Base Game & Features
Gears of Eternia Dream Drop is a 6-reel Video Slot featuring 117,649 ways to win, and playable from £0.10 per spin, up to a max bet size of £160 per spin.
Wins are calculated when 3-6 matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel, with the highest-paying symbol producing wins of up to 15x your bet for a 6-line winning sequence.
This game has a theoretical RTP of 94%, a Medium Volatility rating, and a max win cap of 6,000x your bet. There is also a lower RTP module of 85.98% specifically for the German market.
Each winning sequence is removed from the reels, causing new symbols to cascade from above. There is also an additional Sliding Reel above the main reel set that holds up to 4 symbols from the paytable.
Wilds
Golden Wilds appear on all reels, substituting for all other symbols except Scatters. The Wild Multiplier will increase with each Wild that hits, up to a maximum of x5.
Mystery Symbols
High or Low-paying symbols may appear as Mystery symbols on the reels, stacked between 1-4 in height. Mystery symbols will upgrade to a new symbol with every cascade until they contribute towards a winning combination.
Bomb Symbols
Landing a Bomb symbol during gameplay will grant players a second chance. If there are no more wins, but a Bomb symbol is present on the Sliding Reel, all symbols are removed before a new cascade (except Scatters, Wilds, and Mystery symbols).
Dream Drop Jackpot
Landing 6 DD symbols ( one on each reel) triggers the Dream Drop Jackpot round. During this time, 1 of 5 Jackpot Prizes (Mini, Midi, Maxi, Major, or Mega) can be won.
Each spin will drop either DD symbols or Blanks into each reel. The first reel to be filled with DD symbols will award its respective Jackpot Prize.
Nitro Spins
Enabling Nitro Spins for an additional 50% of your current bet will award:
- An increased chance of landing Mystery symbols
- An increased chance of triggering Free Spins
- An increased chance of landing Coins on all reels
Alternatively, you can use your accumulated Fortune Coins towards this option for a total cost of 4 Coins per spin.
Fortune Coins
Fortune Coins land with certain High or Low-paying symbols and are collected when they appear. Fortune Coins can be used to purchase Nitro Spins and Free Spins within any Four Leaf Gaming title.
Free Spins
Landing 3 Scatters in the base game triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins. An additional +5 Free Spins are awarded for each Scatter that lands after the third. During Free Spins, all Mystery symbols still present on the reels at the end of a spin will remain there as regular symbols for the next spin.
Pros and Cons of Gears of Eternia Dream Drop
Pros:
- Good Base Game Features
- Recognisable Megaways mechanic
- Cool Steampunk aesthetic
- Great Potential
Cons:
- Lower RTP for Jackpot contribution may deter some
Conclusion
Gears of Eternia Dream Drop gives players another fresh look at the enticing Dream Drop series once more, and to accompany it comes a game that can hold its own and will undoubtedly prove popular amongst those with an affinity for the Steampunk aesthetic displayed here.
Gears of Eternia Dream Drop has plenty in the way of features, with Wilds, Mystery and Bomb Symbols to make it interesting while you await the main event, Free Spins, or the potentially life-altering (but probably Rapid Jackpot) Dream Drop win.
However, despite its numerous features and the thrill of potentially life-changing jackpots, the game might not appeal to everyone. The lower RTP of 94%, and a further reduced 85.98% for the German market, could deter some players who are conscious of return rates. These RTP figures reflect the game’s structure, where a portion of the returns is funnelled into the jackpot pool, thereby reducing the overall payout percentage during regular play.
In summary, while Gears of Eternia Dream Drop stands out with excellent proven mechanics and substantial win potential, its lower RTP might make some players think twice before diving in, and some may understandably dive in head first to what is undoubtedly a very appealing slot.
