Lucky Clucks 3: Barnyard Blastoff Slot Review
A flying saucer has buried itself in the roof of a barn, a goggle-wearing cow waits beside it for lift-off, and a huge cratered moon hangs low over the hills. Lucky Clucks 3: Barnyard Blastoff takes the farmyard series somewhere it has never been: orbit. It’s a genuinely odd picture, and the game commits to it completely.
Crazy Tooth Studio runs it on a 5×3 grid with 243 ways, 96.28% RTP and high volatility, with stakes from 0.15 to 60.00. It sits between Lucky Clucks 2: Rooster Respins, which refined familiar mechanics rather than inventing new ones in 2024, and Lucky Clucks 4: A Murder Most Fowl.
Base Game & Features
The base game uses Any Adjacent Pays. Three or more matching symbols on a way, on adjacent reels, form a winning combination, and winning symbols can be anywhere on the reels rather than lined up from the left. Only the highest win per way is paid.
Way wins are multiplied by the bet multiplier of the winning game, as are credit awards. That bet multiplier equals the number of credits played divided by 0.15, so a 0.30 spin carries a multiplier of 2 and the 60.00 maximum works out to 400. Payout tables display the credits won for each combination at the current bet multiplier, which means every listed credit figure scales with your stake.
The wild substitutes for all paying symbols but not for scatters. The scatter appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 only, and three of them trigger the bonus round. Beyond those, the reels carry a set of passive symbols that don’t pay at all:
- Chicken – base game only, does not pay
- Corn – base game only, reel 3 only, does not pay
- Milk – base game only, reel 3 only, does not pay
- Sun – base game only, does not pay
- Rooster – base game only, does not pay
Those passive symbols aren’t decoration. The chicken and the rooster each have a job to do in the BIG BuildUp Feature, and the corn and milk sitting on reel 3 mark the positions where the feature’s business tends to happen. The scatter’s restriction to three reels is also what keeps the bonus from triggering constantly.
Matching symbols must be next to each other on a way for a combination to count, and payouts depend on the bet multiplier of the spin that produced them. In practice that means the same three-symbol line pays twice as much at 0.30 as it does at 0.15, and 400 times as much at the top stake.
BIG BuildUp Feature
The BIG BuildUp Feature can trigger randomly on any spin. It’s the series’ signature mechanic, and it’s a layered thing: several animals each do a different job, and a single trigger can set all of them off at once.
Chickens may lay eggs revealing feature prizes:
- The Mother Hen Prize
- Wild Symbols, each of which adds a symbol position to its reel
- Multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x
The cow may award one or more extra rows, growing the reels in height by one symbol position per row. The rooster may cause the reels to respin one or more times, during which any Wilds added by the chickens persist and the reels keep their increased height, extra rows included.
A full run of the feature plays out in stages. First the eggs reveal their prizes and the wilds drop in, each one widening its reel. Then the cow’s rows stack on top, if she shows up. Then the rooster’s respins land, re-evaluating the board at its new, larger size with every wild still in place.
One or more chickens can take part in the same trigger, so several eggs can open on a single spin, and each chicken’s banner carries its own value. A single wild adds one position to its reel, a single extra row adds a position to every reel at once, and the two stack: a trigger with both can leave the board several rows taller than it started.
The multiplier rule has a fork in it. Multipliers awarded alongside the Mother Hen Prize multiply that prize only. Multipliers awarded without it multiply all ways wins evaluated during the feature. Credit wins land immediately; symbol wins are paid once every feature prize has been revealed and at the end of each respin.
The feature finishes when all prizes are revealed, the reels have finished growing and all respins are done. Feature wins are added to regular wins, and the bet multiplier used is the one from the triggering spin.
Lucky Clucks 3: Barnyard Blastoff Bonus
Three scatter symbols trigger the Barnyard Blastoff Bonus. It’s the round the title points at, and it’s built around growth rather than a one-off set piece. Each bonus awards a minimum of five bonus spins, and the round works like this:
- Every spin, a number of symbols on the reels are replaced with Bonus Wilds
- All reels may grow by one symbol position
- Grown reel height persists for the rest of the bonus, and later growth stacks on top of it
- A Rocket symbol may land on reel 3 and adds an additional bonus spin
- The bonus can retrigger
The Bonus Wild substitutes for all paying symbols and exists only inside the bonus. The Rocket is passive and doesn’t pay; its whole job is the extra spin. The round ends after the final bonus spin resolves.
The scatter only appears in the base game, so retriggers inside the round work through the bonus’s own symbols rather than the base game scatter. The Rocket’s home on reel 3 means the extra-spin supply runs through a single reel, and the bonus bet multiplier is fixed at the one from the triggering spin.
Because every spin drops fresh Bonus Wilds onto a board that only ever gets bigger, the round is designed to build towards its back end. Five spins on a standard 5×3 board is modest; five spins where the board has grown twice, with wilds replacing symbols every spin and a Rocket extending the count, is where the money is. The stated win-up-to values are achieved from the cumulative winnings of an entire bonus session, not from a single spin.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Lucky Clucks 3 is at its best when the farm is busy. The BIG BuildUp Feature is the reason to sit down at it: chickens, cow and rooster each firing in the same trigger, wilds stacking onto growing reels while multipliers argue over what they’re allowed to multiply, is a lot of moving parts for a base game, and the good rounds genuinely build something.
The bonus round is the quieter half. Five guaranteed spins with growth that only pays off if the round runs long enough means the Rocket symbol carries more of the outcome than a passive symbol probably should. High volatility with a 27.45% hit rate does the rest: this is a game of gaps between events.
For players who like a board that changes shape mid-session and a series that keeps its personality intact, this is an easy yes. The cow wanted to go to space; on this evidence, it got there.
