Five of a kind is where the money is, and even the premium symbol only reaches 6x the line bet. Three-of-a-kind pays on the top symbol start at half the line bet, so the base game’s job is small wins and coin collection rather than anything dramatic.

The more interesting symbols don’t pay in the normal way at all. Green, blue and red skull coins land on the reels carrying cash values, and three skeletons sit above the reels, each one collecting coins of its own colour. Collecting all three colours gives a chance to trigger the bonus minigame.

Playing Triple Fiesta is mostly waiting: quiet spins, small line wins, and the slow business of feeding three skeletons their coloured coins. The reason to sit through it is the round that waiting buys. When the minigame finally arrives armed with two or three modifiers, it’s a genuinely tense piece of design, and the skeletons make the patience feel like part of the party rather than a chore.

The minigame is the strength, and it earns it. Multipliers that add instead of replacing, and a Double Reel that copies every coin onto a second set of reels, mean a single round can climb well past what its coins say on their faces. The weakness is the price of admission: a paytable that tops out at 6x the line bet, on a 95.3% return that sits below most of the competition.

This is one for players who enjoy the long build towards one big collection round. It isn’t one for anyone who wants the reels themselves to pay their way between bonuses. Bring patience and a taste for marigolds, and the fiesta delivers where it counts.
