Silver’s Gold PowerLinks Slot Review
Silver’s Gold PowerLinks buries nearly all of its real money in one place: the coin collection round. That’s an unusual way to build a slot at low-to-medium volatility, and it makes for lopsided sessions on a tropical pirate island where the base reels are mostly there to keep you warm between hauls. The driftwood canopy, the seagulls and the gold-hilted cutlass in the sand are lovely; the line pays beneath them are an afterthought.
This is a 5×3, 25-payline slot from Jelly Entertainment, running at low-to-medium volatility with stakes from 0.25 to 100 per spin, and nearly everything interesting about it sits in the collection round rather than the reels. A modest base game ferries you towards the Powerlinks respins, where coins, chests and boosters stack up. Players who know the studio’s work on Diggin for Diamonds 2 or Piggy Staxx, or the jackpot chase of Hall of Wealth, will recognise the build.
Base Game & Features
The reels sit under that driftwood canopy on a classic five-by-three grid with 25 fixed paylines. Only the highest combination on each line counts, and wins pay left to right. The premium symbols pull their weight in the theme: the Pirate leads the table, followed by the Crocodile, Crossed Swords, Cannon and Anchor, with the four card suits filling out the low end.
Symbol values, as multiples of stake:
- Pirate – 2 pays 0.08x, 3 pays 4x, 4 pays 8x, 5 pays 16x
- Crocodile – 3 pays 2x, 4 pays 4x, 5 pays 6x
- Crossed Swords – 3 pays 1.6x, 4 pays 3.2x, 5 pays 4x
- Cannon – 3 pays 1.2x, 4 pays 2.4x, 5 pays 3.2x
- Anchor – 3 pays 0.6x, 4 pays 1.6x, 5 pays 2.4x
- Heart / Spade – 3 pays 0.4x, 4 pays 1x, 5 pays 1.6x
- Diamond / Club – 3 pays 0.2x, 4 pays 0.6x, 5 pays 1.2x
- Mystery and Money symbols – no line pays; they feed the features instead
The shape of that table tells you what kind of slot this is. The Pirate is the only symbol that pays on two of a kind, and even then it’s a token amount, so the top of the ladder is where any real base-game money lives. Everything below it steps down in a hurry.
There’s no standing wild on the grid. Wilds arrive through the Cannonball Modifier, and they don’t linger.
Cannonball Modifier
This one can fire on any spin. A cannonball lands and reveals itself as either a mystery cannonball or a wild cannonball. The mystery version spawns the reels with mystery symbols that can reveal any paid symbol; the wild version does the same with wilds. It’s a simple injection of variance into otherwise ordinary spins.
Lose to Win
The kinder of the two modifiers. The reels can trigger from a losing position and convert the dead spin into a guaranteed prize. It doesn’t say how large. On a game with a hit frequency of 35.05%, a consolation layer softens the flat stretches without changing the maths much.
Silver’s Gold PowerLinks Bonus Features
Powerlinks Bonus
Land five or more Money symbols anywhere and the Powerlinks round begins: three respins, with any chest or coin that lands resetting the count back to three. It’s the hold-and-collect structure, and the reset is what gives a round legs.
Money symbols carry multiplier values, and Mini and Minor labels ride on the coins in play, so the jackpots are threaded through the same collection rather than parked in a separate game. That threading is the round’s real design choice: everything pays out of one grid.
The Boosters
Chests in the respins don’t just reset the spins. They can open boosters, and each one changes the shape of the round:
- Life Boost – awards an additional spin once the three respins have run out
- Rise Boost – expands the play area to the next level, increasing the number of spaces to win
- Cash Boost – upgrades the Coin symbols to higher prizes
Silver himself can land into view during respins and collect every Coin symbol on the grid for a single payment. He leaves the Boosters alone, so the round keeps its structure even as he sweeps the cash.
The order of events matters here. A Cash Boost that lands before Silver arrives upgrades the coins first, so his collection pays at the improved values rather than the originals.
Free Spins
Three Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 award five free spins. During the round, any Money symbol pays the collective amount gathered on the triggering spin, so the coins you bring in with you set the tariff for everything that follows.
Chests appear on reel 5 and carry two boosters of their own: a Spin Boost that adds a free spin, and a Cash Boost that boosts the total coin value.
Five spins is a short round. The boosting chests are what stretch it, and the collective-value mechanic means a rich trigger spin is worth far more than a poor one. A trigger with a handful of low-value coins produces five spins of modest payments; a trigger with the reels already carrying multipliers can turn the same five spins into something considerably larger.
Buy Bonus
For 100x your bet you can buy straight into the features, with no additional winnings attached. You don’t choose which one: either Free Spins or the Powerlinks respins is awarded at random, which is a less generous arrangement than games that let you price the two rounds separately.
At the top stake of 100, that’s a hefty button press for a coin flip between the two.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Playing Silver’s Gold PowerLinks is mostly waiting on a tropical island for the tide to bring the coins in, and the reason you’d pick it is that one moment when five of them land and the grid starts filling. It’s a patient game wearing a pirate costume.
The best thing here is the respin reset, because every coin buys you the whole three again, so a round that should end keeps not ending. That’s where all the drama lives. The weakest part is the base game, which pays so little that it can’t hold attention on its own; five free spins is a miserly round too, and the buy bonus charges full price without even letting you choose which feature you get.
It suits players who enjoy a slow, steady collection build and small, regular returns while a cheerful cartoon island does its thing in the background. Anyone after big swings and headline pays will find this water far too calm, and there’s no treasure map promising otherwise. For coin collectors and patient hunters, though, this island is worth mooring at for an evening.
