Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Play 2 Slot Review
A full rainbow arcs over rolling green hills, its colours spilling past the edges of the screen, and a gold Celtic braid frame holds the reels beneath it. Blueprint Gaming have built a game here that doesn’t trust its own paytable: the best anything on the reels pays is 25x, and every route to the 50,000x cap runs through one of three features rather than through the symbols themselves.
Three features do all the earning in this one, and the base game between them is thin. It runs on a 5×4 grid with 20 winlines, pays adjacent, and carries a 50,000x win cap on a total bet. RTP is 95.06-95.38%, depending on configuration. Fans of Wish Upon a Leprechaun Megaways will know the territory.
Base Game & Features
The base game is plain five-reel work. Wins pay adjacent across 20 winlines, numbered one to twenty beside the grid, and there’s no wild symbol substituting for anything here. The reel set is gems, royals and the pot of gold, with two special symbols carrying the feature load.
Adjacent pays are worth a pause, because not every 20-line game uses them. A winning run only needs matching symbols to sit on neighbouring reels from the left, with no gap between them, rather than landing on a specific numbered line. In practice that makes the 20 winlines feel roomier than the count suggests.
Symbols and Pays
All pays are multiples of the total bet, not the line stake:
- Pot of gold – 5x for three, 15x for four, 25x for five
- Red gem – 3x, 10x, 20x for three, four and five
- Blue gem – 2x, 5x, 15x
- Green gem – 2x, 5x, 15x
- A – 1x, 2x, 10x
- K – 1x, 2x, 10x
- Q – 0.5x, 1x, 5x
- J – 0.5x, 1x, 5x
- 10 – 0.5x, 1x, 5x
The shape of that ladder tells you where the money isn’t. The top prize is modest for a game with a 50,000x cap, and the royals taper away below it. The big numbers live in the features, not the paytable.
Two quirks of the ladder stand out. The red gem sits a tier above the blue and green at every count, and below the A, every royal pays identically – three faces on one row. Neither quirk changes much, because no symbol on this list is the reason anyone spins.
Two special symbols matter, and neither works like a payer:
- Scatter – a gold coin stamped with a question mark; anywhere in view awards Money Spins
- Luck O’ The Irish symbol – fills reels to reveal random symbols, and transfers across reels in Fortune Play
The scatter opens a collect round and the Luck O’ The Irish symbol works the reels directly, both explained below.
Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Play 2 Bonus Features & Free Spins
Three mechanics share the feature work, and they chain together: the scatter opens the collect round, while the Luck O’ The Irish symbol powers the two reveal features. What triggers what:
- Money Spins – scatter coin anywhere in view
- Luck O’ The Irish feature – the symbols filling a whole reel in view
- Fortune Play – any Luck O’ The Irish symbol present
Money Spins
The scatter coin anywhere in view awards Money Spins. This is a hold-and-collect round: coin symbols that land during it are collected for cash prizes, and every new coin that appears in view resets the remaining spin count to three.
That reset is the whole engine of the round. A coin arriving on the last spin buys three more chances, and the feature only ends when three consecutive spins pass without a new coin landing. Every spin carries a deadline.
The round follows a simple rhythm. Each spin either lands a coin, which locks in place and adds its prize to the total while resetting the counter, or it doesn’t, which burns one of the three remaining attempts. Early coins matter most, because they set the clock running with more reels still open for later ones.
The Luck O’ The Irish Feature
The Luck O’ The Irish symbol lands on the reels during normal play. When these symbols fill a whole reel in view, each one reveals a random symbol, opening up more ways to build a winning line.
What the reveal produces decides everything. A full reel of four matching symbols can feed the adjacent-pays rule into several wins at once if the revealed symbol is the pot of gold or a gem, while a royal reveal pays far less. That’s the gamble built into every trigger.
Fortune Play
Fortune Play is where the game changes shape. With any Luck O’ The Irish symbol present, it transfers to all remaining reels, and every symbol in view then reveals the same one. A single lucky symbol becomes a screen of them.
The win that follows is whatever that repeated symbol pays across the winlines, with the count doing the work: a full screen of pots of gold is twenty winlines’ worth of the top pay at once. That’s the route by which a 25x five-of-a-kind ladder supports a 50,000x cap. Reaching it is another matter entirely.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Under all that rainbow and shamrock, this is a waiting game. The base game exists to pass time between feature symbols, and the one reason to sit through it is the coin scatter: everything exciting here is one symbol away at any moment.
Money Spins is the round worth coming for. The reset-to-three rule keeps every spin of the round live, and a lucky streak of coins can turn a small trigger into a long, growing payout. That tension is what hold-and-collect rounds are for, and this one delivers it properly.
The rest is thin. No wild, a top symbol worth 25x, and a theme so well worn it barely registers – the reels between features offer very little to hold onto. If a collect-and-reset round with real tension is what you’re after, the pot at the end of this rainbow has something in it. Anyone after rich base-reel play should look past this particular hillside.
