Bloodthirst Slot Review 2024

At the stroke of midnight, Demons of the night come out to play in Hacksaw Gaming’s latest release, Bloodthirst!

No matter what your age, we’ve all imagined demons lurking in the shadows after dark when you’re heading to your car or walking home from the shop. Kind of like when you dangle your foot out of the covers in the night but quickly pull it back in after the thought of some demonic creature ripping you out of your bed.

Hacksaw Gaming are embracing these fears in their latest slot Bloodthirst, revealing Hacksaw’s darker imagination once again. There are 2 sides to Hacksaw Gaming, the first is cute and cuddly as seen in titles like Frank’s Farm and Pug Life, and the other is dark and terrifying portrayed in games like Hand of Anubis and Rotten.

For those of us who love the thrill of a dark Hacksaw Gaming title, will Bloodthirst live up to expectations? Let’s play on and find out!

Monster Reels

During the base game, whenever 4 High-Paying symbols of the same kind land stacked on a reel, they will expand and transform into a Monster Reel after all wins are paid.

Each of the 4 Monster Reels will reveal a character from 1 of the 4 High-Paying symbols, awarding an Extra Prize after expansion. These individual Prizes are based on your current bet level and are separated from regular win lines.

  • Ghoul Monster Reel – Awards 5x your current bet.
  • Vampire Monster Reel – Awards 10x your current bet.
  • Werewolf Monster Reel – Awards 15x your current bet.
  • Demon Monster Reel – Awards 20x your current bet.

If 5 of the same Monster Reels land at the same time, they will transform into a Monster Takeover, covering all 5 reels. Once active, instead of paying their regular Extra Prizes, they will award a Mega Prize as follows.

  • Ghoul Monster Reel – Awards 100x your current bet.
  • Vampire Monster Reel – Awards 250x your current bet.
  • Werewolf Monster Reel – Awards 1,000x your current bet.
  • Demon Monster Reel – Awards 2,500x your current bet.

Bloodthirst Free Spins

Bloodthirst Free Spins

Bloodthirst has been given the Hacksaw Gaming special treatment, with 2 exciting Bonus rounds for you to enjoy. More on these below!

Bloodthirst Bonus

Landing 3 FS Scatters across the reels triggers the Bloodthirst Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.

During Bloodthirst Free Spins, the odds of triggering expanding Monster Reels is greater than in the base game.

Immortals Bonus

Landing 4 FS Scatters across the reels triggers the Immortals Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.

At the start of the round, 1 of the 4 High-Paying symbols will be chosen at random as the main symbol for the Bonus feature. The chosen symbol is the only symbol that is able to expand into a Monster Reel during this time.

Whenever a Monster Reel of the chosen symbol expands on a reel, a special Indicator will activate above the corresponding reel for the duration of the Immortals Free Spins round. At the end of Free Spins, Monster Reels will expand on all reels with an active Indicator.

Landing an Upgrade Scatter will automatically upgrade the chosen High-Paying symbol to the next highest paying in the paytable, if possible. The newly selected High-Paying symbol will replace the existing symbol and become the only symbol able to expand into Monster Reels. The Indicators above each reel will also Upgrade to match.

Bloodthirst: Our Verdict

Well, Bloodthirst was certainly a U-Turn from Frank’s Farm. Then again, that’s just Hacksaw’s style. One minute they’ll hit you with their sunny disposition, before showing us that dark side once more for a slot with those horrific vibes that we love so much.

Hacksaw Gaming Slots are known for their tenaciously innovative games, but they’re also known for how brutal they can be. Sure enough, Bloodthirst can drain the balance as quickly as the horrific creatures within can drain blood, but that’s the risk you take, and the potential reward is often worth the risk.

Once again we have 2 bonus features here, the Bloodthirst Bonus, and the Immortals Bonus. Hacksaw has found a nice middle ground between their normal bonus and the super bonus. It doesn’t feel as unobtainable as some of Nolimit City’s super bonuses do, and the price tag on the bonus buy certainly backs it up. It’s not quite as capable as some of Nolimit City’s big beasts either with 10,000x as a maximum win, but it’s still a very respectable figure.

One thing we wish Hacksaw would implement is the BonusHunt FeatureSpins for UK players. Laws obviously prohibit bonus buys, but ante bet systems are alive and well in the UK market, and the BonusHunt falls well within what is acceptable. Hacksaw Games are brutal enough on the best of days, but they’d be much more highly regarded if this option was available.

Overall, Bloodthirst was a horrific yet compelling thrill from Hacksaw yet again, but you should certainly proceed with caution and a little bit of bravery if volatile slots and horror turns your stomach.
