Leprechaun’s Loot Slot Review
A leprechaun in a green top hat perches on the corner of the reel frame, legs dangling, flicking sparkles over a grid set in an Irish forest glade, with toadstools sprouting at the base of its bamboo and ivy frame. Stakelogic have built Leprechaun’s Loot so that the base game barely pays: it’s a 5×3, high volatility game running at 96.01% RTP, and more than half that return sits in a single bonus round.
Charm was never going to be the selling point in a theme this well worn, and the game doesn’t try to win that way. The work is done by the modifiers inside the bonus grid, and from Candy Wild Bonanza Hold & Spin to Giant’s Fortune Megaways and Devil’s Trap, collect-and-hold is familiar ground for the studio. Here it’s the whole game, and the trip down the rainbow has to earn the wait.
Base Game and the Collect Feature
A Wild Symbol can land on reels two to five and substitutes for all paying symbols. That’s its entire job, and it’s a useful one, because the rest of the base game has a second layer running alongside the regular wins.
Rainbow Symbols can appear on any of the five reels, each carrying a credit value. They pay nothing on their own. The full ladder of values they can display:
- x0.2
- x0.4
- x0.5
- x0.8
- x1
- x1.5
- x2
- x2.5
- x3
- x4
- x5
- x6
- x8
- x10
- x15
- x20
- x25
- x50
Those values are only collected when a Collect Symbol lands on reel five during the same spin, sweeping up the credit values of every Rainbow in view. The same symbol can show up mid-respin too.
The Collect Feature carries 23.87% of the game’s total return on its own, which tells you how much of the base game’s rhythm depends on that fifth reel cooperating. It also pays out spin by spin, where the Hold ‘N’ Win round banks everything for one settling-up at the end. The two features don’t just differ in what they do, they differ in when the money arrives.
Lucky Respin
Two Bonus Symbols landing in a single spin trigger the Lucky Respin. The remaining eligible reel performs a single respin while every other reel locks in place, giving the third Bonus Symbol a chance to land. Any winning combinations formed on the respin are paid out as normal.
Land that third symbol and the Hold ‘N’ Win Bonus begins. Miss it and the feature simply ends, with play returning to the base game. It’s a short, sharp bridge, and it means two Bonus Symbols are never a dead spin.
The Collect Symbol can also land on that respin, so a near-miss can still pay through the Rainbows already on the board.
Hold ‘N’ Win Bonus
The main event. Three initial spins are awarded, and only four symbol types can land:
- Blank symbols
- Rainbow symbols
- Golden Rainbow symbols
- Modifier symbols (Double, Expand, Boost)
Every time a Rainbow or Modifier lands, the spin counter resets to three. The round only ends when three consecutive spins pass with nothing new, which is the classic hold-and-win heartbeat with room to run. A single well-timed symbol can keep a round alive indefinitely.
The twist is the grid. The bonus plays out on a 5×5 layout, but only the lower 5×3 section is active and payable at the start. Rows unlock from there, and the Hold ‘N’ Win round carries 50.99% of the game’s total return, more than half the RTP sitting in one feature.
All Rainbows, Golden ones included, lock in place for the whole round. Modifiers don’t lock; they do their job and vanish, or feed their meter. There are three, and each changes the arithmetic.
Boost and the Golden Rainbow
A Boost Symbol transforms one random Rainbow into a Golden Rainbow. From then on, the Golden Rainbow transfers its value to a random Rainbow on the grid on every spin, with transfers adding to the target’s total rather than replacing it.
This is a persistent effect for the rest of the round, and Golden Rainbows can transfer to each other, stacking values as the spins accumulate. A Golden Rainbow created early is worth far more than the value printed on it.
Expand
Expand Symbols unlock the rows above the starting 5×3. The first takes the grid to 5×4, the second to the full 5×5, with a maximum of two expansions per round. Once unlocked, a row stays active to the end.
Expand is always evaluated first. If an Expand lands and opens a row, any symbols already sitting on that newly unlocked row are activated and evaluated in the same spin, so a late expansion can pay twice over.
Double
Double Symbols feed a meter, one charge apiece. At three charges, the values of every Rainbow on the grid are doubled and the meter resets to zero, so the doubling can fire multiple times within a single round.
Stack that with a Golden Rainbow or two and an expanded grid, and the same board can be worth several times its face value by the final spin. That compounding is the game’s whole appeal.
Super Stake
Super Stake is an optional mode that raises the chances of hitting wins, and it stays in play for as long as it’s switched on. Turbo Spin, auto spin limits and the usual settings are all present and off by default, so the base experience stays as traditional as the theme suggests.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.6/10
Playing Leprechaun’s Loot is a long walk through a very pretty glade with your hands in your pockets. That’s the honest shape of it: you sit through the base game, enjoy the toadstools, and come for the one round where the game actually opens its purse.
The strength is that the bonus round is worth the wait in a way most hold-and-win games aren’t, because the modifiers keep rewriting the board while you’re still spinning rather than just topping it up. The weakness is the base game, which offers little between bonus rounds beyond the Collect Symbol’s payouts.
This suits players who like one big feature and don’t mind earning it, and the storybook art makes the earning easier than it would otherwise be. Steady, spin-by-spin action isn’t what this one delivers. If the rainbow’s the destination rather than the scenery, the glade is a pleasant enough place to wait.

Each Double Symbol adds one charge to a meter. When the meter reaches three charges, the values of all Rainbow symbols on the grid are doubled and the meter resets, so the doubling can happen several times in one round. -
What does the Boost Symbol do in the bonus round?
