iSoftBet Slots – Full Provider Review
Aggregation and Reach

A significant part of iSoftBet’s success came from its Game Aggregation Platform (GAP). This system provided operators with access to more than 4,600 third-party titles alongside iSoftBet’s own releases. GAP integrated games from dozens of providers and became one of the largest aggregation platforms of its kind, helping iSoftBet supply content to around 260 operators worldwide.
Proprietary Portfolio
Alongside aggregation, iSoftBet produced its own catalogue of roughly 125 proprietary titles. These included both original and branded games. Licensed content drew on well-known films and TV franchises such as Rambo, Platoon, Paranormal Activity, Basic Instinct, and Beverly Hills 90210. Original releases ranged from classic fruit slots to modern mechanics, with notable examples like Aztec Gold Megaways, Hot Spin Megaways, and Book of Immortals.
Distinctive Features
iSoftBet developed a number of proprietary slot mechanics designed to set its games apart:
- Ultra Bet – a feature buy mode with a set number of spins and bonus opportunities.
- Xpanding Ways – reel expansion triggered by specific symbols.
- Hold & Win – a popular bonus mechanic adding respins and fixed jackpots.
- Megaboard™ – a progressive feature unlocked within some releases.
- Megaways™ – used under licence from Big Time Gaming, expanding payline potential.
These mechanics, combined with branded content, positioned iSoftBet as a versatile supplier.
Exclusive Interviews With iSoftBet and Fruity Slots

Before the IGT acquisition, Fruity Slots had the opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with Mark Claxton, Head of Games at iSoftBet. The discussion explored the company’s people, portfolio, and long-term vision, providing a direct look into how the studio approached game design and innovation at the time.
The interview gave insight into iSoftBet’s development philosophy, its role as both a game creator and aggregator, and the ambitions that guided the studio prior to its transition into the IGT PlayDigital family.

Platforms and Compliance
All games were developed in HTML5, ensuring seamless compatibility across desktop and mobile devices. Compliance was a key part of the company’s growth, with certifications in markets including the UK, Malta, Alderney, Romania, and others across Europe. This regulatory footprint was a major factor in its appeal to IGT, who sought to strengthen PlayDigital’s reach.
What Happened After IGT Acquired iSoftBet
When IGT completed the acquisition of iSoftBet in Q2 2022 for approximately €160 million, it integrated both the studio’s proprietary catalog and its aggregation platform into its PlayDigital division. The acquisition more than doubled IGT PlayDigital’s library of proprietary games, which expanded to approximately 225 titles.
Post-acquisition, iSoftBet’s Game Aggregation Platform (GAP) and its promotional, analytics, and engagement tools became part of IGT’s digital infrastructure. This bolstered IGT’s back-end capabilities for distributing both proprietary and third-party content
Later strategic developments within IGT have also impacted its broader structure: in 2024, IGT announced a plan to spin off its gaming and digital business, merging it with Everi under private ownership by Apollo Global Management. This means that the digital segment, which includes the iSoftBet legacy, may be realigned under a new ownership structure outside of publicly traded IGT.
