Wild Elements Slot Review
The grid floats in a sky of molten cloud, crimson and burnt orange, lit from below by amber flares that glow like embers behind the haze. Few slots have ever looked this expensive. Red Tiger spends that money on a game that moves slowly, and the backdrop of Dragon’s Fire Megaways and Pirates Plenty is the busy backdrop it never has.
Every symbol is super sized at 1×3, which changes how a 6×5 grid with 25 win lines feels to play. It runs at 96.2% RTP with a calculated 5,142x maximum multiplier, and stakes run from 0.10 to 50 per spin. Few games have tried tall symbols and an element-picking bonus round together, and the pairing holds up.
How the Base Game Pays
All symbols pay from left to right on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel, across 25 numbered win lines. Because every symbol stands three rows tall, each reel carries only a handful of distinct symbols, and a full screen of premium element symbols is where the bigger base wins live. The hit rate sits at 20.34%, so roughly one spin in five returns something.
There are four premium element symbols and four regular ones, each paying for three or more matching symbols on a line, up to seven of a kind. The paytable shows pays only up to five of a kind for the green and blue regular elements. The values below are multiples of the line bet.
- Premium Element (fire, red circle): 3 pays 0.5x, 4 pays 1x, 5 pays 2x, 6 pays 5x, 7 pays 10x
- Premium Element (green swirl): 3 pays 0.4x, 4 pays 0.8x, 5 pays 1.6x, 6 pays 4x, 7 pays 8x
- Premium Element (blue swirl): 3 pays 0.3x, 4 pays 0.6x, 5 pays 1.2x, 6 pays 3x, 7 pays 6x
- Premium Element (purple swirl): 3 pays 0.2x, 4 pays 0.4x, 5 pays 0.8x, 6 pays 2x, 7 pays 4x
- Regular Element (orange, sun): 3 pays 0.1x, 4 pays 0.2x, 5 pays 0.4x, 6 pays 1x, 7 pays 2x
- Regular Element (purple, club): 3 pays 0.1x, 4 pays 0.2x, 5 pays 0.4x, 6 pays 0.8x, 7 pays 1.6x
- Regular Element (green): 3 pays 0.1x, 4 pays 0.2x, 5 pays 0.4x
- Regular Element (blue): 3 pays 0.1x, 4 pays 0.2x, 5 pays 0.4x
The Wild Element is the wild, substituting for paying symbols and appearing as a WILD banner across its reels. Each element type has one, and during Mystic Spins they take on a much bigger role, which the bonus section covers below.
Two more symbols sit outside the paytable entirely. The Mystic Spins symbol can land on any reel, and three of them on screen at once start the bonus round. The FORTUNE symbol appears only inside that round, where it summons the Fortune Goddess. Neither pays anything on its own.
Mystic Spins and the Element System
The bonus round is one connected system rather than a loose pile of features, and each piece feeds the next. Here’s what does what.
- Three Mystic Spins symbols on screen: starts the round with a random number of free spins
- Element choice at the start of the round: decides which Wild Element and which premium symbol can appear
- Wild Element landing in full view, covering two reels: converts all regular symbols of that element type into wilds
- FORTUNE symbol landing during the round: awards up to five extra spins or a multiplier of up to 3x
Mystic Spins
Three Mystic Spins symbols anywhere on screen trigger a random number of free spins. There’s no published figure for that random count, and no way to influence it. Before the round begins, you choose your element, and that choice shapes everything that follows.
During the bonus round, only three kinds of symbol can land: the Wild Element of your chosen type, the premium symbol of that same element, and any of the regular symbols. The choice is a genuine decision rather than decoration, because it decides which premium symbol fills the reels alongside the wilds.
Picking fire means the red circle premium is the only premium in play, at up to 10x for a seven-of-a-kind. Picking one of the lower-paying elements swaps in a cheaper premium but the same wild behaviour. Either way, the round plays as a hunt for full-view wilds stacked on top of your chosen symbol.
Possessive Wilds
The 1×3 symbol format does its heaviest lifting in this mechanic. A chosen Wild Element arriving in full view spans two entire reels, and everything regular of that element type on screen becomes a wild at that moment. With every symbol three rows tall, one landing converts a lot of the grid at once, and the more wilds already out there, the harder the swap hits.
Because the conversion targets one element type, the element you chose at the start also decides how much material the swap has to work with. It’s the tightest coupling in the game: one decision at the door shapes the biggest moment inside.
Sphere of Fortune
Landing a FORTUNE symbol on any spin during the round brings out the Fortune Goddess with one of two awards: up to five additional Mystic Spins, or a win multiplier of up to 3x applied to all remaining spins.
That’s also the round’s only retrigger path. Extra spins extend the window in which Possessive Wilds can land, while the multiplier raises the ceiling on whatever the wilds have already built. Because the multiplier applies only to spins remaining at the moment the FORTUNE symbol lands, an early appearance covers more of the round than a late one. Neither outcome is guaranteed, and the “up to” wording means the low ends of both ranges are live possibilities.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.2/10
This is a waiting game with a beautiful room to wait in. Four spins in five return nothing, so you sit in that molten sky watching tall symbols drift past, and the reason to be here is the one moment the whole grid turns wild in your chosen element. That moment is worth the wait more often than it has any right to be.
The strength is that Possessive Wilds isn’t a lucky dip: the element you pick at the door decides how much the swap can convert, so the biggest win in the game is something you helped build. The weakness is the base game, which pays a maximum of 10x for a seven-of-a-kind and gives you nothing much to do between bonuses.
It’s a good fit for anyone who likes one deep bonus round and doesn’t need constant action to stay interested. Anyone after frequent small wins or a busy base game will find the embers here take a long time to catch. For patient players, though, the fire is real when it finally lights.
