Utilising Yggdrasil Gaming’s popular DoubleMax mechanic, it’s not the first time this mechanic has found its way into a Bang Bang Games release. Their humble beginnings grew mainstream through the use of the Gigablox Mechanic in Super Cash Drop, before going on to use DoubleMax in Pharaoh’s Gaze & Runemakers.
To this day, the DoubleMax mechanic remains a popular choice for developers as part of Yggdrasil Gaming’s partner platform, and for good reason. It’s a simple and effective method for doubling the Multiplier, which can quickly achieve astronomical heights.
Angry Tiki DoubleMax is built upon this very mechanic, expanding the DoubleMax series once again, but does it bring unique attributes from Bang Bang Games to earn recognition?

Base Game & Features
Angry Tiki DoubleMax is the latest release from Bang Bang Games, operating 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 fixed pay lines. Wins are applied when 3-5 matching symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1.
The highest-paying symbol is represented by the Shark, followed by the Monkey, Tucon, Turtle, and a variety of Fruit. When a winning combination is established, a fixed payout between 0.1x and 5x your bet is applied.
Additionally, Wild symbols can appear on all reels, substituting for all symbols except Scatters. After a win is evaluated, the Avalanche Feature will remove all winning symbols, creating room for new symbols to drop in. When this happens, a single Wild symbol is positioned on an empty position.
DoubleMax Multiplier
In the base game and Free Spins mode, a special DoubleMax Multiplier is active, starting at x1. Each time a win occurs, the Multiplier will double in value, applying to all future wins in the same spin. With the next paid spin, the DoubleMax Multiplier resets to x1.
Alternatively, during Free Spins, the DoubleMax Multiplier remains active between spins.
Angry Tiki Wilds
In addition to the DoubleMax Multiplier, the game reveals 5 Angry Tiki Wilds above each of the reels. To activate an Angry Tiki Wild, you will need to collect 3 Fireball symbols from the reels, which applies to its respective Tiki Wild above that reel.
Once an Agry Tiki Wild is active, it will award 1-3 Wilds to its respective reel for the next 3 consecutive spins or avalanche events. Between spins & bet levels, Fireball collections are stored.
Angry Tiki DoubleMax Free Spins
The Free Spins mode is awarded when 3 or more Scatter symbols land in the base game, awarding 7 Free Spins. At the start of this mode, +6 Fireball symbols are randomly assigned to Angry Tiki Wilds above the reels.
Each collected Fireball symbol will be carried over to Free Spins, and any leftover Fireballs from this mode will return to the base game. Please note that this mode cannot be retriggered.
Feature Gamble
If the Free Spins mode is triggered via the Bonus Buy tab, you can participate in a special Gamble Feature for a chance to win up to 13 Free Spins.
During the gamble, land the spinner in the Green Zone to win additional spins. Failing that, the current Free Spins mode will end, and you will return to the base game, empty-handed.
Bonus Boost & Bonus Buy
Players may purchase one of the following Bonus Boost & Bonus Buy options:
- Bonus Boost: Doubles your chance of triggering the Free Spins mode for 1.25x your bet per spin

Angry Tiki DoubleMax has a maximum win potential of 15,000x your bet. If a single session reaches this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Angry Tiki DoubleMax is equipped with special Tiki Wilds, but aside from this, it’s just your average DoubleMax slot. Players who are familiar with this mechanic will know what to expect – a Multiplier that doubles with each avalanche, but resets with the next spin, only to become persistent in the Free Spins mode, and offering a single Wild in place of a winning symbol.
We’re not suggesting it isn’t an effective method for an increased chance of higher payouts, but it’s pretty standard, to say the least. The Angry Tiki Wilds feature is a great add-on to have, but in all honesty, it doesn’t alter the fact that it’s a game we’ve played many times before, with a different title and theme.
Granted, Angry Tiki DoubleMax does the basics very well, but it’s nothing to scream home about. We don’t doubt the game can produce its max win potential of 15,000x your bet, but the entirety of gameplay isn’t exciting enough to keep us playing or getting anywhere near this figure.
All in all, there’s not much else we can really say about Angry Tiki DoubleMax. If you’re a loyal follower of Yggdrasil Gaming’s DoubleMax mechanic, you’ll feel right at home here, but it’s not an unlikable slot by any means.
