Veni Vidi Richy: Hold & Win Slot Review
Most hold-and-win games make you watch a single grid fill up and call that suspense; Veni Vidi Richy: Hold & Win runs two of them at once and makes the format feel crowded in a way that mostly works. The doubled playfield is the whole reason to be here, more so than the gilt-soaked Rome wrapped around it. Marble, spotlights and a scrolled gold frame do the decorating, but two 5×3 grids each carrying their own jackpot ladder is what the game actually sells.
From Elysium Studios, it’s a 5×3 base game with a bonus triggered by special symbols, multiplier orbs up to x50, and a four-tier jackpot ladder capped by a Grand worth 1,000x the stake. It returns 94.00% or 92.00%, depending on which version the casino runs.
Base Game & Features
The base game runs on a 5×3 grid set inside that scrolled gold frame, with the amphitheatre stretching away behind it and a coffered dome washed pale above. A stack of gilded tablets down the right-hand side carries the jackpot meters, flanked by red, purple, blue and green jewels and a laurel-wreathed logo. It’s a busy frame, but the reels stay readable.
Coins and rings carrying cash values land and lock in place with a gold glow, alongside the coloured medallions that feed the jackpot tiers. Three painted champions keep watch down the left edge: a bare-chested brawler with hoop earrings, a grey-bearded warrior in a plumed helm, and a woman in a purple-and-green headdress. A wild also appears across the reels, though what it substitutes for isn’t spelled out.
The jackpot ladder sits permanently in view on those gilded tablets, and every value on it is quoted as a multiple of stake:
- Grand – 1,000x the stake
- Major – 100x the stake
- Minor – 30x the stake
- Mini – value not displayed
The Mini sits at the bottom unpriced, shown as an icon only. Four steps is a standard sort of ladder for the format, and the Grand at 1,000x is the number that matters. It’s a modest ceiling for a game this decorated.
The game doesn’t state a maximum win, so the 1,000x Grand jackpot figure on the ladder shouldn’t be read as a payout cap. Multiplier values show up on reel positions during play, with x8 and x12 both visible on the reels, and win amounts are paid below the reels as the round builds.
The bet range isn’t stated, so check the stake menu at your casino before committing to a session.
Veni Vidi Richy: Hold & Win Bonus Features
The Bonus Round
One or more special symbols landing in the base game set the bonus off. Once it’s underway, the hold-and-win loop takes over: value-carrying coins lock where they fall, and the round keeps going while new coins keep arriving to extend it. A spin counter ticks down with every turn that fails to add to the collection, and each fresh coin that lands resets the pressure the other way.
Multiplier orbs feature in the bonus, and the values attached to them are worth knowing in advance:
- x12
- x25
- x30
- x50
The Mini, Minor, Major and Grand medallions also appear as part of the bonus, so the same round can feed the ladder as well as the coin pot. One round, two routes to a payout. The x50 orb is the one that turns a modest collection into something worth the wait.
Dual Reels
This is the game’s distinguishing idea. The playfield doubles into two parallel 5×3 grids, each with its own jackpot ladder running alongside it. Double the reels, double the rewards is the promise, and in practice it means twice as many positions for coins to lock into during the bonus.
Whether the doubled real estate genuinely doubles the payout potential is the question the rest of this format hinges on. What’s certain is that it changes the rhythm: more landing spots means more near-misses, and more room for a ladder climb on either grid while the other one plays out its own countdown.
Re-Spin Plus
Re-Spin Plus does what the name suggests: more spins for even bigger wins. In a hold-and-win format the re-spin count is everything, since each additional spin is another chance for a locking coin to land and reset the tension. An upgraded re-spin count is the difference between a round that fizzles and one that builds.
On a dual playfield the effect compounds. With two grids running their own collections, extra spins give both of them more time to fill, and a coin arriving late on the second grid can rescue a round that looked finished on the first.
Double Power
Double Power is the fourth string, pitched as a way to supercharge wins. Paired with the multiplier orbs, it points at the same destination from a different angle: taking an ordinary coin collection and multiplying it into something the ladder would be proud of.
The two modifiers share a job, which is boosting what the core round already pays rather than adding a separate game of their own. How each is triggered isn’t detailed, so the short version is that they arrive as enhancements to the bonus rather than features you chase independently.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a game about waiting, and it’s honest about that: you sit through a slow base game for a bonus round that fills a marble arena with locked coins. The reason to choose it over any other hold-and-win title is that there are two collections building at once, so the waiting never quite goes dead.
The multiplier orbs are the best thing here. A x50 on a grid that’s filling up well turns an ordinary round into a serious payout, and the orb can arrive on either grid, which keeps both halves of the playfield worth watching. The ladder at the top is the letdown: a 1,000x Grand is thin for a format that lives on its top tier, and the game won’t say what the wild covers or how its boosters are earned.
It suits players who like a long, patient build with something happening on both sides of the screen, and it will leave anyone chasing a life-changing top prize in the cold. For the rest, Rome puts on a decent show while the coins stack up.
