red wheel sitting at x48, that means pocketing the gap between x48 and x26 while the rest stays on the board. Two conditions apply:
- It unlocks only once at least two sectors are filled on a single wheel
- It can’t be pressed again until another spin has landed
Used well, it funds your patience: take the latest step as profit, keep the deeper progress on the board, and spin on towards the gold wheel with house money. Used badly, it bleeds a promising run one small payout at a time.
The choice is entirely yours, which is rarer in this genre than it should be.
The Gold Wheel
The fourth wheel sits behind the other three. Getting it running takes real commitment: two blue segments, three green and four red, accumulated in a single round. Do that and a gold sector joins the wheel, opening the x30 to x800 ladder.
The gold wheel has its own rules of engagement:
- Black sector hits remove progress from the gold wheel once it’s active
- Filling every gold segment pays the top prize of 800x, credited instantly
- After that payout, all gold segments reset to zero
- While the gold wheel is still locked, its accumulated segments are protected from black sectors and both cash outs
- Progress on the locked wheel is preserved for the current bet
That protection clause matters more than it looks. Locked-wheel progress can’t be skimmed by Partial Cash Out or erased by black, so every segment you bank towards the unlock is safe until the round ends. Once the wheel is live, though, it plays by the same unforgiving rules as everything else.
And there’s a sting built into the economics. Full Cash Out ends the round, but locked-wheel progress is preserved for the current bet. To reach the gold ladder at all, you have to decline every payout the three base wheels offer along the way.
The 800x prize is priced, in effect, in refused 140x payouts.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing Vaultrix is one long refusal to leave. You fill a wheel, it offers to pay, and you say not yet – again and again, until the door is nearly open or the black sector has taken enough back that you fold. The reason to choose it over something flashier is exactly that: the ending is yours to call, and few slots trust you with it.
The two cash out buttons give it real depth – being able to bank a single step of progress and keep going is a genuinely clever piece of design. Against that, the climb is slow and the 800x ceiling is thin reward for a run that long, especially when the only path there means waving off every 140x payout the red wheel puts in front of you.
This is one for the deliberate gambler – someone who enjoys weighing a walk-away more than watching reels spin, and who can be happy cracking the smaller vaults along the way. Anyone after fast bonuses and frequent fireworks will be bored before the gold wheel wakes up. The door only opens for the patient, but for them it does open.

Vaultrix’s release date is 20 October 2026. -
Who makes Vaultrix?
Vaultrix is made by Mancala Gaming. -
What is the maximum win on Vaultrix?
The maximum win is 800x your stake. Any win above that limit, including winnings from the Gamble Feature, is capped at 800x. -
How do you unlock the gold wheel in Vaultrix?
You need to accumulate two blue segments, three green segments and four red segments in a single round. Once all three thresholds are met, a gold sector appears on the wheel and the gold wheel’s x30 to x800 ladder becomes active. -
What does the black sector do?
The black sector decreases the progress of all wheels by one segment, including the gold wheel once it’s active. Progress on a still-locked gold wheel is protected from black sector hits. -
What does the violet sector do?
Violet is neutral. The bet is lost, but all currently filled segments remain unchanged, so it costs you the spin without damaging your progress. -
How does Partial Cash Out work?
Partial Cash Out pays the difference between the last and penultimate segments on each filled wheel. It becomes available once at least two sectors are filled on a single wheel, and it can only be pressed again after another spin has landed. -
What happens when you fill every red sector?
Filling all red sectors instantly pays 140x your bet to your balance. After the payout, you move one step back on the red wheel rather than resetting it completely.
