Christmas Pots of Gold Express Gold Blitz Slot Review
Santa’s little locomotive puffs along the top of the reels all game long, and that’s the honest picture of Christmas Pots of Gold Express Gold Blitz: a candy-cane village where something is always moving. This is Gameburger Studios running five overlapping systems on one grid, and the rare festive slot where the base game works harder than either bonus round.
It plays on a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways to win, at 96.50% RTP and high volatility, with stakes from 0.20 to 150 per spin. It sits in the same family as Fishin’ Christmas Pots of Gold and Mining Pots of Gold Express Gold Blitz. The train keeps its schedule whether you’re watching or not.
Base Game & Features
Wins run left to right from the first reel, with matching symbols on adjacent reels forming a way. Where several combinations land on one way, only the highest pays. The total payout is the sum of all way wins plus any Scatter win.
The Wild lands on reels 2 through 6 in the base game and substitutes for everything except the Scatter, Christmas Express, Cash and Collect symbols, paying nothing itself.
Collect Feature
Cash symbols appear on all reels in the base game, carrying values from 0.5x to 9x the bet. A Collect symbol on reel 1 or 6 paired with any landed Cash symbol collects them all, and each Collect symbol in view awards the full set. It’s a simple pairing that keeps the base game producing something even when the ways don’t connect.
Gold Blitz Respins
When Collect symbols land on reels 1 and 6, no Cash symbols land, and the Bonus Choice hasn’t triggered, one respin is awarded. Reels 1 and 6 lock while reels 2 to 5 respin with Cash symbols and blanks, and one or more Cash symbols are guaranteed.
Up to two further respins can be awarded at random. This one is base game only.
Rising Rewards Instant Win Jackpot
Tokens appear over paying symbols, and over blank positions during the Gold Blitz feature. Every token accumulated raises the Instant Win Jackpot by 0.1x to 0.5x the bet, and any accumulated token can trigger the jackpot, once per spin, in the base game, Free Spins or Gold Blitz.
The raised value carries across sessions until it’s won, then resets to its starting value. The trigger odds fall as the pot grows, and it can’t fire during a respin or the Christmas Express feature.
The jackpot ladder sits at four tiers, scaling with the bet:
- MEGA: 500x the bet
- MAJOR: 50x the bet
- MINOR: 12.5x the bet
- MINI: 5x the bet
Christmas Express
The Christmas Express symbol on reel 6, in the base game, Free Spins or Gold Blitz, triggers the feature. It awards five to 20 prizes in any mix of Cash prizes and Jackpots, with Cash values from 0.5x to 9x the bet, and every prize collected is awarded.
Each jackpot tier can be paid more than once in a single feature, which is where the real money in this one lives. It can’t trigger alongside a respin or an Instant Win Jackpot in the base game.
Christmas Pots of Gold Express Gold Blitz Bonus Features
Bonus Choice
Scatters land on reels 2 to 5 and pay anywhere. Three or more award a payout plus a choice of bonus round, with the richer trigger paying better on both counts:
- 3 Scatters: 1x the bet, and a choice of 8 Free Spins or 5 Gold Blitz spins
- 4 Scatters: 2x the bet, opening the door to 12 Free Spins or 7 Gold Blitz spins instead
Free Spins
The Free Spins round runs on Expanding Wilds, which appear on reels 2 to 5 and fill their entire reel whenever they’re part of a ways win, with wins paid after the expansion. They substitute for everything except the Scatter and the Christmas Express symbol.
Cash and Collect symbols don’t appear here at all, so the round is purely about the ways. Retriggers are generous: 2, 3 or 4 Scatters during the round award 5, 8 or 12 additional Free Spins respectively.
Gold Blitz
The Gold Blitz round strips the reels back to Collect, Cash and Christmas Express symbols only, with every other position blank. Each Collect symbol that lands builds the Accumulation Trail, and every three accumulated Collects raise the Cash symbol multiplier and add spins:
- 3 Collects: multiplier rises to 2x, plus 5 spins
- 6 Collects: multiplier rises to 3x, plus 4 spins
- 9 Collects: multiplier rises to 4x, plus 3 spins
- 12 Collects: multiplier rises to 5x, plus 2 spins
Up to 14 additional spins can be awarded by the trail, which resets at the start of each round. The multiplier applies to every Cash value collected on subsequent spins, so a fully loaded round pays considerably more than a short one.
Bonus Buy
Both rounds can be bought from the base game, at the same RTP as a natural trigger:
- 3 Scatter Bonus Buy: 100x bet, for 8 Free Spins or 5 Gold Blitz spins
- 4 Scatter Bonus Buy: 300x bet, for 12 Free Spins or 7 Gold Blitz spins
Win Booster and Bonus Recharge
The Win Booster adds an extra bet equal to 1x the base bet and doubles the chance of triggering the Bonus Choice, Christmas Express, Instant Win Jackpot, Collect Feature and respins in the base game. Payouts stay based on the base bet, and the booster doesn’t change any Cash, jackpot or token values.
Bonus Recharge appears when a Gold Blitz round finishes, offering to extend it at the displayed cost.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.6/10
You’d choose this one for the ride itself. Like the little locomotive trundling above the reels, it’s rarely still: Collect pairings land, tokens feed a pot that survives between sessions, and a respin rescues the spins where the Collects arrive with nothing to collect. The Bonus Choice is the best thing here, because it’s a real decision, and the jackpot ladder paying more than once inside one Christmas Express rewards a long session rather than a lucky one.
Between those highlights, the payouts are thin. Cash values cap at 9x the bet, so the machinery filling the quiet stretches pays out in small change, and a lot rides on features that are gone in minutes.
It’s one for players who like plenty happening and can sit through thin patches to reach the good rounds; anyone wanting steady returns will find the middle of this game pretty empty. For festive-slot regulars, though, the village is warm and the train is well worth boarding.
