Spellbinding Mystery Base Game and Features

Spellbinding Mystery is a 7×7 Video Slot with a Cluster Pays mechanic. Winning combinations are formed when 7 or more of the same symbols land either Horizontally or Vertically across the grid.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.20 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.€100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. This game has a theoretical RTP of 96.04% and a max win cap of 10,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Book, followed by the Hat, Scroll, Pink Potion, and Green Potion. Low-paying symbols fall to Red, Purple, Blue, and Yellow Tiles. Wilds appear with a random Multiplier value between x1 and x5, substituting for all symbols except Scatters and Mystery symbols.

Mystery Symbols

During the base game, a number of Mystery symbols can land at random across the grid. Once this happens, at the end of the spin, they will reveal the same High or Low-paying symbol, with the possibility of forming winning combinations.

Landing 3 Scatters across reels 2, 4, and 6 triggers the Free Spins round, awarding 10 Free Spins.

During Free Spins, any Mystery symbols that land in view will mark their positions until the end of the Free Spins round. After each Free Spin, all marked positions will transform into Mystery symbols.

Also during Free Spins, Wild symbols will always land with a random Multiplier of x2, x4, x6, x8, or x10 at random. Whenever a new Mystery symbol lands in a position that has already been marked, an additional +1 Free Spin will be awarded.

Spellbinding Mystery: Our Verdict

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Pragmatic Play’s talents really shine through in their Cluster Pays titles, and it seems that they’ve worked their magic yet again.

Spellbinding Mystery is a bit of a dark horse. Mystery symbols and Wild Multipliers didn’t exactly scream excitement at first, and we lost all hope when we realized there are no cascades/tumbles when a winning combination is formed, but we’ll admit that we were too quick to judge.

Mystery Symbols and Multiplier Wilds are probably the 2 most common features we see in slots. On their own, they are pretty standard features, but when combined, they’re capable of delivering some pretty decent hits when they want to.

During Free Spins, Mystery Symbols and Wild Multipliers have an even bigger role to play. Each time a Mystery symbol lands, it will mark its position on the grid, and landing a new Mystery symbol on top of one of these awards additional Free Spins.

In addition to this, Multiplier Wilds can deliver up to x10 Multiplier values when they hit during Free Spins. The only thing we will say is that the increase in Multiplier values could have been a lot more significant.
