Jelly Belly Megaways Slot Review
Relive your childhood years and stuff your face with as much jelly as you can possibly stomach in Netent’s latest release, Jelly Belly Megaways!
Welcome to the wobbly world of Jelly Belly, a place where you can live out your childhood fantasies of devouring as much jelly as you want without getting a telling-off from Mum or Dad…or a gigantic stomach ache.
Jelly Belly Megaways is another slot that puts Big Time Gaming’s Megaways mechanic to good use. Enter the Free Spins round by forming 3 or more consecutive Cascades in a row, landing yourselves up to 15 Free Spins, or simply jump straight into the action using the Bonus Buy feature, where applicable.
Will the residents of Jelly Belly wobble in big wins of up to 20,000x? Let’s play on and find out!
Jelly Belly Megaways Base Game and Features
Jelly Belly Megaways is a 6-reel Video Slot with up to 117,649 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbol types land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
Jelly Belly Megaways has a minimum bet of £0.10 per and a maximum bet of £4 per spin, with a small selection of betting options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.08% and a max win cap of 20,000x.
High-paying symbols fall to Red, Pink, Purple, Green, and Blue Jelly Monsters. Low-paying symbols fall to Yellow Stars, Pink Spades, Purple Hearts, Green Diamonds, and Blue Clubs. Wilds appear on the first 5 reels, substituting for all High and Low-paying symbols. Wilds form the highest-paying combination on a single win line.
Each time a win forms on the reels, all winning symbols will be removed and new symbols will drop down from above via a Cascade Feature. This continues until no more wins are present.
Jelly Belly Megaways Free Spins
Triggering the Free Spins round is done by landing 3 or more consecutive Cascades in the base game. 3, 4, 5, 6, or 6+ Cascades will award 3, 5, 8, 10, and 15 Free Spins respectively.
During Free Spins, landing 3 or more consecutive Cascades in a row will activate an Increasing Multiplier. 3, 4, 5, 6, or 6+ Cascades in a row will award a x2, x3, x5, x15, or x20 Multiplier that is applied to the total win amount for that spin, up to a maximum of x50. The Increasing Multiplier does however reset between Free Spins.
Jelly Belly Megaways Bonus Buy
Those outside the UK will benefit from a Bonus Buy option. Netent has granted players access to the Free Spins round for a total cost of 20x your bet. Free Spins is guaranteed to trigger with a minimum of 3 consecutive Cascades.
Jelly Belly Megaways: Our Verdict
If there’s one mechanic that stands out above all else, it’s Big Time Gaming’s Megaways mechanic and the idea of activating up to 117,649 ways to win in a single spin. Since the Megaways mechanic came to light, we’ve seen our fair share of slots make use of it, but has Netent pulled it off in Jelly Belly?
Jelly Belly Megaways is a wobbly wonderland bursting with pastel colours and adorable-looking Jelly symbols. On the outside, Jelly Belly has great appeal, but it felt like something was missing in terms of gameplay.
It’s a good thing really that Netent chose consecutive wins as the only way to trigger Free Spins, considering there’s nothing else in terms of features to keep your mind occupied in the base game. Most Providers tend to recycle the usual Mystery symbols feature in a Megaways slot, and although we sometimes complain about this, it’s a feature we could have really done with in Jelly Belly.
Triggering the Free Spins round is no easy task, although it may seem fairly straight-forward. Three consecutive wins award 3 Free Spins, but reaching anything more than this is a battle in itself.
It seems that triggering Free Spins is only half the battle, unfortunately. During Free Spins, you will need to land further consecutive wins in order to activate an Increasing Multiplier….that just so happens to reset between spins!
All in all, Jelly Belly is a good offering to the ever-expanding list of Megaways slots, but it’s by no means a standout title.
