Big Rich Turkeys Slot Review
Big Rich Turkeys puts nearly everything it can pay you on one rung of one ladder and leaves it there, which is either a confident design or a stingy one depending on how much you enjoy waiting. The rest of the money is spread thinly across five much smaller rungs, and the base game barely pays at all. What you get for that patience is a fairground at night, with three turkeys in patriotic American dress perched on a gold-and-red cabinet while a ferris wheel turns slowly behind them. Red Tiger has dressed the stall beautifully: star-painted gondolas, a striped big top, popcorn on the counter.
Underneath, it’s a modest game dressed for the occasion: a 5×3 grid, 25 win lines, a 32.95% hit rate, stakes from 0.10 to 50 per spin and a ceiling of 21,648x the bet. Three colour-coded turkeys each carry a free spins feature, built around a prize ladder that resets mid-round.
The glossy finish sits alongside Piggy Riches 2 Megaways and Golden Leprechaun Megaways in the studio’s catalogue. Whether the birds carry the weight is what the reels must answer.
How the Base Game Pays
Wins pay left to right across adjacent reels, on 25 numbered win lines. The pays are multiples of the line stake, and they’re slim at the top: five Gold Turkeys returns 4x, which tells you most of what the base game is about. The full ladder looks like this:
- Gold Turkey: 1x, 2x, 4x for three, four or five
- Blue Bird (crowned): 0.8x, 1.4x, 3x
- Hat: 0.6x, 1x, 2x
- Cake and Bow: 0.4x, 0.6x, 1x
- A and K: 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.8x
- Q, J and 10: 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.6x
The WILD tile lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 and substitutes for all paying symbols, and it’s also the joint top payer at 4x for five. It can’t appear on the outer reels under its own steam, which keeps the middle three reels where the action is.
Mystery stacks are the other wrinkle. Every symbol in a stack reveals the same paying symbol or a wild, so a full stack landing well can turn a quiet spin into the biggest result the base game offers.
Turkeys, Tokens and Free Spins
The middle of the game belongs to three turkeys in red, white and blue, one per feature, each growing as its tokens arrive. Red, White and Blue Tokens can be revealed on top of paying symbols, no more than one of each colour per spin, and a token feeds the matching bird and may make it bigger.
Worth knowing: the turkeys’ sizes don’t change how likely their features are to trigger, so a big bird is theatre, not odds. Free spins can arrive with a single token’s feature attached, and one or more tokens of different colours award free spins with each token’s appropriate feature.
Free spins can also come at MAXI or MAJOR level, which sets the prize ladder’s starting rung. There are three features in play:
- White Feature: eggs may reveal Stars that fill prize levels
- Blue Feature: a random win multiplier on every spin, up to the Blue Turkey’s maximum
- Red Feature: free spins triggered with the Red Turkey’s feature attached
White Feature
Eggs on the reels may reveal Stars, and each Star fills a position under one of the prize levels on the ladder. Fill every position beneath a level and that level’s prize is won, the positions empty, and the level can be won again by refilling them.
The MEGA level is the one exception: once it’s paid, it doesn’t reset within the round. Everything else empties and refills for as long as the feature runs, which is where the round’s repeat potential comes from. When the feature ends, the ladder starts fresh next time.
Blue Feature
Each spin of the round carries a multiplier chosen at random between x1 and the Blue Turkey’s current maximum. That maximum grows as blue tokens arrive, so the bird’s size tracks the feature’s ceiling even if it doesn’t move the odds.
Two details give the round its shape. The final spin of the round always carries the maximum multiplier rather than a random one, and the multiplier drops back to x2 once the feature is over.
Red Feature
The red bird’s free spins carry the Red Feature, and that’s about all that can be said with certainty: the game announces it by banner, with a golden egg stack on the reels, but keeps its inner workings to itself. Treat it as the third door on the same corridor and expect eggs and prizes in some form.
The Prize Ladder
The ladder the eggs and stars feed is fixed in shape, and it’s a steep one. In multiples of the stake it runs:
- MEGA: 20,000x
- GRAND: 1,000x
- MAJOR: 20x
- MAXI: 10x
- MINOR: 5x
- MINI: 2.5x
Two rungs matter and four are pocket change, but the reset mechanic is what makes the ladder interesting. Because every level except MEGA empties and refills, a single White Feature round can pay the same rung more than once.
The overall ceiling for the game sits at 21,648x the bet, which the MEGA rung alone nearly accounts for. Everything above MAJOR is a long way from the rest of the ladder.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing Big Rich Turkeys is mostly a matter of feeding birds and waiting: the spins between features are quiet, and the reason anyone would pick it over a livelier stall is the chance to watch that ladder refill two or three times in one round. A fairground where the rides take a while to start.
The refill design is its best quality. Rungs that empty and pay again give a good White Feature round a second and third bite at the same prize, which ladder games almost never allow. The worst of it is what sits between the top and the floor: four rungs paying 2.5x to 20x mean most filled levels change very little.
This one suits patient players who like one distant prize lit up in neon and don’t mind a thin base game on the way to it. Anyone who wants regular mid-sized returns won’t find them at this stall. For the slow builders, the MEGA rung is the light at the top of the fair, and it’s worth the climb.
Big Rich Turkeys FAQs
-
How do the free spins features trigger in Big Rich Turkeys?
Free spins are triggered by tokens. Red, White and Blue Tokens can be revealed on top of paying symbols, with no more than one of each colour per spin, and one or more tokens of different colours award free spins with each token’s appropriate feature attached. -
What does the White Feature do in Big Rich Turkeys?
Eggs may reveal Stars that fill positions beneath the prize levels on the ladder. Filling all positions under a level wins that prize, empties the positions, and the level can be won again, except for the MEGA level, which only pays once per feature. -
What does the Blue Feature do in Big Rich Turkeys?
It attaches a multiplier to wins on every spin, picked at random between x1 and the Blue Turkey’s current maximum. The last spin always gets the maximum, and the multiplier returns to x2 once the feature ends. -
Do the turkeys’ sizes affect the odds in Big Rich Turkeys?
No. Tokens make the matching turkey bigger, but the sizes are purely cosmetic and are not related to each feature’s probability of triggering. -
What does the Mystery symbol do in Big Rich Turkeys?
Whole stacks can arrive at once, and every Mystery symbol in a stack reveals one and the same paying symbol or a WILD, so a well-placed stack can build the biggest results the base game offers. -
Can the MEGA prize be won more than once in a feature?
No. The MEGA level is the only rung that doesn’t reset once it has paid. Every other level empties and can be refilled and won again within the same feature round. -
What is the maximum win on Big Rich Turkeys?
The maximum win is 21,648x the bet. The MEGA rung of the prize ladder alone pays 20,000x. -
How many paylines does Big Rich Turkeys have?
The game has 25 win lines on a 5×3 grid, with all symbols paying left to right across adjacent reels. Stakes run from 0.10 to 50 per spin, and it’s made by Red Tiger.
