Apocalypses are an interesting theme that allows software providers to run wild with their own ideas and interpretations of what they would look like. Hacksaw Gaming and AvatarUX revealed their versions of an Apocalypse in Rotten and Zombie aPOPalypse, but there’s no guessing what situation we will find ourselves in during Lucky Apocalypse.

Base Game & Features
Yggdrasil Gaming has created the ultimate zombie Apocalypse scene in the backdrop. The high-quality graphics, smoky atmosphere, and daunting sound effects are terrifyingly brilliant, setting the scene for what’s to come.
Lucky Apocalypse is a highly volatile 6-reel, 5-row Video Slot featuring a Scatter Pays mechanic and varying bet sizes between £.€0.20 and £.€100 per spin. This game offers an overall RTP of 96% and a generous max win cap of 12,500x your bet.
Wins occur when 8-15+ symbols land anywhere across the reels, regardless of their position. When a winning combination hits, it is removed and replaced with new symbols from above, via an Avalanche Feature. This enables players to create or enhance wins in a single spin.
Wilds
Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except Scatters. When a Wild is present, it can be part of multiple winning combinations, applying to each of them simultaneously. Please note, that Wild symbols are only available in the base game, through the Progress Bar Feature.
Gigablox
Gigablox are giant versions of paytable symbols, in clusters of 1×1. These symbols can appear in sizes of 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4. When a Gigablox symbol is part of a win, the symbol splits to reveal individual 1×1 versions of the same kind.
A Gigablox symbol may also split if irregular spaces appear below it during an Avalanche event so that individual 1×1 segments can drop down.
Progress Bar
Throughout the base game and Free Spins round, a special Progress Bar is available above the main reel set. Each consecutive win adds +1 Point to the Progress Bar, which resets with the next spin. In the base game, when the Progress Bar reaches a certain point threshold, special Bonus Features are triggered – these include:
- 4+ Consecutive Wins: Adds a random Gigablox symbol of 2×2, 3×3, or x4x4 onto the reels.
- 6+ Consecutive Wins: Between 1 and 4 Wilds fall before another Avalanche Feature.
- 9+ Consecutive Wins: Triggers 8 Free Spins.

Free Spins
Landing 4, 5, or 6 Scatters anywhere in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 8 Free Spins and a payout of 1.5x, 2.5x, and 50x your bet respectively.

Our Verdict
Should we ever find ourselves amid an Apocalypse, we can always take inspiration from Ryan the Leprechaun who seems more than happy to empty a round of bullets into any zombies that walk through his pub doors.
It’s great to see a beloved character return to our screens, but he’s not quite the happy-go-lucky Leprechaun we found him to be in Rainbow Ryan. Instead, he’s a little hot-headed, foul-mouthed, and certainly not afraid to use a gun.
The base game is loaded with interesting features and a Scatter Pays mechanic, including a nifty Progress Bar, Gigablox symbols, and an Avalanche Feature. The progress bar and avalanche feature go hand-in-hand, with each win adding points that trigger multiple functions for opportunities to win big.
In Free Spins, the Progress Bar switches out individual functions for an Increasing Multiplier of up to x50. Furthermore, a Gigablox symbol is guaranteed with each spin, enhancing your chances of accessing winning sequences. During testing, we found it difficult to achieve anything higher than a x6 Multiplier, but given the game’s overall potential, this may sometimes be the case.
