Cai Shen Prosperity Slot Review
Mist hangs over a mountain village of pagodas and temples, and above it all sits Cai Shen, the god of wealth himself, arms flung wide over heaped mounds of green, red and blue gems. Amigo Gaming have gone all in on the iconography here, and the glossy, semi-realistic artwork sells it well: a many-tiered pagoda climbs through the haze, jagged peaks fill the horizon, and scattered coins lie across the stone terrace below the reels.
Cai Shen Prosperity runs on a 5×4 grid with very high volatility, a 23,000x ceiling at the top end, and no published RTP figure. The base game is busier than the serene setting suggests. Far more than spinning happens on these reels between bonus rounds, and everything the main game does funnels towards one destination: a collect-and-hold round where the god of wealth decides how generous he’s feeling.
Base Game & Features
The five reels and four rows carry a premium symbol set of Red Dragon, Gold Frog, Koi Fish and Gold Ingot above the A, K, Q and J royals. The dragon dominates the paytable. The drop-off below it is steep: five frogs pay less than half of five dragons, and everything under the frog falls away fast.
Symbol pays, as multiples of the total bet for three, four and five of a kind:
- Red Dragon: 2x, 8x, 50x
- Gold Frog: 1x, 5x, 20x
- Koi Fish: 0.5x, 2x, 5x
- Gold Ingot: 0.2x, 1x, 2x
- A, K, Q, J: 0.1x, 0.3x, 0.5x
The wild appears on reels two, three, four and five in the main game only, and substitutes for all symbols except the TOKEN and RANDOM BONUS. Note that it’s absent from reel one, so it can complete a line but never start one.
Token Symbols
Token symbols land in the main game only, covering other symbols on the reel. When a TOKEN flies off, whatever it uncovers can complete winning combinations if any are waiting. It’s a small touch, but it means a token landing is never a dead spin. The tokens come in the same three colours as the Treasure Bowls, Green, Red and Blue, and each one is tied to its matching bowl.
Treasure Bowls
Each TOKEN may randomly activate its corresponding Treasure Bowl: Green, Red or Blue. The bowls map directly onto the bonus round’s special symbols, and more than one can fire at once.
- One Bowl: PIN WIN Bonus with one type of special symbol, COLLECT, BOOST or PAYER
- Two Bowls: DOUBLE PIN WIN
- Three Bowls: TRIPLE PIN WIN
Cai Shen
The god of wealth settles above the reels and attracts Tri-colour TOKEN symbols to him. After pulling one in, he may randomly trigger a PIN WIN Bonus with all three types of special symbols: TRIPLE PIN WIN. He isn’t guaranteed to fire, which makes every token he catches a small held breath.
Random Bonus
The RANDOM BONUS also lands in the main game, covering other symbols, and it’s guaranteed to trigger one of the PIN WIN Bonus variants when it flies off. Like the TOKEN, the symbol it uncovers can complete wins on its way out.
Between the bowls, the god and this, there are three separate routes into the bonus round before a single payline win is counted. Each route also changes what the round contains, which is where the variants start to matter.
The Cai Shen Prosperity PIN WIN Bonus
Every trigger in the base game funnels into the same round, but the flavour depends on how you got there. A Green Bowl brings COLLECT symbols, a Red Bowl brings BOOST, a Blue Bowl brings PAYER, and several bowls activated together stack their symbol types into DOUBLE or TRIPLE variants. Cai Shen’s own trigger is always the full TRIPLE PIN WIN.
PIN WIN symbols carry cash prizes, each shown as a multiple of the total bet:
- 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 12x, 14x, 16x, 18x, 20x, 50x and 100x
The ladder climbs gently through the low steps, then jumps hard at the top. Everything from 0.5x to 20x is in reach spin by spin, but the last two rungs, 50x and 100x, sit well clear of the rest.
Bonus Game Mechanics
The main game reels transform into a 5×4 grid filled with PIN WIN symbols, special symbols and empty cells. PIN WIN and COLLECT symbols stick in place until the bonus ends. The round starts with three attempts; each spin uses one, and any PIN WIN or special symbol that lands resets the attempts back to three.
Special symbols activate in a fixed order, PAYER, then BOOST, then COLLECT, so a spin can chain effects before the take is totted up. Empty cells stay empty unless something lands in them. The bonus ends when the attempts run out or every position is covered with PIN WIN and COLLECT symbols. The round plays at the same bet as the triggering spin, and it can only be entered from the main game.
The top of the ladder is the ULTRA JACKPOT: collect 20 PIN WIN and/or COLLECT symbols across the grid and 1000x the total bet is awarded. That’s a full board, since the grid holds exactly 20 positions. A BUY BONUS option is there too, for going straight to the round.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Strip away the temple mist and Cai Shen Prosperity is a collect-and-hold game in very good clothes. The base game isn’t idle, which matters in a slot this volatile: tokens uncover wins, bowls charge up, and the god himself can pull the trigger without warning. It’s a busy set of reels that never feels cluttered.
The PIN WIN Bonus is the strength. Three attempts that reset on every landing symbol give a round real staying power, the fixed PAYER, BOOST, COLLECT ordering rewards knowing the mechanics, and the 1000x ULTRA JACKPOT for a full grid gives the long game a destination worth chasing.
The money, though, is almost all in the bonus. The royals pay so thinly that the base game can feel like a corridor between rounds. For a game presided over by the god of wealth, he keeps a tight grip on the purse. This one’s for players who enjoy a layered collect game and don’t mind waiting for it; anyone after steady base-game hits should look elsewhere.
