Pegasus Cash Spree Slot Review
Pegasus Cash Spree is a slot that has almost no interest in paying you through its paylines. Beneath the carved gold frame and the god-lit clouds of its Greek heaven, the line wins are token gestures; the real money lives entirely in the symbols the paytable doesn’t price – the Cash Spree coins, the wheel prizes, the multiplier meter creeping upward spin after spin. A five-reel game that pays a third of the time yet still makes its line game feel like an afterthought is a deliberate build, and it’s a divisive one.
Oros Gaming have built this one on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines, running at 96.20% RTP with high volatility. It sits in a family that includes Cash Spree Phoenix and Premier Joker Cash Spree, both built around the same name feature.
Base Game & Features
It’s a five reel, three row slot with 20 fixed paylines, and wins pay left to right from the first reel. Only the highest winning combination counts per line. Line wins sit alongside the Cash Spree, Wheel Bonus and Free Spin symbol payouts in your total for the spin.
Stakes run from 0.20 to 35.00 per spin. The game pays out on roughly a third of spins at a stated hit rate of 34.42%, so the gaps between wins aren’t long, but the wins themselves are usually small.
The symbol values tell you where this game’s priorities sit. The top-paying gems are modest, and the royals are close to decoration.
- Red Gem – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 4x for five
- Purple Gem – 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 3x for five
- Green Gem – 0.3x for three, 0.5x for four, 1.5x for five
- Blue Gem – 0.2x for three, 0.5x for four, 1.5x for five
- A – 0.9x for five
- K – 0.1x for three, 0.3x for four, 0.9x for five
- Q, J, 10 – 0.1x for three, 0.2x for four, 0.4x for five
Wilds substitute for everything except the Multiplier, Wheel Trigger, Cash Spree and Free Spin symbols, and they can form their own winning lines. That’s their whole job here.
Five features hang off this base game, and each has its own trigger. Here’s the full set at a glance.
- Cash Spree – Cash Spree symbols starting on reels 1 and 2
- Free Spins – three Free Spin symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4
- Free Spins Multiplier – Multiplier symbols in the base game
- Wheel Bonus – a Wheel Trigger symbol
- Mystery Selection – every spin, via a designated reel section
Cash Spree
Cash Spree symbols are the heart of the game. Land them starting on reels 1 and 2, paying left to right across adjacent reels, and each one awards either a cash value or one of the fixed prizes.
Cash values appear on every reel, with the bigger amounts sitting on reels 4 and 5. That’s also where the Grand, Mega, Major, Minor and Mini prizes live.
Cash Spree wins are added to any payline wins from the same spin. The feature runs in the base game and during free spins alike, so no spin is ever just a payline spin.
Mystery Selection
A designated section of the reels picks a symbol every spin, and that selection can change into any other symbol except the Multiplier, Wheel Trigger and Free Spin symbols. When it’s about to reveal a Wild or a Cash Spree symbol, it displays as a Mystery symbol instead.
That display quirk is a useful tell. A Mystery symbol means one of the two most valuable outcomes is coming, so it’s worth watching the reels rather than the win meter.
Free Spins Multiplier
The meter above the reels is the base game’s other long game. Every Multiplier symbol that lands nudges it upwards by 0.5x, and it carries straight into the free spins round.
It builds only in the base game: the symbol can’t appear on the triggering spin for free spins, and it never appears on Free Spins or Mystery symbols. The cap is 10x.
After a round finishes, the meter doesn’t drop back to the start. It resets part-way, landing somewhere between 1x and 4x, so a good build leaves something behind for the next attempt.
Pegasus Cash Spree Free Spins & Bonus Features
Free Spins
Three Free Spin symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 pay 1x your total bet and bring out the Free Spins Wheel. Every wedge of that wheel carries a number of free spins, and whatever it stops on is what you get.
The multiplier you built in the base game applies to all wins inside the round, with three exceptions: the Free Spins Wheel itself, and the Grand and Mega prizes. Retriggers work the same way as the trigger. Three more Free Spin symbols award a fresh batch equal to the initial one.
The bet and lines stay locked to the triggering spin throughout, and wins during the round are added to base game totals rather than kept separate.
Wheel Bonus
Landing a Wheel Trigger symbol gives you a shot at the wheel tucked behind the frame. Each wedge holds one of the five fixed prizes, Grand down to Mini, and the pointer decides. The collecting animation around the trigger symbol is pure spectacle and has no bearing on the outcome.
The Wheel Trigger can’t appear alongside Mystery, Free Spins or Cash Spree symbols, it only shows up in the base game, and it can’t fire on a free spins trigger.
The Grand prize is the biggest target the wheel offers.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.6/10
Sitting at this cabinet is a quiet game wearing a loud gold frame. You’d choose it for the waiting itself: the coins, the meter, the Mystery symbol teasing a reveal, all of it feeding a sense that every spin moves something. Even a dry stretch feels like banking half a multiplier for later.
The multiplier reset is the smartest thing here. A round that flops still leaves the next one partly built, so failures cost less than they usually do in games this volatile. The line game is the honest weakness: four-of-a-kind gems pay a single times your stake, so the paytable does almost nothing to carry a session between features.
This one suits the patient kind who judge a slot by how the round pays when it finally lands, and who like watching the meters do the climbing. Anyone wanting regular line wins with meat on them will find the gaps long and the pays lean. But for the players Pegasus was built for, the horse earns its wings.
