Big Bass Splash Slot Review
Come rain or shine, we’re always up for a spot of fishing with our favourite fisherman in Reel Kingdom’s latest instalment of the Big Bass slot series, in Big Bass Splash!
The fourth (and probably not the last) edition to the Big Bass family, Big Bass Splash, has even bigger and better tricks in its tacklebox. Given the huge popularity of the Big Bass series, it’s not surprising that Reel Kingdom has bought out a fourth, but will it deliver in ways the others didn’t?
There is nothing more exciting than a sequel to one of your favourite slots, but after the second release, your expectations are naturally quite high. The original Big Bass Bonanza was an instant hit with players, and since then, we’ve seen a Megaways variant and a Christmas theme, so what’s different about this one?
To begin, Reel Kingdom has taken out the Fishing Float and swapped it out for a Monster Truck of sorts. You’re probably wondering what this has to do with Fishing, but it’s a must-have accessory in America, which is perfect for hauling your necessary fishing items around in.
Along with a change of scenery, the soundtrack is a lot more chipper, and there are a few surprises in store for us in terms of gameplay, but we won’t spill the beans on that just yet.
With a fixed RTP of 96.71% and a high volatility score, this game possesses a max win potential of 5,000x your bet, which is a standard for Pragmatic Play and partner studios.
Will we be falling hook, line, and sinker for this latest version? Let’s play on and find out! Alternatively, you can find others in the series through a selection of trusted slot sites.

Base Game & Features
Big Bass Splash is the 4th instalment of Reel Kingdom’s Big Bass series, featuring 5 reels, 3 rows, and 10 fixed pay lines. Wins are guaranteed when 2-5 matching symbols fall upon reels 1-5, on adjacent reels.
The highest-paying symbol is the Monster Truck, followed by the fishing rod, dragonfly, tacklebox, and fish. In addition, low-paying symbols fall to A, K, Q, J, & 10 card suits, awarding payouts between 0.2x and 200x your bet.
Furthermore, Wild symbols appear on all reels in Free Spins, substituting for all symbols except Scatters. Fish symbols from the paytable reveal a random Cash Prize between 2x and 5,000x your bet.

Scatter Modifiers
In the base game, whenever 2 Scatters appear on the reels, an opportunity to reveal a third is awarded via a special Feature:
- The 2 available Scatters will move down by 1 position before leaving the main reel set, causing all other reels to Respin.
- A special Hook animation can pull one of the non-Scatter reels up to reveal a third Scatter, thus triggering Free Spins.
Bonus Buy
Non-UK players can take advantage of the Free Spins Bonus Buy for 100x their current bet (RTP 96.71%). Once purchased, the next spin will reveal 3, 4, or 5 Scatters and 10, 15, or 20 Free Spins, respectively.
Big Bass Splash has a fixed max win potential of 5,000x your bet. If a game round exceeds this, the current mode will end, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.

Big Bass Splash Free Spins
Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatters in any position on the reels triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 10, 15 and 20 Free Spins, respectively.
Before the Free Spins round begins, you will be given the chance to upgrade your current Free Spins with up to 5 Modifiers.
- Extra Fish – Awards more Fish symbols to the reels.
- Extra Fisherman – Awards more Wild Fisherman symbols to the reels.
- Extra Dynamite, Hooks and Bazookas – During Free Spins, the chance to hit the Dynamite, Hook or Bazooka features is increased.
- Level 2 Upgrade – The Free Spins round automatically starts at Level 2 on the progression meter.
- Extra Free Spins – Awards +2 Free Spins at the start of Free Spins and another +2 Free Spins to every Retrigger.

During the Free Spins round, each Wild Fisherman symbol will collect all the current values from the Money symbols on the reels. All Wild Fisherman symbols that land are collected and stored in the Progression Meter above the reels.
Every 4th Wild Fisherman symbol collected retriggers the Free Spins round, awarding an extra +10 Free Spins. A Multiplier is also awarded for each Level, increasing to x2, x3 and x10 for levels 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
The Dynamite feature may kick in when a Wild Fisherman symbol is present, minus any Money symbols. When this happens, Money symbols will appear in random positions on the reels.
Randomly, when there are Money symbols visible but no Wild Fisherman, a Hook can appear, which pulls a random reel up to bring a Fisherman symbol to the surface. Finally, if no Wild Fisherman or Money symbols are present, a Bazooka can appear, transforming all the symbols on the reels into different ones.

Our Honest Verdict
Big Bass Splash is certainly different in some ways from those before it, but in others, it’s exactly the same as other fishing slots in the series.
The biggest change here is the modifiers, which serve to enhance and improve the bonus with various enhancements; however, it feels as if it’s made little difference. Excitement builds up when you manage to lasso the modifiers, but predictably, the fisherman can be absent from the reels when you need him most, even with the extra fisherman modifier.
The Big Bass Series has certainly made its impression, and you might even argue that it’s more popular than the Fishing Frenzy slot series now; however, the predictability has always been an issue in our eyes. It’s all well and good getting to the x2 Multiplier level, or even the x3 Multiplier level, but when you do, the fisherman seemingly disappears from existence.
In terms of potential, Big Bass Splash is capable of 5,000x in max win potential, which puts it slightly above Bigger Bass Bonanza, which has an achievable max win potential of 4,000x your bet.
All in all, Big Bass Splash certainly is impressive, but only when it wants to be. The modifiers can certainly change the game, but the shock of a below-average bonus with a setup that feels big can leave you feeling cheated.
