Grizzly Stampede Slot Review
The grizzly is what everything else in the North American backcountry gets out of the way for, and ELK Studios have built a whole valley around that pecking order. Wolves, eagles, bison and mountain lions all take their turn on the reels of Grizzly Stampede, with a carved totem standing watch beside the grid.
It runs on a 5×4 grid with 1,024 ways to win, an RTP of 96% in its standard configuration, and high volatility rated 8/10. Operators can also run a reduced 87% setting. Stakes go from 0.20 to 100 a spin, and the top prize is 50,000x. The X-iter buy menu bolted to the side of it is familiar ELK furniture, and anyone who’s spent time with Black River Gold will know exactly what it’s for.
The studio’s wildlife streak goes back to Dam Beavers, and Katmandu Gold covered the mountain country. That 50,000x is the part that’s new: a ceiling ELK haven’t often let out of the woods.
Base Game & Features
Grizzly Stampede plays across five reels and four rows, with 1,024 ways to win paying left to right from reel one. Stakes run from 0.20 to 100 per spin.

Symbols and Payouts
Values below are shown as a multiple of the total bet for a five-of-a-kind. The high value animals run as follows:
- Raging Grizzly: 30x
- Brown Bear: 20x
- Bison: 7x
- Mountain Lion: 6x
- Eagle: 5x
- Wolf: 4x
The card royals sit well below that, with A paying 2x, K paying 1.4x, Q paying 1.2x, J paying 1x and 10 paying 0.8x for five in a row.
Multiplier Wilds
Wilds substitute for everything except the Bonus, Super Bonus and Stampede symbols. When a Wild contributes to a win it reveals a multiplier of x2, x3 or x5.
Where several Wilds land in the same win, those multipliers multiply together rather than add, so the total is the product of every contributing Wild. In Bonus mode, a Wild that contributes to a win always reveals a multiplier.
The Stampede Feature
Two Stampede symbols landing on the same row connect with each other, and every paying symbol caught between them converts into a Grizzly symbol.
The Super Stampede version does that same job and scatters additional Grizzly or golden Grizzly symbols across the reels on top. In Bonus mode, Stampede converts symbols into golden Grizzly on any reel that hasn’t expanded yet, and into standard Grizzly symbols everywhere else.
The Totem Feature
A single Stampede symbol on a row has nothing to connect to, so at the end of the spin its energy transfers to the totem pole instead. That charge is kept between game rounds rather than reset.
The Totem feature can trigger on any spin, and every round carries the same probability of it happening. When it does, the pole empties and releases the Grizzly Spirit, which scatters Stampede symbols onto the reels before they come to a stop.

Grizzly Stampede Free Spins
Three or more Bonus symbols in the base game open the Bonus game. Three symbols award six Bonus spins, four award nine, and five award 12.

The Bonus Game
Each reel carries its own token meter in Bonus mode, and golden Grizzly symbols landing on a reel add tokens to that meter.
Three tokens on reels one, two, four or five awards an extra Bonus spin, converts that reel’s high value symbol to Grizzly for the rest of the round, and expands the reel from four rows to six. Reel three works to a different rule: five tokens turns every Grizzly symbol into a Raging Grizzly and expands that reel too.
With reels expanded, the grid climbs from 1,024 ways to as many as 7,776 ways to win. Landing two or more Bonus symbols mid-round retriggers the game: two adds three spins, three adds six, four adds nine and five adds 12.

The Super Bonus Game
The Super Bonus symbol only appears on reel five in the base game. Land it alongside at least two Bonus symbols and the Super Bonus game triggers instead.
Before the first spin, the Super Bonus symbol activates and awards a number of tokens. Each one either fills a golden Grizzly token position on one of the reels or adds an extra Bonus spin, so the round starts with the meters already part-filled.

X-iter Bonus Buy
X-iter is ELK’s buy system, and every mode is purchasable from the base game only. There are five to choose from:
- Super Bonus: 250x bet, guaranteed Super Bonus trigger
- Bonus: 100x bet, guaranteed Bonus trigger
- Grizzly Stampede: 25x bet, guaranteed Totem trigger releasing the Grizzly Spirit
- Mega Hunt: 10x bet, more than 15x the chance of triggering the Bonus game
- Bonus Hunt: 3x bet, more than 4x the chance of triggering the Bonus game
The cheapest X-iter purchase costs 0.60 and the most expensive 25,000, with an RTP of 96.0% across all five modes. Buying the Grizzly Spirit mode disconnects the totem pole for its duration: the pole is neither charged nor emptied while that mode runs.

Our Honest Verdict
ELK have built the whole round around those token meters, and that’s where Grizzly Stampede either works or it doesn’t. Six spins isn’t long to fill five of them, and a bonus that finishes with reel three still at four rows feels like the wrong half of the game. Open two or three reels and the Wild multipliers start compounding into something worth watching.
The base game is quieter than the bonus suggests, though the totem pole gives every spin somewhere to go: even a flat one with a lone Stampede symbol on it is charging something for later.
The 50,000x is real, but it wants every reel expanded with a stack of Wild multipliers on top, so treat it as the outer edge rather than the target. This one’s for high volatility chasers and anyone who likes a meter to track. Casual players after steady returns will find the flat stretches long.
Fill the meters and it stampedes. Fall short and you’re watching bears amble.
