Almighty Thunder UltraHitz GigaBlox Slot Review
Storm-god slots almost always keep the lightning as set dressing; Almighty Thunder UltraHitz GigaBlox is built the other way round. Here the bolts do the paying – GRAND and MINOR grades stamped straight onto the symbols – so the theme’s most obvious image is also its most important mechanic. That’s rarer than it should be, and it’s why this one earns a closer look.
BangBang built it, and the studio’s taste for engineered feature brands shows in the UltraHitz and GigaBlox tags it shares with siblings like Chilli Champions UltraHitz, Pharaoh’s Rage UltraSpinz and Caribbean Catch UltraNudge. It runs on a 5×4 grid with 120 paylines, plays at high volatility, and pays out on roughly 31.45% of spins. Stakes run from 0.20 to 40.
The thunder doesn’t stop at the artwork, and that’s the interesting part.
Base Game & Features
The base game spreads five reels across four rows, with 120 paylines collecting wins left to right. The reels can also pay in a “ways”-style collect, left to right, which gives the setup a looser feel than a fixed line count alone suggests. The interface labels the play area 40 Lines, so there’s a little tension between what the screen says and what the maths does.
Three things can interrupt an ordinary spin, and each has its own trigger:
- Golden Thunder – lightning bolts on consecutive reels award cash prizes
- Lightning Respins – respins pitched at colossal wins
- Bonus – the temple icon opens the Almighty Free Spins round
Wilds appear alongside the Bonus temple symbol, and the two can share the reels at once, several of each visible together on a single spin. Between the wilds, the temples and the bolts, the grid stays crowded with symbols that matter, and even a losing spin usually has something flashing for attention.
With a hit rate of 31.45%, roughly one spin in three returns something. High volatility keeps those returns modest most of the time, so the steady drip of small wins funds the wait for the bigger events the feature set promises.
The stake range frames what that wait costs. At 0.20 a spin this is cheap patience, and at 40 it’s a serious bankroll commitment, with that ceiling low enough that high rollers will find the ladder closed to them before they’d like.
Golden Thunder
Golden Thunder symbols are the lightning bolts, and they come in two named grades:
- GRAND – the top tier of the lightning prize scale
- MINOR – the smaller tier of the pair
When bolts land on consecutive reels, they award cash prizes on the spot. There’s no spin cost attached and no secondary screen to visit; the prize simply arrives with the bolt. Two named tiers mean the feature pays on a stepped scale rather than a flat rate.
The consecutive-reels requirement is what gives the feature its shape. A lone bolt does nothing, two side by side start the count, and each further reel that carries one pushes the step upward. A GRAND-stamped bolt streaking across several reels is the version worth watching for.
Lightning Respins
The respin feature pitches itself as the route to colossal wins, and it sits alongside Golden Thunder as the second base-game modifier. Its arrival isn’t tied to a stated symbol combination, so it lands as a surprise rather than something you can engineer.
A respin by definition holds the reels and gives them another turn, which makes it a natural partner to the lightning symbols: any bolt already sitting on the grid gets a second chance to find consecutive company. That’s the shape of the feature, even where the exact terms stay unspoken.
Between the two modifiers, the base game isn’t just a corridor to the bonus. The lightning symbols give it a second way to pay, and the temple Bonus icon gives it a third door.
Almighty Thunder UltraHitz GigaBlox Free Spins & Bonuses
Almighty Free Spins
The temple Bonus symbol triggers the Almighty Free Spins round, the game’s headline bonus mode. Land the temples and the storm proper begins. It’s the one feature in the set that moves play off the standard spin rhythm entirely.
Wild symbols appear through the round too, and several of them can share the reels with the Bonus temples at once. The free spins compress the same cast that drives the base game into a more concentrated format: more wilds, more temples, more ways for the lightning to connect.
Behind the round sits a progressive jackpot, one that climbs with play rather than paying a fixed figure. A MINOR or GRAND bolt is worth a set cash prize; the jackpot is worth whatever it has grown to, which is the difference between a known reward and an open one.
What the game does do is publish an end figure. The maximum win is 8,296x the stake, with the free spins and the progressive behind them the likeliest route towards it. Players who like to know exactly what the top of the ladder looks like will find it here.
Bonus Boost
A Bonus Boost button sits in the interface, offering a paid shortcut towards the bonus action. There’s no published price list to quote, so it’s an option to weigh at the reels rather than one to plan a session around.
The essentials, gathered in one place:
- Grid – 5×4, five reels across four rows
- Paylines – 120, with a ways-style left-to-right collect
- Hit frequency – 31.45%
- Volatility – high
- Stakes – 0.20 to 40 per spin
- Jackpot – progressive
- Bonus buy – Bonus Boost, price shown in-game
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a busy storm, and that’s the point of it. Roughly one spin in three pays something, the reels are rarely quiet, and every so often the sky opens and a streak of bolts across consecutive reels drops cash on the spot. If you pick one storm-god slot for its base game rather than its bonus, this is that kind of pick.
The strength is that the theme pays its own way: the lightning symbols aren’t decoration, they’re the feature. The weakness is the silence on returns – no confirmed return figure, though the top of the storm is published at a maximum win of 8,296x the stake.
It suits players who love modifiers stacked thick and don’t need the maths spelled out to enjoy the ride. Anyone who plans sessions around published figures will find it frustrating. For everyone else, this is a slot where the weather genuinely matters.
